Rubbing your face with ice - benefits and harms for facial skin

Hello everyone, my dear girls. Half of the summer has passed, and I don’t know about you, but I didn’t even notice that it was summer, because the weather was like the beginning of autumn (although some were luckier). And of course, like a true woman, I became hysterical about this.

I decided to use proven methods of struggle. Of course, the easiest thing would be to go to a salon, to see professionals. This is very good, but this is a different story, because sometimes I don’t have enough time to eat, and I generally keep quiet about visiting salons. So, meet my memoirs about the benefits and harms of wiping your face with ice.

How to carry out the procedure correctly

As I have already said in some of my articles, in all my endeavors I choose myself or my husband as a guinea pig. This case was no exception, and I decided to try rubbing ice cubes with herbs on my face in the morning. Of course, to begin with, I studied in detail all kinds of information on the Internet, watched a whole bunch of videos and photos, and now I believe that it is my sacred duty to enlighten you in the details of preparing ice and wiping.

Let's see how to prepare the right ice, after rubbing it with which you will immediately feel that your skin is grateful to you, or, at least, does not curse you for constantly experimenting with it:

  • It is best to use mineral water to make ice.
  • Use only fresh and high-quality products. Here you will probably say that I wrote utter nonsense, because the basis of ice is water, and it certainly cannot be expired

I assure you, my dears, anything can happen in this world, so before making ice, make sure that the water you use has not been on the store shelf since it opened.

  • Before freezing, carefully strain the infusions to remove small particles. After all, these particles can be anything: from a small insect - an innocent victim of the process of collecting herbs, to a thorn that can injure the skin of the face during wiping. Although, the option with insects is also not particularly impressive, and may discourage any desire to repeat the procedure
  • Mix all components thoroughly before distributing into molds; all pieces of ice must be identical in composition
  • It is best to use plastic or silicone containers, oh, how much silicone has become in our lives lately, isn’t it?
  • It is recommended to store the cubes for no more than two weeks. They, of course, will not become moldy, but they will lose their freshness

How to wipe your face with ice cubes correctly

It is necessary to prepare ice cubes for your face in advance. To create them, you need to take:

  • clean water;
  • a special mold;
  • a decoction of herbs or a small piece of fruit or berry.

In each cell of the mold you need to place a slice of the required product (strawberries, oranges, raspberries, cherries, etc.), fill everything with water. However, it is not recommended to take raw sheath fluid. The optimal solution would be mineral, filtered or settled water. By the way, instead of water, you can take a herbal decoction. Once the mold is full, leave it in the freezer. When the liquid turns into ice, you can begin the procedure. To do this, you need to take a frozen cube and wrap it in a cloth, then wipe your face along the massage lines. First, move from the middle of the forehead and nose to the temporal areas. After this, move from the corners of the lips and the central part of the chin to the earlobes. You should not ignore the upper eyelids, décolleté and neck area.

Important! There is no need to treat one area with ice for more than 2 seconds. Otherwise, instead of beautiful skin, you will get hypothermia.

Wiping Tips

Now let's talk about the wiping itself:

  • It is best to carry out the procedure in the morning; it will very well invigorate skin cells that cannot wake up from hibernation. And, of course, don’t overdo it, you only need to wipe once a day
  • Wipe your face with quick sliding movements
  • After wiping, the face should dry naturally, no need to use a towel
  • The neck and décolleté should also not be neglected, and when wiping your face, do not forget about them
  • Do not do the procedure immediately before going outside, it is better to wait a while
  • To wipe your face comfortably, wrap the ice in a napkin, so it will be comfortable to hold and will not slip off.

Options for preparing vitamin cubes

To prepare a classic version of chamomile ice for the face, you will need only 2 ingredients - clean, good quality water and whole or crushed flower baskets. Proportions – 1 tablespoon of raw materials per 200 gram glass of boiling water.

Pharmaceutical chamomile is poured with boiling water, the container is covered with a lid, left until the liquid cools completely, then filtered through cheesecloth or a fine sieve. The result is a transparent infusion of golden color. It is poured into a molded ice container and frozen.

To relieve fatigue and hydrate

Chamomile combines harmoniously with other herbs; mixing only enhances the healing effect. Ice made from chamomile decoction with the addition of rose hips and sage is suitable for wiping the face of those with dry, aging skin. To prepare 200 g of infusion, take a teaspoon of each type of raw material, the infusion time is half an hour.

This composition will prevent inflammation, nourish the epithelium with moisture, and improve turgor.

To eliminate peeling

If the skin is prone to peeling, it is recommended to add tea tree oil (3-4 drops per glass of liquid) to chamomile ice for the face immediately before freezing. Possible options are lavender oil, sandalwood, rosemary.

For whitening

If fighting freckles is on your agenda, prepare cubes with whitening properties. Chamomile itself has photoprotective properties, but if you add lemon juice (a quarter of the total volume) to the infusion, the whitening effect will only increase.

Anti acne

Chamomile ice for the face is used to get rid of acne. For this purpose, take baskets of chamomile and calendula flowers in equal proportions, for example 1 tablespoon each. The raw material is poured with 400 g of water, brought to a boil, then cooled and frozen.

The composition effectively dries problem areas and relieves inflammation.

Advice! Professional cosmetologists recommend storing ice cubes made from herbal infusions in the freezer for no more than 1–2 weeks. The initial amount of nutrients decreases over time, so it is better to prepare fresh infusions.

Rubbing your face with ice - what's the point?

Women's forums on the Internet are full of rave reviews about the miraculous effect of the “ice wash.” For many women, this procedure has helped tighten the shape of the face, get rid of inflammation, even out skin tone and even prevent the appearance of facial wrinkles.

Is ice really that useful and how does our skin react to it? The positive effect of using ice is as follows: due to the thermal effect, the pores on the face narrow , blood rushes to the skin and begins to move more intensely through the vessels, strengthening them. In addition, together with the blood, nutrients reach the skin faster.

This is the meaning of home cryomassage. But this procedure still has a lot of advantages and certain nuances. We will talk about them below.
