Homemade masks for dry skin. Masks for dry skin - homemade recipes.

The benefits of masks

Even if you use creams, do not neglect masks. The cream does not have time to penetrate to the required depth, since it is in contact with the skin for too little time. The skin becomes softer, but the effect is short-lived. The mask gives a longer lasting effect, because:

  • The skin receives enough moisture, which eliminates the feeling of skin tightness.
  • Smoothes existing wrinkles and stops the appearance of new ones.
  • The required amount of nutrients and oxygen is delivered deep into the skin, where the cream is unable to penetrate.
  • The negative impact of the environment is reduced.

The main thing is to stop in time, since the epidermis can become oversaturated with useful substances and stop reacting to them.

How to determine whether your skin is dry or not

Before you start using any cosmetic product, a woman needs to find out what her skin type is. Dry skin is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • tightness and flaking after washing, bathing or showering;
  • a thin layer of epidermis, capillaries are visible;
  • small cracks;
  • exposure to allergies (irritation) to the sun, wind, frost;
  • early wrinkles, rapid fading, loss of elasticity.

Reasons why skin becomes dry

Before you start preparing homemade masks, you need to understand the causes of dry skin. There are some clearly defined reasons why your facial skin may be dry:

  1. Dysregulation of the sebaceous glands. Most often, the cause of such a disruption in the functioning of the body is poorly selected or low-quality cosmetics. Also, violations can occur due to age-related changes in a woman’s body after 40 years. Changes in the hormonal system affect not only the emotional state, but also the health of the skin.
  2. Lack of fluid in the body. Skin health directly depends on the amount of fluid consumed. You need to consume at least one and a half liters of water per day. But don’t forget that tea, coffee, juices, etc. are not included in this amount.
  3. Environmental influence. Ultraviolet radiation, frost, wind, and the like have a negative effect on the skin. Try to protect your skin from this by using creams and wearing hats. This also includes poor nutrition. Carefully study your diet. It should contain a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals.
  4. Improper skin care also disrupts the functioning of the sebaceous glands. This may be affected by the use of soap rather than special cleansers. Using alcohol lotions, which dry out the skin very much.
  5. Menopause. The activity of the sebaceous glands is controlled by the endocrine system. After 40 years, a woman’s body undergoes a change in hormonal status, which leads to slower sebum production.

Effect of masks on dry skin

On store shelves you can see a wide range of masks designed for your skin. But there are few substitutes for home remedies. The good thing about such products is that you know their composition. You know for sure that they do not contain harmful components. What are their benefits?

  • Masks will ensure proper nutrition of the skin. You can often notice “empty” food in your diet. It is high in calories but low in essential vitamins and minerals. Masks will restore the lack of vitamins needed by the skin.
  • Moisture saturation. Dry skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity. Water consumption saturates the skin from the inside, but masks will provide the necessary moisture to the upper layer of the epidermis. It is he who is most susceptible to the destructive influence of the environment.
  • Cleansing. Dry skin, like any other, needs cleansing just like any other skin. But the difference is that cleansing should be softer and more delicate.

To get the maximum effect, you need to choose the right ingredients. It is also necessary to understand which masks are intended for nutrition, which for moisturizing, and which for cleansing.

Features and rules of use

As mentioned earlier, dry skin needs a special approach. There are several rules that will make the procedure beneficial for your skin:

  • Rule #1. Before using the mask, it is better to steam the skin. This will open up the pores and allow for better penetration of the mask components.
  • Rule #2. Fermented milk products, eggs, fruits and vegetables are best suited for making masks.
  • Rule #3. You should not use masks that contain ingredients such as mustard, turmeric and red pepper. They will dry out already dry skin.
  • Rule #4. It is best to use dairy products with a high percentage of fat. This way you can moisturize even the driest skin.
  • Rule #5. The mask lasts for at least 20 minutes, as opposed to the usual 15 minutes.
  • Rule #6. To remove the mask, it is better to use mineral water at room temperature. Do not rub your facial skin to avoid injury.
  • Rule #7. When using masks, avoid contact with the skin around the eyes and lips.
  • Rule #8. Frequency of use: twice a week. Course of application – 13 – 15 masks. After this, you need to give the skin a rest for about a month.

Remember that the most important thing in dealing with this problem is regularity. If you do masks irregularly, you will only get a short-term effect.

The use of masks for dry skin is no different from the use of other masks. Remember that before applying the mask, you need to cleanse your skin. When the mask is on your face, you need to maintain a calm position. Avoid reading and talking. Since the masks consist of natural ingredients, they should be used immediately after preparation and under no circumstances should they be reused. After using the mask, use the cream.

What products do dry skin need?

Dry skin and flaking on the face occur mainly due to the fact that cells no longer retain moisture. We all know that without water many metabolic processes cannot take place. The action of natural masks is aimed at eliminating this problem. While salon products only provide moisture, but do not affect the inner layers of the epidermis. Some vitamins will help eliminate dry skin and flaking, so for medicinal formulations we choose those products that have a high content of essential substances.

  1. Retinol is perhaps the most important element for which dry skin and flaking on the face are not a problem. This vitamin actively fights thinning and drying of tissues. Dairy products contain a lot of retinol. Vegetables and fruits do not contain vitamin A for the skin. But they are full of beta-carotene, which stimulates the production of retinol in the body. Peeling of the skin is eliminated by products of yellow, orange, red or green color: carrots, tomatoes, beets, apricots, spinach, peppers, melon, bananas.
  2. Pantothenic acid, that is, vitamin B5, as well as other representatives of group B, which perfectly moisturize and participate in fat metabolism. You can find them in almonds, bran, rice, wheat flour, eggs and green vegetables. Dry facial skin will thank you.
  3. Water balance is maintained by a substance such as hyaluronic acid. Its content is high in burdock oil, and grape juice and wine provoke the production of the substance in the body. It is thanks to this acid that dry skin will become a thing of the past.
  4. A beautiful and pleasant facial surface cannot exist without potassium. It is what eliminates peeling of the skin. There is a lot of it in peas, mustard, seaweed and nuts.

Masks for dry skin will be much more effective if they contain these products, which give it not only a beautiful appearance, but also a normal water-fat balance. Let's see how to properly prepare this or that useful and effective mixture to remove dry skin and flaking on the face.

Oil is a fairly dense substance that disrupts the respiration process of cells, thereby reducing their metabolism.
