Buttock augmentation with your own fat

What is lipofilling of the buttocks?

Lipofilling of the buttocks is a mega-popular procedure today for increasing the “fifth point” by injections of the patient’s own fat, taken from the places of its greatest accumulation (most often the stomach, back, inner and outer thighs).

This operation is considered less dangerous than other methods of enlargement, since the patient’s own tissue is used, which is not rejected by the body. The intervention is performed under local anesthesia, which guarantees a short recovery period.

To enlarge the buttocks, an average of 400 - 900 g of fat is required, so this method is unlikely to be suitable for thin girls. In addition, the first results can be assessed only after three months, when the swelling has finally passed and part of the transplanted material has resolved. Several corrective procedures may be required.

Famous fans of lipofilling are Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and other Hollywood stars. But this does not mean that after the operation the butt will necessarily become as curvy as Kylie or Kim’s; at a preliminary consultation with the doctor, you can discuss the desired shape and volume.

To sum it up: what you need to remember about buttock fat grafting

  1. Compared to the placement of synthetic implants, lipotransfer provides a more natural effect: the injected fat spreads evenly and after 3-6 months is completely integrated into the subcutaneous tissue.
  2. This manipulation has a minimal risk of complications, since the patient’s own cells act as the drug. The development of an immune conflict is excluded. Adipocytes of another person, even a close relative, cannot be used.
  3. If there is insufficient amount of donor material in one of the zones, it will be collected in several areas, which may affect the duration and severity of the rehabilitation period. Aspirated from any region, this does not affect the success of engraftment.
  4. After the correction session, the volume of transplanted fat will decrease. This is an irreversible process that accompanies lipomodeling of various parts of the body. Occurs due to partial death of the introduced cell cluster. With buttock enlargement, losses do not exceed 5-10%.

Tests and examinations that must be completed first

In order to exclude possible contraindications, before the operation you need to undergo the following comprehensive examination of the body:

  • take blood tests (general, biochemical, HIV, RW and hepatitis);
  • general urine analysis;
  • take an x-ray or fluorography;
  • ECG;
  • Ultrasound of the pelvic organs;
  • consult with an anesthesiologist and therapist.

In addition, at the preliminary consultation with the surgeon, the structure of the patient’s skeleton is analyzed, in particular, the proportional ratio of the soft tissues of the buttocks and the length of the legs.

How is the operation performed?

Conventionally, the operation can be divided into three main parts.

Part 1:

The areas to be operated on are marked on the patient's body. Local anesthesia is then administered. After the painkillers have taken effect, the surgeon uses a thin cannula (a needle with a rounded end with a diameter of 3 mm) to puncture the donor area, inject a special solution there and pump out the required amount of fat (the liposuction method is used).

Part 2:

The removed fat is purified in a centrifuge from destroyed cells, impurities of a special solution and blood. Since some of the material is removed during the cleaning process, more is always removed than replanted.

Part 3:

The surgeon, using another syringe and a cannula (2 mm in diameter), makes punctures in different planes of the buttocks and injects purified fat through them.

On average, the operation lasts 1-1.5 hours, and the very next day after it, the patient can go home.

How is lipofilling of the buttocks performed?

Lipofilling of such a large area takes from 1.5 to 3 hours and is always performed under general anesthesia.

The operation is divided into stages:

  1. Applying preoperative markings, which the surgeon will follow throughout the operation.
  2. Liposuction using the VASER method is ultrasonic liquefaction of adipose tissue and its careful removal.
  3. Purification of fat emulsion from blood impurities.
  4. Introduction to the chosen field. The optimal amount of adipose tissue used at a time is from 500 to 2000 ml.

After the operation, the patient remains in the hospital for 24 hours. Lipofilling can also be used in other areas, for example, on the face, hands, and chest.

Adipose tissue cryopreservation service is available at the Mira Hospital! After a single collection of fat cells (including during liposuction), the patient can resort to lipofilling at any time.

What you need to know about the recovery period

During the first week after surgery, swelling and redness of the skin disappear, and in general, the duration of the rehabilitation period depends on the individual characteristics of the body and is up to 60 days. At this time it is necessary:

  • take prescribed antibiotics for a week;
  • refrain from lifting weights (7 days), driving a car (10 days), wearing high-heeled shoes (1 month);
  • undergo regular scheduled examinations with a surgeon;
  • stop drinking alcohol and energy drinks;
  • adhere to proper nutrition;
  • temporarily stop visiting the sauna, bathhouse, swimming pool, as well as playing sports;
  • wear compression garments;
  • refuse swimming in the river, sea, lake;
  • make special compresses, sleep on your stomach and follow other doctor’s recommendations.

Before and after

Before and after

Rehabilitation period

After the operation, the patient remains in the hospital for 1-2 days under the supervision of doctors. You will need to wear compression garments for several days. Depending on the volume of exposure, hematomas and swelling can last from several days to 2-3 weeks. The final effect can be observed 3 months after the operation - after a certain part of the injected fat has resolved (the process can affect up to 30% of the volume of injected cells). If necessary, the procedure can be repeated with the addition of the required volumes.

Cost of lipofilling of the buttocks

Since the doctor who performs the operation must be highly qualified and have considerable experience, and the clinic must use advanced equipment, lipofilling of the buttocks cannot be cheap.

If you are offered a “super discount” in honor of the anniversary of a medical institution, etc., remember that this may be a marketing ploy to attract clients to a clinic with poorly qualified staff or conditions that do not meet the standards!

On average, the cost of the procedure is as follows:

  • Ukraine – 1000 euros;
  • Russia – 104,000 rubles;
  • Czech Republic – 65,000 Czech crowns;
  • Egypt (Cairo) – 1600 US dollars;
  • Tunisia – 2300 USD
  • USA – 4000 dollars.

Technique and features of the operation

Lipofilling of the buttocks can be performed under either local or general anesthesia. At the first stage of the operation, the surgeon makes small punctures of 2-3 mm in the pre-treated (infiltrated) area of adipose tissue sampling. It is important that the area contains sufficient fat needed for grafting.

Next, the fat is sucked out using cannulas - thin tubes with a rounded end and a special device that provides low negative pressure. The selected adipose tissue is processed - filtered, cleared of impurities (blood, emulsified fat cells, etc.). Once the required degree of purification has been achieved, the autologous fat is injected into previously marked and also infiltrated problem areas using cannulas. The distribution of the graft in the form of small “beads” of fat is carried out in the area of subcutaneous adipose tissue and in the intermuscular space during the reverse movement of the cannula in various ways - fan-shaped, crosswise, in a row, etc. Thus, the entire problem area of tissue is covered layer by layer with a kind of “lattice” with a honeycomb-like structure.

Upon completion of this procedure, the puncture sites are sutured with single interrupted sutures using the finest thread and an atraumatic needle, which ensures rapid healing of the wounds and the almost complete absence of postoperative marks.

Lipofilling of the buttocks is one of the longest (up to 6 hours) operations, which is associated with the process of sampling, preparing and implanting relatively large volumes of fat.

Reviews

Reviews about the procedure are neutral. The positive aspects, according to the patients, include the fact that the buttocks acquire rounded, even contours, look natural, the skin on them is tightened, the manifestations of cellulite disappear to some extent, and the fat donor areas become much thinner.

However, women also note the negative aspects of the operation: a rather painful and uncomfortable rehabilitation period, resorption of a significant amount of injected fat and the need for corrective procedures, and in some cases, consequences in the form of asymmetry of the butt, lumpy skin, and infection of adipose tissue.

Patients who have had a difficult recovery period regret that they did not try to improve the appearance of their body in the gym.

Experts, given the high cost of the buttock lipofilling and possible serious complications, advise you to think again before announcing your final decision. But when did anything stop us, women, from the goal of becoming even more beautiful and the desire to acquire appetizing forms?!
