Electrolipolysis is an effective method of fighting fat

The essence of the process

Unspent fat cells are deposited in a “depot”. If necessary, they are extracted and broken down, releasing energy in several stages, until they reach their simplest forms: fatty acids and glycerol. With the flow of blood and lymph, the final product enters the excretory organs and is excreted, as a rule, by the kidneys. This process is called lipolysis and is triggered by enzymes and hormones.

To target problem areas locally, non-invasive methods of fat breakdown are used. To do this, they resort to light, ultrasound, and modulated currents. Electrolipolysis uses a pulsed current of variable frequency and depth. The effect extends in three directions:

  • Softening of lipocyte membranes, cell destruction, accelerated fat breakdown.
  • Activation of the synthesis of enzymes responsible for metabolism, evacuation of decay products, and removal of excess fluid.
  • Increased blood flow and oxygen supply in the affected area.

Dissolved fat cells are removed in the usual way, without additional procedures.

Electrolipolysis procedure

The procedure is carried out in a special room equipped with appropriate equipment. Duration is 45-60 minutes. Skin magnetic electrodes are attached to problem areas (arms, legs, thighs, abdomen) (or needles are inserted under the skin) and the device is turned on.

Cutaneous electrolipolysis stimulates cells to high energy expenditure, and fats accumulated in the body are quickly and effectively burned, and their remains are eliminated through the genitourinary system.

With needle electrolipolysis, the patient experiences quite strong pain, so this method is not as widely popular as the cutaneous method. However, everyone who has resorted to this procedure notes that the pain and small bruises left on the body are a very low price to pay for such a noticeable effect of the procedure.

The electrolipolysis procedure is divided into three stages:

  • The breakdown of fat cells, when the client feels a slight, gradually increasing tingling sensation in the skin.
  • Pushing out cell breakdown products from the body. This stage is the most unpleasant feeling. The patient experiences quite severe discomfort throughout the body.
  • Tightening and toning of the skin. During the third stage, the patient feels alternating relaxation and tension of the body muscles.

According to reviews, it is useful to combine electrolipolysis with massage, lifting, hot wraps, myostimulation, and lymphatic drainage. Thus, lymphatic drainage done after lipolysis effectively removes breakdown products from the body and does not allow fat cells to recover.

Types of electrolipolysis

Electrolipolysis provides two types of effects. The choice of method depends on the localization of deposits, area, and depth of the subcutaneous fat layer.

  1. Electrode method. It uses electrically conductive plates of various diameters. They are attached with elastic bandages to problem areas using a contact medium. This method does not cause unpleasant sensations, but the deep layers are not affected, and the effect is less noticeable.
  2. Needle method. Thin electrodes in the form of needles up to 10 cm long with an optimal distance between the needles of 5 cm are inserted into the treatment area. Thus, electric current is supplied directly to the problem area. The method has significant advantages; it helps to get rid of cellulite, which is not affected by most cosmetic procedures. At the end of the course, the result is superior to liposuction, since it does not require surgical intervention. The only negative is the discomfort at the time of insertion of the electrodes.

The current is supplied “as it feels”, the procedure is considered painless, and therefore does not require preliminary anesthesia.

Types of lipolysis

There are a number of methods for this procedure. This is the breakdown of fat by injections, current, ultrasound, laser. Each of the listed methods has certain nuances.

Injectable

This technology is based on the introduction under the skin of drugs containing lipase and causing the destruction of fat deposits. The technique is recommended for those who have small fat deposits. With the help of injection lipolysis, adipose tissue is eliminated from different areas. It allows you to effectively treat stage 2 cellulite. To obtain a lasting effect, a minimum of ten procedures are required. One session is carried out every 14-20 days.

Electrolipolysis

Involves the effect of electric current on fat cells. There are 2 types:

  • Needle - when thin needles of long length are inserted into fat deposits and a low frequency current passes through them. It causes the destruction of adipocytes, promoting their removal. The effect is felt after five procedures, but consolidation requires ten procedures.
  • Electrode – involves fixing a special pad on any problematic area, with the help of which electrical impulses are applied in series. They do not lead to the destruction of adipose tissue cells, but reduce the volume of the latter. To achieve a sustainable effect, it is necessary to carry out ten procedures, and for consolidation, a combination with drainage is highly desirable.

This procedure allows you to reduce weight, get rid of cellulite, improve blood circulation and muscle tone. This method is used to remove large accumulations of fat, while the electrode method is used for correction to a small extent (elimination of fat in the shoulder or waist area).

Radio frequency

It is the effect of short radiofrequency pulses on the treated area, as a result of which the subcutaneous tissue is heated, which reduces the size of fatty tissue. RF lipolysis smoothes out the orange peel of cellulite, models the contours of the body, reduces the amount of fat in the areas of breeches, chin, arms, and abdomen. One course includes ten sessions; as a result of one procedure, the volume is reduced by 2 centimeters.

Ultrasonic

This technique is based on the ability of ultrasound to have a destructive effect on the cell membrane of adipose tissue. When the membrane is destroyed, fat enters the bloodstream, from where it is removed by the liver. This method makes it possible to eliminate adipose tissue only partially (up to 300 g), for this reason it is recommended for people with small fat deposits. During one session, it is possible to reduce the volume of a certain area by two centimeters. The technique is suitable for reducing the volume of fat deposits in problematic areas (hips, buttocks, waist), eliminating cellulite. One course includes from three to seven sessions, repeated once weekly.

Laser

During this procedure, adipocytes are destroyed due to selective photothermolysis. A laser acts on adipocytes, causing destruction of the latter’s membranes, penetration of fat into the blood, and reduction in the size of adipose tissue. In addition, laser radiation causes a lifting effect, so the skin located in the treated area improves its elasticity. This type of lipolysis has a delicate lipolytic effect and for this reason is used to eliminate fat deposits on the cheeks, back, chin, armpits, and thighs from the inside. To obtain a lasting result, ten procedures are required, carried out twice weekly.

Statistics indicate that 20 percent of women lose excess weight using laser lipolysis. Men also often use this method. Its significant prevalence is also due to the fact that laser lipolysis allows, in addition to body correction, to also tighten the skin and increase its firmness and elasticity.

Due to the laser effect, collagen fibers are compressed, which leads to the activation of the natural tissue repair mechanism.

Laser lipolysis has certain differences from cryolipolysis. Laser lipolysis only reduces the size of adipose tissue cells, while cryolipolysis completely destroys them and does not allow them to be restored.

During one session of laser lipolysis, it is possible to eliminate 350-50 cm of fat. The size is directly determined by the personal characteristics of the client and the technique used.

Vacuum

This method of fat breakdown is the most aggressive, since during the procedure there is a risk of damage to the skin. The effect scheme includes the formation of pressure on the problematic area of the skin, which helps to increase the intensity of lymph outflow and accelerate blood circulation in the capillaries. This causes a reduction in the size of fatty tissue in the area that is being treated. This method allows you to remove fat from the abdomen, thighs and upper limbs. There are seven procedures in one course.

Lipolysis effect

Lipolysis leads to the following results:

  • Effective and irreversible destruction of fat deposits with prevention of their restoration;
  • Normalization of blood circulation;
  • Removing the “orange peel”.

The severity of the results depends on age, body weight, skin type, and lifestyle. Usually the effect comes slowly. However, often the fat folds disappear within the first week after the end of the session. Although sometimes the result is noticeable only after months.

Who is electrolipolysis indicated for?

The procedure is in demand among women as a method of correcting the abdomen, buttocks, and both thighs. It is used as an effective means of combating “orange peel”. The technique has no gender distinctions and is used for the following conditions:

  • unaesthetic excess fat, including lipid metabolism disorders;
  • cellulite areas on the stomach, thighs, buttocks, arms;
  • loose loose skin;
  • varying degrees of leg swelling.

Can be used as an independent remedy or in complex treatment of obesity.

Preparation and conduct of electrolipolysis

Preparing for the procedure does not take much time and effort. Mandatory are: urine and blood tests and hormone testing. At a preliminary consultation, the cosmetologist determines the treatment areas, selects a program, and checks for contraindications.

The procedure is performed on cleansed skin without the use of cosmetics. Immediately before the procedure, you need to drink half a liter of drinking water without gas. Another 2 liters are drunk evenly throughout the day after lipolysis.

Attention! A sufficient amount of water is necessary so that dissolved fat cells do not settle in the bloodstream, but are quickly eliminated from the body.

After skin treatment, one of two electrolipolysis methods is used. The duration of exposure is about 40 minutes, but not more than 1.5 hours. The course consists of 5 to 10 procedures, with a break between them of 7 days. The full period of therapy is 1.5 – 2 months. But the process cannot be accelerated, as this may negatively affect the state of the excretory system.

Electrolipolysis - before and after

Fat cells themselves are inert and lazy, so they are very reluctant to part with triglycerides. And to lose weight quickly, we need to make them work. Electrolipolysis is designed to have an exciting effect on the sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system, and therefore the amount of catecholamines increases in problem areas. Catecholamines, in turn, increase the activity of the enzyme triglyceride lipase, which breaks down triglycerides. This is what contributes to achieving the desired effect.

However, the effect of electrolipolysis is not limited to stimulating the release of catecholamines. Electric current also helps to change the membrane potential of fat cells, as a result of which the body begins to intensively consume energy.

The electrolipolysis procedure promotes heating of adipose tissue, which causes rapid degradation of fat deposits. In addition, circulatory processes are stimulated in the problem area, lymphatic drainage is accelerated, and the influx of arterial blood and the outflow of venous blood are increased. As a result, the body's cells are intensively supplied with oxygen and toxins are removed from the body. Therefore, by comparing your body before and after electrolipolysis, you can see the disappearance of cellulite and effective weight loss, and the skin becomes firm, elastic and soft. In addition, a significant percentage of lipids permanently leaves the adipose tissue, which ensures a lasting effect.

Expected effect

The effect of the procedure is based on three processes: increased lymphatic drainage, lipolysis itself, and muscle stimulation . The functions are sequentially included in one program and do not require changing the position of the electrodes. Accordingly, the result is the following:

  • reduction in the volume of subcutaneous fat;
  • elimination of lumpy deposits of cellulite;
  • removal of edema;
  • toning muscles and skin.

Positive changes are not noted immediately, but after 2–3 weeks. This is the time required for the liver and lymph system to eliminate metabolized cells. The result of the needle method is more pronounced; the electrode method requires additional procedures: massage, wraps.

Electrolipolysis: reviews

Anna, 28 years old, Moscow

I have a typical situation: after the birth of a child, my figure changed, not for the better. Not ugly, but with all the charms of a woman. Although I knew about hardware methods for eliminating shortcomings, I somehow didn’t dare to go, and I didn’t have time. And then at the metro they handed me a piece of paper with a promotion for a beauty salon. This pushed me to take myself seriously.

I agreed to needle electrolipolysis for a course of 10 procedures, I wanted a real result, and besides, I am tolerant of injections. But I didn’t expect that there would be so many needles... Of course, the sensation was not pleasant. But the redness quickly disappeared after 2 days, but the changes became noticeable.

You won’t believe the effect was achieved without additional procedures, diets or fitness. The tummy has become beautiful, toned, minus 2.5 cm in volume, you can wear a tight-fitting dress, and the hips are just right - without any cellulite. By the way, the price is not exorbitant - 1200 rubles. for 1 session. For such money such a significant result. Simply great!

Yulia, 26 years old, Cheboksary

I decided that I’d stop wasting money on my beautiful self and signed up for electrolipolysis at the salon. It’s great, you’re lying there, like in a space movie, and you’re wearing plaques with wires. You just feel the currents inside, hitting the cellulite. After the fifth procedure, my shape became more toned, cellulite on the hips is not so visible, and I still doubted the result for only 500 rubles. Now I think, to consolidate it, I still need to sign up for lymphatic drainage. I’ll try to stop gobbling up buns so that my husband will like me even more. And this is not my last trip to tighten my beautiful shape.

Maria, 35 years old, Moscow region

I wanted to lose weight so much... But after the first procedure I realized that it wasn’t meant to be. I liked the procedure itself, I came out inspired, I think: electrolipolysis will help me achieve the result as in the photo. But when I was returning home, I suddenly felt so uneasy, I could barely make it. So if you know about your high blood pressure or weak heart, it is better not to think about electrode lipolysis. They didn’t even ask me about my illnesses, much less tell me that hypertensive patients couldn’t.

Vika, 23 years old, Saratov

After studying a sea of information and reviews, I decided that electrolipolysis was what I needed to correct my flaws. I have severe stretch marks on my stomach that did not decorate my body. But at the beauty and health center, where such procedures are available, they told me that the effect would be from 10-15 procedures, and not, as I thought, from 2-3. You need to go every week and for more than one month... And the procedure itself turned out to be more medical, you couldn’t call it pleasant. In the end, I'm not happy. I won't say it was unsuccessful. It seems that after the 3rd hardware session there was a noticeable improvement, stretch marks began to smooth out, and my waist became thinner, I noticed in my clothes. But then I no longer felt the effect. I expected more from the procedures.

Elena, 42 years old, St. Petersburg

I never believed in the effectiveness of hardware methods and saw this with my own eyes. A friend encouraged me to undergo electrolipolysis. I think that the effect of a massage is no less, you get pleasure from it, and it costs less, unlike Italian electrolipolysis devices. And my friend is delighted, she does some other procedures along with cellulolipolysis. But I didn't anymore.

Who is contraindicated for electrolipolysis?

Compared to liposuction, electrolipolysis is a fairly harmless method, but it has absolute contraindications:

  • neoplasms of any origin;
  • artificial pacemaker;
  • the presence of metal implants in the treatment area;
  • arterial hypertension;
  • presence of blood clots;
  • severe kidney pathologies;
  • liver failure;
  • violation of the outflow of bile.

Time restrictions apply to the period of pregnancy and lactation. The procedure is not performed in case of violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of exposure, pustular inflammation, or febrile conditions.

Side effect

In the absence of contraindications, electrolipolysis is well tolerated. The likelihood of side effects depends on the characteristics of the body and the qualifications of the cosmetologist. It is important to strictly follow the requirements throughout the entire period of therapy. Negative consequences included:

  • allergic response of the body;
  • increased urination;
  • hyperemia, local swelling in the area of insertion of needle-electrodes;
  • pain when moving in the affected areas.

Attention! If the manipulations are carried out correctly, all side effects are temporary. If your body temperature rises, pain intensifies, or swelling persists, you should urgently seek advice.

Important Tips

Electrolipolysis alone will not make the figure sculptural, especially with advanced deposits. The technique is combined with other types of procedures. It is necessary to maintain a drinking regime before, during and after sessions. When using the needle method, warming massage and significant physical activity are allowed only after completion of the course.

It is important to understand that lipid metabolism disorders are the result of a sedentary lifestyle, poor nutrition, excessive stress and lack of sleep. Moderate exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep will help maintain your health and figure.

The advantage of the technique is non-surgical relief from the problem. When deciding on the electrolipolysis , it is better to contact a specialized clinic with a certificate to provide such services.

Side effects

This is a relatively painless cosmetic procedure, although patients may experience discomfort from the initial injections. There may be some swelling of the treated areas of the body.

Electrolipolysis causes an increase in urination in the first couple of days after the procedure.

Because it is a non-invasive procedure, patients can return to work immediately after treatment, although hot showers and baths are best avoided for eight hours after treatment. Patients should refrain from excessive exercise and massage during the first week after treatment.

In addition to drinking water, moderate exercise is advisable before and after treatment to stimulate blood circulation in the treated areas to remove residual fat.
