Mix a glass of fresh celandine roots with an equal amount of refined sunflower oil. Place the container in a sunny place and leave for 2 weeks.

Strain, store in a dark glass container, and keep in the refrigerator. Before going to bed, mix 30 ml of solution with 30 ml of fat sour cream, lubricate the affected areas, do not wash off the ointment until the morning.

An oil solution of celandine can be used to lubricate the eyelids and outer ear canals.

4. Yam. Compared to folk remedies, it is better to use medications, among which we cannot fail to note the therapeutic effect of Yam ointment. You can purchase this drug directly at a pet store, as it helps to get rid of a similar pathology in dogs and cats. This ointment contains many substances toxic to the parasite, which allows you to cleanse the skin in a short time. The tar contained in the ointment has a sharp, unpleasant odor that is unpleasant for ticks. 8. Sulfuric ointment. This product can be purchased at a pharmacy at a low cost. The ointment is effective in the fight against numerous skin parasites, including demodex. Sulfur molecules negatively affect the vital activity of the parasite that has settled in the skin, leading to its inhibition. Use sulfur ointment very carefully, as prescribed by a doctor, avoiding application to the lips, eyes and eyelids. The mechanism of action of sulfur ointment on demodex is based on bringing the parasite to death, which is where the positive effect of the ointment is manifested.

All of the above drugs can rid the epithelium of facial mites. To achieve the greatest therapeutic effect, it is recommended to use these remedies as prescribed by your doctor.

How to treat

Treatment of this disease requires long-term therapy. This is due to the fact that many drugs can affect young and adult ticks, but the eggs and larvae still remain intact.

Treatment involves an integrated approach. Dermatologists try to combine local and systemic therapy. For topical use, a dosage form such as an ointment is well suited. Demodex mite ointments are made with a base that is not suitable for feeding mites. As a rule, the base is Vaseline.

It promotes the penetration of medicinal substances deep into the skin. For the treatment of demodicosis, both old Soviet inexpensive ointments (sulfur, ichthyol) and specialized pharmacological ointments (yam ointment, permethrin, trichosexual, zinc ointment, ointment with benzyl benzoate and others) are used. Treatment with this form of drugs lasts from 7 to 28 days. The course of treatment is prescribed by a specialist.

There is an ointment that has proven itself well among dermatologists in the treatment of demodicosis - aversectin ointment. It is important to know that the drug is veterinary and therefore is not sold in regular pharmacies. However, its use in humans is allowed.

When treating with Trichopolum ointment, in addition to local exposure, oral administration of Trichopolum (metronidazole) is necessary.
This will make the treatment more effective. The ointment is used for 14 days, while the tablet form is used for 21 days.

As in all areas of modern medicine, there is a problem with the treatment of pregnant women, because many medications (even local ones) have a detrimental effect on the fetus, which can lead to deformities, malformations or death.

However, there is no such problem in the treatment of demodicosis. Ichthyol ointment is well suited for the treatment of expectant mothers, since it does not enter the bloodstream, but acts exclusively at the site of application.

In addition to ointments, there are new generation cosmetics (as of 2020) that act on the pathogen and “breathe” new life into the skin. These are Manting and Xinshen creams. They were developed by cosmetologists based on natural ingredients (according to the manufacturers).

However, they should be used for a long time - up to six months - for the effect to be noticeable. Also, these creams are quite expensive (the average price of Manting cream in the Russian Federation is 1144 rubles versus 40 rubles for the cost of sulfur ointment) and they are effective only in combination with other creams and lotions from these manufacturers.

Getting rid of demodex on the head

Quite often, Demodex settles in the hair follicles of the scalp. In this case, traditional medicine offers many effective recipes for the fight. A decoction of elecampane roots has proven itself well. To prepare it, take one tablespoon of the dry plant, add boiling water and keep in a water bath for ten minutes. After this, the mixture is infused in a dark place, and then the affected areas of the head are treated with it.

Herbal decoctions are an effective remedy for demodicosis on the head

You can prepare a mixture of plantain and mint leaves, elecampane root, calendula flowers, St. John's wort and violet. The plants are mixed together and filled with boiling water. The finished decoction should be drunk three times a day, one glass.

For demodicosis of the scalp, traditional medicine recommends using a tincture of the roots of the puppeteer. To prepare it you will need the plant itself and alcohol. The roots of the puppeteer are crushed, poured with alcohol and infused for two weeks in a dark place. Next, the resulting mixture is filtered and applied to the scalp several times a day. The course of treatment should not exceed three weeks.
