What is Mary Kay peeling?
Facial peelings are presented in two ways:
- TimeWise Repair from Mary Kay - the system includes “Renewing Peeling” and “Pore Tightening Serum.” The main exfoliating ingredient, aluminum oxide, has antiseptic properties.
- Revealing Radiance is an effective remedy for correcting age-related changes based on glycolic acid. Suitable for mature skin of any type. Contains moisturizing plant components and marine collagen, which helps improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles.
What's special
"Mary Kay" peelings are designed to remove dead skin scales. They differ from each other in composition and mechanism of action.
TimeWise Repair is micro-abrasive. Cleansing involves polishing the skin using tiny particles of aluminum oxide. Does not contain fragrances or irritating components.
Revealing Radiance - chemical. Glycolic acid dissolves and lifts the thinnest surface layer of the dermis. It is characterized by a more aggressive effect that stimulates cell restoration.
Operating principle
The purpose of peeling is to remove the top layer of skin, consisting of dead scales, residual fat, dust particles and soot. This cover prevents the dermis from being enriched with oxygen and nutrients. Exfoliating surface particles helps restore youth to the skin and improve its overall condition and appearance.
During the procedure, pores are opened and cleaned, cell nutrition is enhanced due to increased blood circulation. The regeneration mechanism is launched: elastin and collagen - substances on which the elasticity of the skin depends - begins to be intensively produced.
What's included
Both peels contain plant components that have a beneficial effect on the skin, moisturize and soothe it.
- The TimeWise Repair system is enriched with extracts of soybean, silk tree bark, green tea, lavender, cardamom, raspberry, and sea coral. Their combination helps to narrow pores, tones, and refreshes.
- Revealing Radiance, in addition to plant components, contains marine collagen, which provides invaluable support to aging skin.
Mary Kay Facial Peeling Time Wise Peeling System
Hello everyone
For a long time I doubted where to write a review... After all, for some reason everyone writes about the new version in the old thread.
I decided that it would be better to separate the updated product so that it would be easier for girls to navigate.
Let me remind you that I am a Mary Kay consultant, but I am not “a fan of the brand’s cosmetics,” I just talk about what I like and don’t like. In today’s review I will not just express my opinion about the product, but downright scold it!
The updated TimeWise peeling system is subject to criticism. The set includes:
1) renewing peeling;
2) serum to tighten pores.
So, I'll start, as usual, with the packaging.
The set is decorated very beautifully, perfect for a gift. The box is made of thick cardboard, inside there is a case for products (I immediately threw it away, so there will be no photo). Everything is decorated expensively, stylishly and very presentable.
Now I’ll tell you about the products themselves. I'll start with the TimeWise renewing peeling.
From the manufacturer:
TimeWise® Renewing Peel is a super exfoliating cream containing aluminum oxide crystals (crystals used by dermatologists) that instantly polish the skin and gently remove dead skin cells.
The consistency of the peeling is creamy and exfoliates the skin very delicately. My first disappointment was that the product did not pill (but oh well). After use, the skin becomes soft and pleasant to the touch.
TimeWise peeling is the most common scrub. The price separately is 1450 rubles. I think the product is not worth the money. Any scrub with small polishing particles acts similarly.
TimeWise Pore Tightening Serum.
From the manufacturer:
As we age, pores may appear more enlarged due to aging skin and other negative factors. The new TimeWise® pore tightening serum will help stop this process. With regular use, the number of visible pores is significantly reduced.
No no and one more time no. And now in order
The consistency of the serum is slightly thick, easily spreads over the problem T-zone, and is quickly absorbed. The skin becomes matte, but not for long, 4-5 hours maximum. The serum does not shrink pores. Neither visually nor physically.
The product itself is pearlescent in color and contains multi-colored glitter that reflects light (I personally hate putting glitter on my face). It is due to the presence of reflective particles in the product that the “pore-narrowing effect” should be achieved. I will show you visual photos in which, unfortunately, you will not notice any narrowing of the pores.
Before use:
Photo of skin before + macro
Photo after peeling. I see that my pores have become cleaner.
After applying the serum. There are noticeable sparkles on the face, and it was even possible not to take a macro photo.
And now I invite you to compare the “before” and “after” photos. Personally, I don't see the difference.
I have face primers that not only perfectly tighten pores and prepare the skin for applying tone, but also prolong the durability of makeup. I suggest you take a look at how the makeup base works (by the way, in the photo I used Mary Kay primer).
Compare the effectiveness of serum and primer. The effect of narrowing pores is noticeable to the naked eye.
I believe that there is no need for the serum; I have had a bottle on my shelf for six months now. I tried to sell this serum, but it was no use. Nobody is interested in her!
Regarding the manufacturer’s promises, I can only say that this serum will not shrink pores when used regularly. I used it immediately after purchasing it according to the instructions... My pores are gone.
Now a few words about the set as a whole.
The system is assembled correctly and works. After all, if:
1) steam the skin;
2) scrub off dead cells;
3) wash with cold water to close the pores;
4) apply serum with reflective particles,
It is simply impossible not to observe a positive result. But! The scrub is the most ordinary, it doesn’t deserve almost one and a half thousand, and you don’t need to use the serum at all, it’s useless. Primers work much more effectively.
The TimeWise peeling system can be used at any age. The cost of the set is cheaper than the products separately and amounts to 2950 rubles. I do not recommend this system for purchase.
Thank you all, see you in new reviews
Indications for the procedure
Mary Kay peels are superficial and allow you to quickly cleanse and renew your facial skin. A slight violation of the integrity of the integument is enough to start the rejuvenation process.
The procedure is recommended for correcting minor negative manifestations on the skin:
- dull, unhealthy, uneven color;
- tendency to acne and frequent inflammation;
- loss of elasticity;
- dark spots;
- black dots;
- thickening of the epidermis, tuberosity;
- fine wrinkles;
- spider veins (rosacea);
- severe peeling;
- photoaging;
- folliculitis;
- scarring;
- excessive production of sebum;
Advantages and disadvantages
Mary Kay peels are gentle methods of skin correction. The impact occurs on the uppermost (horny) layer; disruption of the integument is not traumatic. The procedure can be carried out either in the salon or independently.
The positive aspects of superficial anti-aging therapy include:
- painlessness;
- minimum of undesirable consequences;
- short recovery period;
The disadvantages are minor and do not overshadow the impression of the result:
- the rejuvenating effect is possible only with the initial signs of aging;
- a course is required - from 5 to 10 sessions;
It is advisable to carry out facial manipulations in a salon; a cosmetologist with education and experience will help to avoid complications.
If self-peeling treatment is intended, you need to follow the recommendations on the packaging, especially in the part that concerns the exposure time of the composition and taking into account contraindications.
Cleaning algorithm
A rejuvenating facial treatment consists of 3 stages: preparation, peeling and recovery. It is necessary to consult a specialist who will select the optimal scheme and determine how many sessions need to be performed.
Pre-peeling preparation
It is performed at home independently and consists of sequential application of creams to thin the epidermis and smooth out the relief. Designed to adapt the skin to the effects of peeling, to create conditions for its greatest effectiveness. It is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of the body and identify contraindications.
Depending on the problem, it is suggested to use moisturizing and whitening components, sunscreens, and fruit acids. Begins 1-2 weeks before the start of the peeling course.
Execution steps
Both peels can be used at home. TimeWise Repair is a scrub containing abrasive microparticles that mechanically remove dead cells. Revealing Radiance is based on glycolic acid, which causes accelerated dissolution and desquamation of horny particles. In both cases, their effect stimulates cellular regeneration, restoring skin firmness and elasticity.
Before the procedure, you must remove makeup and cleanse the skin with lotion or tonic. Peeling is applied with gentle circular movements along massage lines, without affecting the area around the eyes. Keep the composition on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water and apply a regenerating agent.
Mary Kay's TimeWise Repair system includes a special serum, but you can use any moisturizer.
Skin care and recovery
After peeling, the skin needs special protection for a week. Active moisturizing will help avoid flaking and a feeling of tightness. It is recommended to use creams containing shea butter, grape seed butter, and hyaluronic acid.
The skin should be protected from sunlight, so the use of sunscreen cosmetics is mandatory. You will have to forget about baths and saunas for a while.
What is the Mary Kay peeling system?
We already know that peeling is used to remove dead particles from the surface of the skin to enable young cells to provide functional balance. Ideally, our body gets rid of such “ballast” on its own. But over time and under the influence of external and internal factors, this function is somewhat impaired and it is necessary to help the epidermis - to cleanse it “forcibly”.
The Mary Kay Time Weiss facial peeling system is positioned as a universal remedy for carrying out the procedure at home. Or rather, a set of tools, since the kit includes two components:
- the first provides high-quality, gentle exfoliation of the top layer;
- the second tightens pores, soothes the skin, and gives it freshness.
Manufacturers claim that Mary Kay's renewing peeling can show excellent results after the first use. The face becomes soft, fresh, elastic, devoid of any visible defects. In addition, high-quality hydration, nutrition and stimulation of internal processes are guaranteed. The instructions say that (quote): “The peeling procedure enhances the division of cells in the basal layer, as a result of which the skin becomes smooth, its tone is evened out, and it takes on a more youthful and healthy appearance.”
This is where the first question arises. The basal layer can be involved in regeneration processes only during a deep cleaning procedure (this, for a minute, is a stationary manipulation, performed only by experienced specialists). And Mary Kay facial peeling is superficial. Food for thought.
Manufacturers recommend (which is quite natural) to use only a complex of products. It is in this case that a good result and the absence of side effects are guaranteed, since the products are selected in a balanced composition and complement each other’s actions.
Contraindications
Mary Kay peels have a delicate effect on the skin, they can be used at any age, the only difference is the number of sessions. The procedure cannot be performed in the following cases:
- general malaise, high temperature;
- chronic diseases in the acute stage;
- herpes;
- dermatitis;
- eczema;
- sunburn;
- oncological problems;
- scratches, wounds and other types of damage;
- warts;
- individual intolerance to any component;
- pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- diabetes;
- postoperative period.
Renewing peeling Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Refine - reviews
We all dream of beautiful, smooth and healthy skin. We are constantly trying something, looking for a product that will truly fulfill all the promises made by the manufacturer. And we rejoice when we find such a remedy!
So I am very glad that I found a product that delighted me! After using it, I rejoice like a child and let my loved one stroke my face so that he can also appreciate the effect.
And now I hasten to share with you what I liked so much and why)
And this is a product from Mary Kay's two-step system.
TimeWise peeling system
Promises us: healthy, smooth and radiant skin, smoothing skin texture, narrowing pores and getting rid of fine wrinkles.
Step 1:
Renewing peeling Mary Kay TimeWise Microderabrasion Refine
Promises: effective exfoliation and cleansing of pores.
The peeling comes in a soft pink tube. The peeling itself has a thick consistency with tiny abrasive particles that feel reminiscent of baking soda, only even more gentle.
Abrasive particles gently polish the skin without damaging it. This is not a hard scrub with apricot kernels and not even a more delicate analogue with raspberry kernels. This peeling is so gentle on the skin that even my super-sensitive skin reacts more than positively to it.
I apply it to clean, slightly damp facial skin and massage my face with soft circular movements for about a minute or two - until the skin dries and the peeling begins to crumble a little. After I wash my face, I see how my skin has changed.
1. It has become cleaner - the black dots have become much lighter, and some have completely disappeared. 2. The tone of the face has evened out. The face looks refreshed and rested. 3. The skin has become soft and velvety to the touch. 4. Skin tone returns. It becomes more elastic and pleasant to the touch. 5. After application, all peeling disappears. 6. Post-acne marks lighten and even out. 7. Pores become cleaner and narrower.
I wholeheartedly recommend this peeling and, now, I can’t live without it. Now he has settled on my shelf for a long time!
After applying the peeling, I use a cleansing mask and, after it, apply the 2nd stage - Pore Tightening Serum.
Step 2:
Mary Kay TimeWise Pore Minimizer Serum
Promises us to help solve the problem of enlarged pores.
The serum is in a soft pink package with a pump dispenser.
The serum itself has a transparent white shade with a pearl shimmer. It contains tiny reflective particles that are not felt at all on the skin, and in general, they are not visible on the skin.
The serum perfectly moisturizes the skin, preparing it for further application of care products.
The serum narrows the pores, but rather weakly. Just like - WOW! - there is no such. After application there is no feeling of tightness, as usually happens after applying such products (narrowing pores). After application, the skin acquires an “inner glow”, but this is due to the cosmetic effect - reflective particles.
As a makeup product, it works great. As for the care, I was not delighted. Either it's the 1st stage! There - nothing but delight!)
By the way, these products can also be purchased separately, which is what I will do when my peeling ends)
Price:
RUR 2,950
Testing period:
about 3 months.
Grade:
I give the peeling a 5! But the serum is 3.

Possible complications
Undesirable consequences most often arise when you carry out the procedure yourself or fail to follow the recommendations set out in the instructions. Negative manifestations on the skin can be different:
- Allergy . All products applied to the skin at different stages should be tested for the individual reaction of the body. If irritation occurs, antihistamines should be taken.
- Acne is a consequence of improper skin care during the post-peeling period. You should definitely contact a cosmetologist for advice. Most likely, the application of antibacterial ointments will be recommended.
- Pigment spots – occur when vulnerable skin is exposed to sunlight.
