Hair cleansing or detox treatments for your hair

What is skin detoxification

Living in modern conditions, that is, an unfavorable ecological environment, with an incorrect diet and daily routine, frequent stressful situations, and psychological overwork contribute to the appearance of early signs of aging. The latter are manifested, first of all, by early aging of the face, loss of shine, silkiness and increased hair loss.

In addition, as the year increases, the body’s metabolism slows down, the processes of cell destruction predominate over their restoration, and the processes of blood microcirculation and lymph flow in materials slow down. As a result, toxins, toxic products of metabolism and the external environment accumulate throughout the body, the internal resources of the body are reduced, immunity is weakened, resistance to bacterial and viral infections is reduced, body weight increases, cellulite and sagging materials develop, dark circles under the eyes and swelling of the face.

The function of organs (skin, lungs, liver, kidneys) that perform detoxification, that is, the removal of harmful substances from the body, gradually decreases. All this leads to a slowdown in the renewal of all cells and, in particular, skin cells. A considerable number of cells of the stratum corneum accumulate on its surface, which form a “film” that is invisible to the eye, but disrupts the normal functioning of the materials.

What is a hair detox?

Evolution: We are talking about a hair detox, not a scalp detox. There is a type of contaminant: fat-soluble and water-soluble. We remove water-soluble ones using regular shampoo, but in some cases more thorough cleansing is required. This is hair cleansing using kaolin clay and natural oils. How much stronger it is than regular shampoo cleansing is evidenced by the fact that after this procedure, the hair even becomes a tone lighter and acquires shine. Clay combined with oils gives such an amazing effect.

Detoxing the face and scalp

Detoxification of facial skin tissues

These programs are very diverse. They can be performed in beauty salons and at home. It is recommended to use them during periods of the year with low solar activity. The meaning behind the different detoxification programs is the same. These procedures are recommended to be carried out at least 2 times a year. For facial skin, their principle is:

  • disagreement with applying makeup at least 2 times a week;
  • removing cosmetics and cleansing the face through gommage;
  • applying masks based on brown algae (fucus vesiculosa, kelp), which have a bottomless effect and contain salts of alginic acid, as well as vitamins “A” and “C” and other active components. For more significant skin disorders, enzyme-based peels are used instead, such as papaya enzymes;
  • It is mandatory to apply ampoule serums or other peptide concentrates, but those that do not contain preservatives;
  • the use of cosmetic preparations in the form of creams or gels containing encapsulated oxygen, which penetrates quite deeply into the tissues, is released into them and stimulates the processes of cellular regeneration;
  • using (usually) facial massage as a final procedure.

Depending on the condition of the skin and your own feelings, you can complete the procedure yourself at home or seek advice or procedures from a cosmetologist or skin specialist.

You can use traditional detox recipes yourself to help keep your materials in good condition at a minimum cost. For example, one of the fairly popular methods is to remove toxins using steam baths with essential oils. To do this, you need to pour hot water into a basin, add a few drops (3-5) of sage, lavender, tea tree or cypress oil to it and, placing your face over the basin, cover with a towel. The exposure duration is up to 5-7 minutes.

Another example is a compress with magnesia (1 tablespoon per 1 liter of hot water) and a few drops of orange oil. A dry napkin or towel must be moistened in this solution and applied to the face for a few seconds for 5 minutes.

Deep detox can be achieved using cosmetic clay. Black clay is considered the best. To do this, mineral clay powder is mixed with warm water and a few drops of rosemary oil. The mixture is applied to the face for 15 minutes. You can also use a mixture of apple cider vinegar (1 part) with blue clay (3 parts).

In addition, a honey massage of the face, a visit to the sauna or Russian bath have a good effect.

Head skin detox

It is not only an effective cleaning product, but also high-quality hair care. Compared to facial skin cleansing, it is performed slightly differently:

  • cosmetic weapons with proteins are applied along the entire length of the hair;
  • the hair is separated into thin strands, and the scalp is treated with a cocktail containing a vitamin complex; it is rubbed in with massaging movements for 3-5 minutes;
  • In addition, a nutritional extract is applied with a simultaneous massage of the head with the pads of the fingers, after which the head is covered with a dry towel for 15-20 minutes;
  • wash your head thoroughly with shampoo, followed by applying conditioner for 2-3 minutes and also removing it with warm water.

Some examples of detox recipes for the scalp at home:

  • A mask made from mixing aloe juice with bentonite clay. Prepare a homogeneous mixture in the form of a paste, consisting of ½ cup of fresh aloe juice and ½ cup of bentonite clay with the addition of apple cider vinegar (4 tablespoons). The paste is applied to the scalp and along the length of the hair, covered with a bathing cap and left for 30 minutes, after which it is washed off with apple cider vinegar, and then (after 2-3 minutes) with regular hair shampoo. It is recommended to use the mask once a week. If desired, it can be used more often, but without rinsing with vinegar.
  • Soda face. Pour ½ cup of baking soda into three cups of hot water, stir and cool slightly. With this solution, you need to thoroughly rinse already moistened hair from roots to edges, massage your head for several minutes, and then rinse thoroughly. Detox with soda solution is recommended to be carried out once every two weeks, and for oily hair - any week.
  • Oil mask with cinnamon. You need to mix cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon) with baking soda (1 teaspoon) and two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply to hair along the entire length, starting from the roots, and rub into the scalp with massaging movements. The mask is applied for 20 minutes, after which it must be removed with warm water. It is recommended to use the mask at home once a week.

In addition, you can use sea salt shampoo in a 2:1 ratio, honey shampoo (1 tablespoon of honey, a few drops of essential oil in 3 tablespoons of filtered water), cucumber-lemon shampoo, etc.

The final purpose of detoxification programs is:

  • improvement of blood microcirculation and lymph outflow in the skin;
  • improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to them;
  • stimulation of substance metabolism and activation of regenerative processes;
  • removal of excess liquid and waste;
  • stimulation of sweat gland function;
  • normalization of the function of sebaceous glands and stimulation of hair growth;
  • activation of the processes of synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers;
  • reducing porosity and increasing skin tone.

It is desirable that all weapons used are from the same line and must be marked “Detox”. Some scalp detoxification products contain sea salt, which provides quite effective peeling and stimulation of hair follicle function.

The technique is not a one-time cosmetic procedure, but involves several sessions that are carried out by a cosmetologist or at home 1-3 times a week for one month. The duration of the course depends on the condition of the skin, the degree of intoxication (slagging), age and individual characteristics.

How is detox facial cleansing performed?

Detoxification therapy for facial skin is carried out at the last stage, after procedures to cleanse the body. The first step is to clean the oral cavity, then the intestines, liver, kidneys, blood, lymph, and only after that you can start cleaning the skin. Before cleansing your body, be sure to consult with your doctors; self-cleansing is extremely dangerous.

First you need to prepare your skin for cleansing. Peels do an excellent job of this. The most common types of facial peeling are chemical and mechanical, available to every woman. You can buy it in trusted stores or make it yourself. But if you want, you can contact a cosmetologist for professional deep cleaning, for example, ultrasonic.

Peeling is a procedure that allows you to remove dead skin particles, thereby renewing it, giving radiance from the inside and cleansing pores to further nourish the skin. Applying masks and creams to an uncleaned face is practically useless.

Chemical peeling includes various acids (salicylic, glycolic, citric, malic) and enzymes (proteases). Mechanical peeling (scrub) consists of microparticles of abrasive materials (crushed almond shells, pumice, soda, coffee, salt crystals, etc.).

Contraindications for peeling procedures: it is not recommended to carry them out at elevated temperatures or the presence of viral diseases; for inflammation of the skin of an unknown nature, except acne; for skin damage, open wounds; with pronounced dehydration of the skin.

For those with oily skin, it is recommended to use peels containing beta hydroxy acids and cosmetics containing salicylic or glycolic acids. Dry and sensitive skin is better suited to less aggressive fruit acids.

Six Week Detox Regimen

An example of one such cleansing and healing program is facial skin detoxification for 6 weeks with “ARTISTRY” cosmetics. The program is intended to be carried out 1-2 times a year. Its advantages are:

  1. Carrying out regular 6-week special care that promotes more intense cellular renewal of the skin, the process of which lasts on average 30-42 days.
  2. The ability to use only two additional skin care tools, which makes it easy to integrate the program into your daily routine facial care. These two products include Aristry Intensive Skincare Revitalizing Peel, which is a renewing facial peel, and Artistry time defiance Vitamin C + Wild Yam Serum, which is a special care product with vitamin C and wild yam plant extract.
  3. Immediate and long-term effect - the duration of daily use to obtain visually noticeable results is no more than 10 minutes.
  4. The low cost of drugs makes the procedure accessible to almost every woman.

Aristry intensive skincare

Renewing peeling for facial skin is a product with a quick and intense, but delicate effect. Removal of keratinized cells is carried out thanks to biological enzymes that act almost immediately after application, but not aggressively. Therefore, the drug helps remove dead epithelial cells without damaging the protective epidermal layer. In addition, the liposomes it contains help restore the protective barrier and hydration, and oat extract stimulates the metabolism of substances in cells.

Thus, as a result of the influence of this weapon, the processes of cellular regeneration and renewal are accelerated, and skin permeability for cosmetic nutritional components increases. It can be used on any skin type on people of any age. At the same time, the drug acts on young skin as a cleanser, and on aging skin it also acts as a weapon, stimulating cell regeneration, restoring tone, color and relief. It does not cause irritation or spots of redness, and combines very well with the main ARISTRY care products, except those with a peeling effect. When used 2 times a week, it lasts for a month and a half.

What should this procedure include?

This is a complete hair treatment. Most often it includes: a mask with cleansing kaolin clay, a concentrate based on nourishing oils, shampoo (taking into account the condition and sensitivity of the scalp). This is followed by applying a moisturizing mask and massaging the scalp with a Clarisonic device, which acts on the pores of the scalp. Then a compress is a hot towel, and at the end of the ritual an ampoule is applied, which restores the scalp.

What is important:

The products used for such care may vary. For example, the Hanasaki Detox ritual, developed by Japanese stylist Nobuaki Yamazumi, includes up to 45 options and various combinations of Kerastase products.
