How to change the shape of lips, create perfect lips

Composition and features of implants

The peculiarity of the mouth modeling technique is:

  • lasting lifelong effect;
  • predicting the appearance of the face after surgery is easier than when using injections of your own fat or fillers;
  • the structures are easy to remove if necessary;
  • tissue sensitivity is preserved;
  • During the insertion of the implant, any other plastic surgery procedures can be performed;
  • natural look;
  • installation of aesthetic equipment lasts no more than 10 minutes.

Different types of implants have their own characteristics. This influences the choice of aesthetic equipment.

Types of implants:

  1. Natural - made from donor or animal tissues. Autoplasty is possible. The material for augmentation is taken from the patient. Such equipment does not cause allergic reactions or tissue rejection, but over time organic implants dissolve.
  2. Artificial - silicone or polytetrafluoroethylene. Install once, do not dissolve during the entire service life.

The choice of material for lip augmentation is the prerogative of the patient at the aesthetic surgery clinic.

How to get a natural result when lip correction with hyaluronic acid

Symmetry and proportions play an important role in determining the attractiveness and youthful appearance of a face. As you know, the face is conventionally divided into three horizontal thirds:

  • upper third – from the hairline to the eyebrow area;
  • middle third - from between the eyebrows to the base of the nose;
  • lower third - from the base of the nose to the tip of the chin.

The aesthetic attractiveness of the lips is most often defined as the ratio of the upper lip to the lower lip of 1:1.618. This ratio is relevant mainly for Europeans and Caucasians, and in the east it can even be 1:1. In addition, the lateral projection of the upper lip should be 1–2 mm larger than the lower lip. Today, the described proportions are the standard that practitioners are guided by when drawing up a plan for lip correction, including hyaluronic acid.

The optimal ratio of the upper and lower lips is 1:1.618, and the lateral projection of the upper lip should be 1–2 mm larger than the lower lip.

Indications and contraindications for the procedure

It is believed that the indication for lip augmentation or any other form of lip correction is only the patient’s desire. This is not true.

lips after augmentation

Similar techniques are used for the following purposes:

  • with drooping lower lip;
  • tissue deformation, their fusion;
  • conditions after removal of tumors in the outer part of the mouth to replenish lost volume;
  • asymmetry, size correction;
  • age-related changes;
  • at the request of the patient.

Lip augmentation with implants is a surgical procedure. It has a number of contraindications, in which manipulations are not carried out even at the request of the patient.

Implantation is prohibited in the following cases:

  • against the background of acne treatment with Akutan and its analogues. It promotes the growth of scar tissue and the formation of keloids;
  • any connective tissue pathologies;
  • lupus, other autoimmune processes - surgical intervention can lead to exacerbation of diseases, exit from a state of remission;
  • any disease in the active stage;
  • herpetic infection in any condition - active, remission;
  • diabetes;
  • allergies to medications;
  • disruption of the thrombus formation process;
  • mental illness;
  • epilepsy;
  • pregnancy, lactation;
  • age up to 18 years.

Nerves and vessels located in the lip area

The motor innervation of the lips is provided by the facial nerve, and the sensory innervation is provided by the maxillary (V2) and mandibular (V3) branches of the trigeminal nerve.

The blood supply to both lips is provided by the superior and inferior labial branches of the facial artery. The superior labial branch arises from the facial artery directly above the labial commissure. It passes at a depth of 4.5 mm along the upper lip between the mucous membrane and the orbicularis oris muscle, immediately above the junction of the vermillion and the mucous membrane of the lip, and anastomoses with the opposite artery.

The inferior labial branch arises from the trunk of the facial artery at the point where it enters the vestibule of the mouth. The main arterial trunk runs along the border of the alveolar process in the plane between the orbicularis oris muscle and the depressor muscles of the lips. The inferior labial branch of the facial artery departs from the truncus arteriosus, which runs along with the mental nerve to the lower lip.

Despite the fact that the location of the vessels in the lip area varies from patient to patient and in most cases the arteries are asymmetrical, understanding the general pattern of their location helps to avoid complications when correcting the lips with hyaluronic acid.

In the area of the upper lip, at the junction of the red border and the mucous membrane, there are many arteries passing under the muscles. Superficial injection of the drug to a depth of no more than 3 mm directly under the red border can be considered safe in order to increase the projection of the lip.

Most of the labial branches of the facial artery enter the vermillion perpendicularly, making the red border of the lips a safe area for superficial injection of fillers.

The blood supply to the lower lip is provided by the facial artery and its three branches. The first artery runs along the border of the lower lip and is therefore called the “inferior labial branch”; the second horizontally crosses the area between the lower lip and chin - the “horizontal labial branch”; the third runs vertically through the area between the lower lip and chin - the “vertical labial branch”.

How does lip augmentation occur during implantation?

The surgical intervention takes place in 3 stages - preparation for 1.5 months, the procedure itself and the rehabilitation period.

Preparation

The preparatory period is long. The result of the operation and the duration of recovery depend on how carefully the patient followed the doctor’s recommendations.

Method of preparation for the procedure:

  1. Do not smoke for at least 6 weeks before the intervention - this will reduce the risk of rejection of the structure and scarring.
  2. Stop taking anticoagulants, homeopathic medications, and NSAIDs 2 weeks in advance—drugs can cause bleeding.
  3. Keep hydrated, which will shorten the rehabilitation period.

A general blood test, coagulogram, tests for HIV infection, and hepatitis are shown. An ECG is performed before the intervention.

Choosing a technique for introducing hyaluronic acid for lip correction

To successfully correct lips with hyaluronic acid, the doctor must have certain experience and skills. In addition, the specific insertion surface varies depending on the individual anatomy of patients, so it is not possible to use only one technique in all cases.

To increase the volume of the deep tissues of the lips, a point bolus technique (or creating a depot), linear injection and the method of sequential punctures are used. Such techniques are used to contour or add volume to the upper or lower lip, while vertical linear insertion is used to correct the philtrum and Cupid's bow.

Rice. 5 (A) before and (B) after intradermal injection of 2 units of botulinum toxin type A 1 cm lateral and 1 cm below the labial commissure, followed by the introduction of 0.4 ml of filler along the outer border of the red border of the lips and the “white ridge” and retrograde intradermal injection 0.1 ml of filler in Cupid's bow.

The goal of each technique is to achieve the most natural-looking results while injecting the minimum amount of material and minimizing the risk of complications. The optimal effect is achieved by combining these techniques.

Operation

Surgery is performed only at the aesthetic surgery clinic under aseptic conditions.

The total duration of the procedure is 30 minutes. At the initial stage, local anesthesia is indicated; general anesthesia is not used.

The doctor will make incisions in the corners of the mouth and create tunnels for installation of the structure. Then the lip implant is inserted and stitches are applied.

The patient remains in the clinic for several hours under the supervision of medical personnel. At the end of the day, you are discharged from the hospital.

Recovery period

After surgery, physiological tissue swelling will develop. It is relieved with cold compresses. Hematomas may appear. The basic rule of behavior after lip augmentation is not to touch, not to press, and not to smoke.

After surgery, the doctor will prescribe anti-inflammatory and painkillers. Antibiotics are not needed.

Why are hyaluronic acid fillers used to correct lips?

The most common method of enlarging and creating aesthetically pleasing lips today is dermal fillers.

The ideal product for this purpose is a biocompatible, biodegradable filler that easily integrates into the patient's tissue and provides a natural-looking result. Fillers based on hyaluronic acid (HA) meet all the above requirements.

The hygroscopic properties of HA make it an excellent material for lip correction, since this substance is able to absorb large amounts of water, thereby ensuring hydration and volumization of the lips.

Rice. 4 (A) before and (B) after injection of 0.2 ml of filler into the junction and outer border of the vermilion border of the lips, as well as 2 boluses of 0.1 ml into the upper lip to lift the Cupid's bow

Another huge advantage of HA is the ability to cross-link it to create gels of varying densities. Fillers with high cohesiveness and lower viscosity are softer and therefore are used for lip augmentation. Correcting the shape of the lips with makeup

Makeup artists know how to change the shape of lips using makeup. Moreover, you can correct not only the shape of the “bird” on the upper lip, but also make your lips visually fuller or thinner. In order to sculpt the shape you want and achieve the desired fullness of your lips, you need to have more than one shade of lipstick or gloss. When correcting the shape of your lips with makeup, apply the same rule as when choosing clothes: dark makes you look slimmer, light makes you look fuller.

Lip augmentation with makeup

If you want to enhance your lips with makeup, you will need a contour pencil, highlighter, pearlescent gloss or light liquid lipstick. By applying a pencil to the middle of the lower lip and filling in the corners, you can give your lips a beautiful relief. And by lining the contour with a pencil to match the lipstick and duplicating it with a lighter shade of pencil, you will get additional volume. To make your lips look fuller, you can use the Fullips lip suction cup.

Lip reduction with makeup

Those who want to reduce their lips, on the contrary, need darker shades of matte lipsticks or glosses with a minimum of reflective particles. To make your lips thinner, you can use this technique:

  1. Apply foundation to the skin of your mouth, this will help move the contour.
  2. You can use a beige pencil to outline the lips.
  3. Take a dark shade of lipstick and use your fingertips to “drive” the pigment into the place where your lips touch. Lipstick should not get on the contour.

You will get the effect of kissed lips, which can be recreated with the help of tints. You can also draw new outlines of the lips by lining them with a pencil to match the lipstick, deviating 1 millimeter from the natural boundaries.

kissed effect

Now you know that you can correct the shape of your lips without resorting to the help of surgeons and cosmetologists. All that remains is to get into the habit of repeating simple exercises and fill your hand, drawing a clear outline with a pencil.
