Gel and cream Differin for wrinkles: reviews, how to use

Sooner or later, every woman experiences a period when she begins to turn her attention to cosmetic products aimed at skin rejuvenation. Currently, there are a huge number of lotions, creams and gels on the market that prevent the appearance of wrinkles on the face and neck. But not all products are as effective as manufacturers advertise. There are topical medications that contain more effective ingredients, for example Differin cream, intended for the treatment of acne. Reviews of Differin for wrinkles show that this product can cope not only with rashes on the face.

Does Differin help against wrinkles?

Differin is a complex medical product from a French pharmaceutical company. It is produced on the basis of one of the forms of retinoic acid. The drug has a lasting aesthetic effect and is intended for the treatment of recurrent acne. Several years ago, experts found Differina another purpose in cosmetology - an effective remedy for wrinkles. Numerous reviews of people who used the acne remedy showed that their skin not only became noticeably cleaner, but also acquired a uniform shade, elastic and firm structure.

The main function of smoothing the skin relief is performed by adapalene, an innovative synthetic compound, which, due to its chemical structure and properties, has an antiseptic and antioxidant effect. This component can effectively fight not only inflammatory processes, but also deep wrinkles. Therefore, using the cream for cosmetic purposes will significantly improve the condition of aging skin.

Reviews

Differin gel for acne and acne is often used against wrinkles. The presence of retanol in the composition helps to get rid of any age-related changes in the skin. Quite often, the product is used to get rid of the first signs of aging - small wrinkles located in the nasolabial folds.

Since it contains not retinolic acid itself, but its analogue, a complication in the form of severe photosensitivity is excluded. The product is well suited for use at any time of the year and day. Can be used without restrictions, both in the morning and at night.

Another use for women's skin is as a peeling. The cream is made on the basis of non-toxic alkali. This allows you to get rid of dead and hardened dermis. Often used together with a scrub or some kind of mask, anti-aging cream, or other means.

Can have the same effect as a rejuvenating serum. With regular use, it can get rid of deep wrinkles. It also helps to refresh the complexion, even out its tone, get rid of natural changes and age spots.

Reviews from cosmetologists

Elena Ivanovna, practicing cosmetologist.

Differin is a good anti-wrinkle remedy. The gel has virtually no contraindications and is safe for sensitive skin. If you have problems with wrinkles, try this remedy.

We hope that you understand the difference between acne and pimples, because Differin will be effective against acne, but not against acne. Acne on the skin of the face may look like -

  • or as white bumps (so-called closed comedones, Fig. 5),
  • or as black dots in the pores of the skin (open comedones, Fig. 6).

Blackheads are simply fatty plugs in the pores of the skin, which are formed due to excess oil secretion by the sebaceous glands and due to a large number of desquamated epithelial cells. With acne, there is still no inflammation in the hair follicle.

Pimples are a continuation of the development of acne. After all, acne (fat plugs) create a closed space in the hair follicles, and this is the condition for the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria inside the follicle. Thus, the acne transforms into a pimple (Fig. 7), and pus gradually forms inside the pimple.

Conclusions:

  • Effective against acne - the drug will be very effective against closed acne in the form of white tubercles. Differin for blackheads (i.e. for closed acne) will also be no less effective. It must be said that drugs of the retinoid group, which include Differin, are the gold standard for the treatment of acne throughout the world. A weaker alternative to retinoids for acne can be preparations based on azelaic or salicylic acids.
  • Effectiveness for acne – the drug will not be effective for acne in any form! Proper treatment of acne primarily involves the use of drugs based on benzoyl peroxide, which have a high antimicrobial effect, as well as antibacterial gels.
  • When there are both acne and acne at the same time, this drug can be used, but not as monotherapy, but if it is combined with drugs based on benzoyl peroxide, or antibacterial gels (it is best to use the latter, since in this case combined irritation is possible there will be less skin).

Differin how to use

From this article you will learn:

  • cream and gel Differin - instructions for use,
  • reviews from a practicing dermatologist,
  • Differin – price for 2020.

Differin is a drug in the form of a cream or gel intended for the treatment of acne. It is produced by a French pharmaceutical company specializing in the production of drugs for the treatment of skin diseases. The drug can be used in patients over 12 years of age; available without a prescription.

Today in pharmacies you can find a huge number of drugs for the treatment of acne and pimples, most of which are ineffective. The variety of drugs makes it difficult to make the right choice - specifically for your situation. This article was prepared by a professional dermatologist, and it will allow you to understand whether Differin will be effective in your situation.

Reviews for the drug Differin will depend on the correct choice of the drug release form. The gel is suitable for patients with oily and normal skin. For patients with dry skin, the cream form is preferable.

Of course, the cream will be slightly less effective than the gel.

However, if you have dry skin and you start using the gel, this will lead to an even greater increase in irritation and dryness of the skin, and ultimately – a completely opposite result from the treatment.

The main active ingredient of the drug is the substance “Adapalene”. Adapalene belongs to a new generation of synthetic retinoids (retinoids also include tretinoin and tazarotene). Differin is available in two forms - as a cream or gel for external use:

  • Differin gel 0.1% – 1 g of gel contains 1 mg of adapalene; as excipients - phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, disodium edetate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, water, carbomer; Poloxamer 182, sodium hydroxide.
  • Differin cream 0.1% – 1 g of gel also contains 1 mg of adapalene; as excipients - carbomer (974 P or 934 P), glycerol, natural squalane, disodium edetate, cyclomethicone, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, methyldextrose sesquistearate, phenoxyethanol, sodium hydroxide, water and macrogol methyldextrose sesquistearate. Available in tubes of 30 g.

Some products designed to combat acne only affect the external symptoms of acne, while others remove the cause itself.

Differin for wrinkles

We often give preference to the first ones - because they bring quick results. But only with the help of drugs of the second group can you cleanse the skin for a long time.

This is exactly how Differin for acne works.

Compound

Differin belongs to the group of retinoids. This is not entirely legal in the sense that the drug does not contain vitamin A (retinol).

But Differin has a similar effect on the skin as retinol, which is why it is classified in this group, despite the structural differences.

Its active substance is adapalene.

It is a derivative of naphthoic acid (and not retinoic acid, like other retinoid drugs).

Excipients in the composition promote better absorption and distribution of the product over the skin; their specific names depend on the form of release of Differin: cream or gel.

Properties

The properties of Differin are entirely related to its active ingredient - adapalene.

Among them the most clearly manifested.

  • Sebostatic. It is associated with a decrease in the production of their secretions by the sebaceous glands. Excess sebum creates a favorable environment for the development of bacteria, and also increases the likelihood of pore clogging when mixed with impurities or keratinized particles of the epidermis.
  • Keratolytic. One of the reasons for clogged pores is dead particles of the epidermis that cannot be exfoliated in time. Adapalene, firstly, prevents excessive keratinization, and secondly, it helps keratinized scales leave the surface of the skin faster. In combination with a normal amount of sebum, we can say that the main cause of acne formation ceases to exist.
  • Comedolytic. Adapalene not only prevents the formation of new comedones, but also helps to get rid of existing ones. Under its action, the plug blocking the sebaceous duct dissolves, the time opens and is cleansed naturally.
  • Anti-inflammatory. This property is based on the ability of adapalene to inhibit the production of enzymes that support the inflammatory process in skin cells.

Thanks to the combination of these actions, Differin for acne has positive reviews.

After all, it eliminates the main reasons that cause the formation of another pimple.

How it works

  • When applied to the skin, the active substance (adapalene) binds to specific cell receptors that respond to retinoic acid, but, unlike retinoids, it does not interact with specific proteins. Therefore, this product has a less irritating effect.
  • Adapalene accelerates the life cycle of cells in the upper stratum corneum of the epidermis, resulting in their rapid renewal. The mouths of the follicles are freed from dead scales, which do not have time to accumulate and form a plug.
  • As a result, not only do new comedones not form, and then acne in their place, but the skin is gradually cleared of existing plugs. It becomes smooth to the touch, and visually acquires an even tone and purity.

Composition and release forms of Differin

Differin is an affordable product that can be purchased at any pharmacy without a doctor's prescription. The main active component in the drug is the substance adapalene. Its concentration usually does not exceed 0.1%, which is the most optimal option for the skin.

Important! Adapalene is a synthetic derivative of retinoic acid. It is produced on the basis of vitamin A, is highly photosensitivity, and penetrates well through the cell membrane due to its low molecular weight compound.

The following substances are used as auxiliary components:

  • glycerol;
  • sodium hydroxide;
  • natural squalane;
  • butyloxyanisole;
  • methylparaben;
  • emulsion wax;
  • Vaseline oil;
  • ethyl alcohol 95%.

Differin is available in a small 30 g aluminum tube, which is placed in a cardboard box. In addition, there are instructions for use. There are 2 forms of release of the drug: in the form of cream and gel. They do not differ in the dosage of the main active substance adapalene and are prescribed depending on the oiliness of the skin.

Differin anti-wrinkle gel

Differin in gel form is intended for people with normal, combination or oily skin. Unlike cream, it acts much harsher, absorbing sebum and drying the skin. For the above skin types, this dosage form of the product is the most effective. According to many women, Differin anti-wrinkle gel has a soft texture, is easily absorbed, and does not leave any traces of a greasy film on the face. When applied to the skin, you do not need to rub it intensively, just spread it in a thin layer and leave until completely absorbed.

Differin anti-wrinkle cream

The drug Differin in the form of a cream is intended for people with sensitive skin, when it can become irritated even from slight mechanical stress. At the same time, such skin requires additional cleansing and moisturizing, which can easily be provided by the excipients of Differin cream. The cream practically does not dry out the skin and is most often used for facial peeling at home.

Is it better to buy Differin in the form of a cream or gel?

  • Apply every day without skipping for at least three months.

Useful properties of Differin ointment for wrinkles

Proper use of Differin ointment can provide an additional anti-aging effect when primarily using anti-aging gels and creams. Thus, folk methods and advice from cosmetologists helped to reveal that the product has the following beneficial properties:

  • evens out skin texture;
  • promotes the disappearance of age spots;
  • provokes more intense collagen production;
  • provides elasticity, perfectly tones and nourishes the skin;
  • helps restore acid-base balance;
  • normalizes sebum production;
  • reduces the intensity of the appearance of facial wrinkles;
  • reduces inflammatory processes in acne.

In some reviews, women are skeptical about the cosmetic properties of Differin in relation to wrinkles. But it has been confirmed more than once that the cream can fight not only acne. It's all about the main component adapalene, which is able to normalize the condition of the skin at the cellular level.

Differin: indications for use

According to the official instructions, Differin gel and cream have the following indications for use:

  • acne (comedones),
  • in the presence of papules and pustules.

Let us draw your attention to the terminology. The term acne implies the presence of only non-inflammatory elements on the skin of the face - such as open and closed comedones (they are also called acne). As for acne, there are 2 types of acne: pustules with pus, and papules (without pus inside). The instructions for Differin also indicate that these indications apply to acne and pimples - only mild to moderate severity.

The severity of the disease is calculated individually, based on the amount of inflammatory and non-inflammatory elements on the facial skin. In severe forms of acne, topical retinoids such as Differin are no longer prescribed. In this case, the first choice drugs will be systemic retinoids based on isotretinoin, which are taken orally. The latter include drugs such as, for example, Roaccutane or Acnecutane.

How to use Differin for wrinkles

Since Differin is an aggressive anti-wrinkle preparation for the skin, it should be used especially carefully for thin and aging skin that suffers from dryness and sensitivity.

Important! Before using the drug Differin for wrinkles, it is recommended to read the instructions and study the list of contraindications and side effects.

In order for the cream to have the desired effect, you should adhere to some rules for applying the product:

  1. Initially, the face must be prepared: cleanse of makeup and other contaminants using a mild cosmetic cleanser that does not contain alcohol.
  2. Then squeeze out a small amount of the product and apply it with gentle massage movements onto the wrinkles.
  3. If the skin under the eyes is particularly sensitive, you should try not to overdo it in that area.
  4. The procedure is especially effective if you apply the cream before bed, since all recovery processes occur during sleep.
  5. To avoid consequences, the application procedure should be performed no more than once a week.
  6. Moisturizing creams and masks can be used simultaneously with Differin anti-wrinkle cream.
  7. To avoid drying out your skin, you should stop using any cosmetics containing alcohol, otherwise there is a risk of causing even more wrinkles.

At the beginning of using the anti-wrinkle drug, a sudden appearance of acne and skin irritation may occur, which disappears during the treatment process. The effect of the procedures begins to appear 8-10 weeks after the start of treatment.

"Skinoren" or "Differin"?

"Skinoren", like "Differin", is available in two dosage forms - gel and cream. By and large, it is ineffective. This Differin analogue deserves attention because it is often used for maintenance therapy after treatment with other drugs. For example, after a course of treatment with Differin for three months, experts recommend switching to the weaker Skinoren, which should be used several times a week for preventive purposes. At the same time, patients can gain, so to speak, a marble complexion, since the medication has whitening properties. Apart from this effect, this remedy has virtually no side effects.

Precautionary measures

The use of the drug Differin for wrinkles increases the photosensitivity of the skin, so after the procedures you should avoid being in direct sunlight to avoid sunburn. If prolonged exposure to the sun is necessary, it is recommended not to apply the cream the day before sun exposure.

The drug should be stored in a dark, cool place away from children. For external use only, apply a thin layer to problem areas, avoiding the area around the eyes and lips. A prerequisite is maintaining the shelf life. The cream can be stored for 3 years after the date of manufacture. After the expiration date, the product must be disposed of, otherwise an allergic reaction may occur.

Use against wrinkles

Reviews for the drug Differin will depend on the correct choice of the drug release form. The gel is suitable for patients with oily and normal skin. For patients with dry skin, the cream form is preferable. Of course, the cream will be slightly less effective than the gel. However, if you have dry skin and you start using the gel, this will lead to an even greater increase in irritation and dryness of the skin, and ultimately – a completely opposite result from the treatment.

How it works

before and after using Differin

Indications

Differin is indicated for the treatment of the following skin problems:

  • teenage acne;
  • acne vulgaris;
  • mild to moderate acne;
  • blackheads and comedones.

The drug is used not only for medicinal but also for preventive purposes.

Can Differin get rid of acne spots?

post-acne

The drug is not specifically intended for this purpose and does not have the desired effect.

Rather, it will help against small scars left on the skin, thanks to the accelerated renewal of the upper layer of the epidermis.

But Differin can get rid of internal acne.

Moreover, both to prevent their appearance and to speed up the cleansing of the resulting purulent cavity. This is evidenced by everyone who has been helped by this drug.

It is possible to use Differin in combination with other drugs, both external and systemic.

For example, for more severe forms of acne or subcutaneous acne, its action alone may not be enough.

But this issue is decided by the doctor who prescribes the treatment.

Contraindications

Differin should be used only as prescribed by a doctor, since the drug has contraindications for use:

  • use of other drugs from the group of retinoids (both external and systemic);
  • some skin diseases (dermatitis, eczema);
  • wounds, abrasions, burns on the skin where the product is supposed to be applied (for example, on the face);
  • the presence of skin tumors;
  • periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Doctors do not recommend using the drug during pregnancy

Advantages and disadvantages

Like many potent drugs, Differin has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of the drug include:

  • it is specially designed for acne and acne;
  • effectively cleanses the face of comedones and blackheads;
  • is more gentle on the skin (compared to other retinoids);
  • can be used for acne on any part of the body where the problem is more or less permanent (on the face, back, chest, legs).

These significant advantages, unfortunately, are diluted by disadvantages:

  • in the first days after the start of treatment, an exacerbation occurs;
  • dries and irritates the epidermis;
  • existing acne may heal more slowly than usual when using this drug;
  • increases skin sensitivity to any irritants, especially ultraviolet radiation;
  • relatively high cost.

Considering that Differin is a fairly strong drug, it is used once a day, preferably at night.

  • The skin is pre-cleansed and dried.
  • The product is applied in a very thin layer to the rash areas. Spot application is also possible.

To prevent acne, you can use Differin on the T-zone - on the chin, nose and forehead.

instructions for use of the drug Differin

Instructions for use of Differin draw attention to the following nuances:

  • There is no need to rub Differin into the skin or use large quantities of the product, this will lead to more pronounced side effects;
  • when applying cream or gel, it is necessary to avoid mucous membranes and areas around the eyes and lips;
  • During treatment, it is necessary to avoid sunlight and avoid procedures in the solarium;
  • It is not recommended to use products with a drying effect for skin care during the entire treatment period.

From blackheads

effective remedy for blackheads

Differin can be used for blackheads, even if acne as such does not bother you.

But this should be the only drug to eliminate this cosmetic defect.

Put all scrubs and exfoliants aside for a while.

  • To combat blackheads, Differin is used with an interval of 2-3 days between uses.
  • Pre-clean your skin and let it dry thoroughly.
  • Apply it in a very thin layer, without rubbing, to those areas where the problem needs to be eliminated. This is usually the T-zone.

After 2-3 procedures, itching and flaking may appear.

If they are strong, then in the intervals between using Differin, apply Bepanten or a product with a similar effect to the skin.

Depending on individual characteristics, 3-5 procedures are enough for the skin to become even and smooth to the touch, and blackheads to disappear.

After this, you need to take a break of a month and a half.

Among medications similar to Differin, one can distinguish structural analogues (with the same active ingredient) and drugs with a similar effect on the skin.

The first group of funds includes:

  • Klenzit gel;
  • Adapalene gel;
  • Adaklin cream;
  • Adolen gel.

They differ from Differin only in cost and availability in pharmacies.

Each of these products is based on adapalene, and they are intended to solve the same problems (blackheads and mild to moderate acne).

Why do white pimples appear on the head? Find out here.

When using Differin, some symptoms accompanying treatment occur.

You should not be afraid of them, just as you should not immediately stop taking the drug. They are completely natural and understandable from a physiological point of view.

Moisturizing masks and creams can help with dryness and flaking. They should be used separately from Differin, for example, in the first half of the day.

The drug regulates the formation of epithelial cells, promotes their keratinization and transformation into scales. It can be used either independently or in combination with other drugs, depending on the nature of the disease.

Contraindications and side effects

Preparations containing the substance adapalene have a whole list of absolute and relative contraindications, so not everyone can use Differen.

Absolute contraindications include the following diseases and conditions:

  • children under 12 years of age;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • individual intolerance to the main and auxiliary components;
  • allergic manifestations;
  • increased sensitivity;
  • malignant formations.

There are also relative contraindications. These include thermal and mechanical damage to the skin resulting from disease or injury. Dermatological diseases in the acute stage, for example, seborrhea, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, are also a contraindication to the use of Differin.

Possible manifestations include dryness and burning of the skin, peeling, a feeling of tightness and discomfort, acne, soreness and swelling of the skin. On the part of the visual organs, swelling, itching and irritation of the eyelids are observed.

Important! If adverse reactions occur, treatment should be suspended until they disappear completely or the frequency of use should be reduced.

Adapalene, which is part of Differin, has a comedolytic effect (i.e. helps remove acne and also prevents their formation), as well as anti-inflammatory and sebostatic effects. The action of the drug is based on the effect of adapalene on the epithelial cells that line the inside of the hair follicle.

As you know, acne occurs due to 2 factors -

  • due to increased production of sebaceous glands (sebum),
  • due to hyperkeratosis of the epithelium of the hair follicle, as a result of which a large number of desquamated dead epithelial cells accumulate in the lumen of the follicle. Excess fat secretion and desquamated cells lead to blockage of skin pores and the formation of acne (Fig. 3-4).

Adapalene affects the epithelium of the hair follicle, regulating the processes of keratinization and desquamation of dead cells, which leads to a sharp decrease in the number of desquamated epithelial cells in the lumen of the follicle. As a result, the formation of fat plugs (blackheads) in the skin pores ceases.

What is better to choose for wrinkles - Differin or age-related cosmetics

Cosmetologists do not give a clear answer to the question of which cosmetics are better - special anti-aging anti-wrinkle or Differin cream, originally developed for the treatment of acne. An excellent option is to combine two cosmetics. To do this, the use of Differin anti-wrinkle cream can be aimed at exfoliating the upper keratinized layers of the skin, thus creating a peeling effect. One procedure per week is enough.

The undoubted advantage of a good anti-aging cream is its daily use. To do this, it is advisable to purchase a nourishing or moisturizing cream and apply it every morning and evening after washing your face. Don't forget about caring masks prepared at home. Such an integrated approach will not only prolong the youth of the skin, but also help improve its condition.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the drug.

CAREFULLY. Dermatitis, eczema.

The main contraindication to the use of the ointment is considered to be hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. If there is no exact information about allergies, apply a small amount of cream to the back of your hand before use. Wait a few hours and monitor the skin’s reaction to an unfamiliar product.

You cannot use the drug if you are currently undergoing rejuvenation procedures. Do not combine with retinolic acid-based serums as it may cause an overdose. Before combining it with other courses, it is better to consult your doctor.

Reacts poorly in combination with drugs that greatly dry out the dermis. Possible consequences include irritation, flaky skin, redness and other similar symptoms. It is forbidden to use if there are any neoplasms, eczema and burns, scratches and wounds on the face. The main contraindication is seborrheic dermatitis.

Cannot be used on children - must wait until adolescence. Not recommended during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.

Differin analogs

With all the significant advantages of Differin, it has one significant drawback - its price. On average, the cost of a 30 g tube is 800 rubles. There are drugs with a similar composition, but at the same time cheaper in cost compared to Differin. Such drugs are called generics, that is, they have a similar composition and components, but for some reason they are sold under a different name. Most often this happens for 2 reasons:

  1. Another manufacturer has a patent for this product.
  2. The patent protection for the drug has expired.

In this case, generics are released without the consent of the patent holder, under a different brand.

Important! First of all, the release of generics is necessary for the population, so that in the absence of one drug there is an opportunity to purchase another without wasting time.

There are 3 known drugs that have a composition similar to Differin. This cream is Adolen, Adaklin, Klenzit.

Adolen is a product for external use in the form of a gel. Available in aluminum or laminate tubes of 3, 5, 10, 15, 30 g. Despite the fact that the drug is produced in Russia, it is quite difficult to find it in pharmacies. The cost of a 15 g medication is approximately 85 rubles.

Adaklin is a 0.1% cream, available in a 30 g tube. The price range of the product is 500-600 rubles. Country of origin: India. To achieve the effect of getting rid of wrinkles, experts recommend using the cream for 4-8 weeks continuously.

Reviews from cosmetologists about Differin for wrinkles

Irina Kotova, dermatocosmetologist, Moscow

Differin is a fairly active agent, the main purpose of which is to fight acne. Since Differin is an analogue of synthetic retinoids, it is quite successfully able to rejuvenate the skin, even out its texture, restore natural color, and remove age spots. It helps the skin become thinner and exfoliate properly. The main limitation is its poor compatibility with the sun, so if you need to go on vacation, use of the product should be postponed.

Igor Patrin, dermatologist-cosmetologist, St. Petersburg

Differin cream belongs to the category of products that was originally developed for the treatment of acne, closed comedones and even blackheads. But thanks to its composition and properties, the cream has been successfully used by women as an anti-aging agent for a long time. The main active ingredient in the cream is adapalene, a substance similar to retinoic acid. As a result of the action of this substance, collagen synthesis is stimulated, the skin becomes firmer and more elastic. The only drawback is the high cost of the drug - on average about 1000 rubles.

Composition of Differin gel

Methods of application

It is better to use the cream just before bedtime. Apply it in gentle strokes to affected or wrinkled areas. Be sure to apply a thin layer of the product to avoid overdose. Before this, be sure to clean the dermis. The top can be moistened with bepanthenol or other creams.

However, you should not clean your face with alcohol-containing products, including lotions. You cannot use regular soap. The best option is a special washing gel. Additional peeling should be avoided. Also, before applying the product, be sure to remove all makeup using thermal water.

When applying, avoid damaged skin areas. Do not apply the product to fresh or open wounds. It's better to wait until the scratches go away and heal completely. Avoid the area around the lips, eyes, and nose. Can be applied to shoulders, back and décolleté.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with running water. If there is severe itching and blurred vision, or the eye hurts for a long time, be sure to consult a doctor.

The recommended treatment period is about 3 months, once a day.

pharmachologic effect

Differin has several side effects, but often they are not noticeable. Mostly women only complain about mild tingling and irritation in particularly sensitive areas of the face. When using on dry skin, it is better to mix with oil or moisturizer.

The affected areas may change color and experience minor redness and peeling. In rare cases, mild contact dermatitis occurs. With frequent use and ignoring problems with the dermis, weeping eczema may occur.

Most complications are reversible. They initially intensify with treatment, but decline over time. Usually the symptoms stop after the middle of the course, otherwise the drug should be discontinued. If the side effects are too pronounced, then Differin is also prohibited from use.

If the symptoms do not disappear on their own, be sure to consult a doctor. In this case, a dermatologist will help. You may need to use restorative or moisturizing medications. Complications cannot be ignored, as they can develop into serious dermatitis.

Rules for differential exfoliation

As a peeling, Differin is mainly used at home. Cosmetologists call this peeling a budget analogue of professional retinoic procedures. In the case of Differin, the cost of one peeling session will vary within 200 rubles (a tube of cream or gel in pharmacies costs about 900 rubles, one package is enough for 4-5 procedures). One session of retinoic peeling in a salon costs approximately 2000-3000 rubles (depending on the formulations used and the level of cosmetology). The effect of Differin peels will be similar to professional exfoliation, but more home sessions may be required. In any case, the drug will help you save money on beauty and not lose quality.

Differin peeling is performed in several stages:

  • facial skin is thoroughly cleansed of remnants of cosmetics and care products;
  • apply a thick layer of differin composition to the skin, avoiding the area around the lips and eyes;
  • the peeling agent is left to act for 1.5-2 hours;
  • Differin residues are removed from the face with warm water.

The day after the Differin peel, your facial skin will become red and more sensitive. Approximately 2-3 days after peeling, slight peeling of the skin will appear, which can only be eliminated with the help of moisturizers or wound-healing agents. It is prohibited to remove detachments yourself; this can lead to the formation of dense scar tissue underneath them. Before each exit outside after differin peeling, it is recommended to apply sunscreen with SPF 35 to the face. During rehabilitation after adapalene peeling, it is not recommended to use foundations and alcohol-based care products.

Instead of peeling, Differin makes facial skin smooth. Along with comedones and inflammatory rashes, a network of fine wrinkles and light pigmentation disappears. You can repeat peeling with Differin no more than once a month.
