Lipofilling of the legs at the Triumph Palace clinic

Types of leg curvatures

True curvature

Those. the leg bones are really crooked. This deficiency can only be corrected through several complex and difficult operations aimed at correcting bone tissue.

False curvature

It occurs due to a deficiency of soft tissue in the legs. The legs have sharp and deep bends along their length. In this case, the calves on the legs may be flat. Lipofilling of the legs allows you to correct these shortcomings.

lipofilling of the legs

General information about the operation

In plastic surgery, lipofilling of the legs is an operation to correct the lower leg, which uses the patient’s own fat tissue. In this case, fat acts as an alternative to artificial implants, which has a number of advantages.

  • Adipose tissue is a completely natural material, and due to the fact that the patient's own fat is used, it is 100% compatible. As a result, it is possible to avoid autograft rejection, as well as various allergic reactions.
  • The autograft is injected pointwise, in small portions, which allows you to correct the shape of the leg exactly in those areas where it is necessary. Thanks to this, the doctor can easily achieve an ideal aesthetic result, create the necessary relief in the calf or calf area, which will look natural and attractive.
  • Due to the fact that the autograft is introduced into the subcutaneous layer through miniature punctures (using a special cannula), that is, no incisions are required, the rehabilitation period is shortened and scar formation can be avoided.

Benefits of leg fat grafting

– Fat is a natural filler, does not cause allergies, rejection and migration – Gives a natural result, does not contour like an implant – Does not leave marks or scars after surgery

How is lipofilling of the legs performed?

Before lipofilling of the legs, the patient needs to consult with a specialist who can give qualified advice and answer most questions. If after this the future patient is still determined to correct his legs, he is sent to undergo various tests: a general blood and urine test, a biochemical blood test, blood for HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, a coagulogram, an ECG and fluorography. After all test results are fully prepared, the specialist identifies the patient’s contraindications for lipofilling of the legs. Only if they are not found, a date is set for correcting the appearance of the legs. It is important to know that with true curvature of the legs, it is impossible to achieve strong changes in the legs; only by correcting false curvature of the legs can good results be achieved. Thanks to modern technologies, the result of the correction can be visually generated in advance. This allows the patient to assess the feasibility of the intervention and its effectiveness. The patient is recommended to stop smoking, drinking alcohol and taking blood thinning medications 2-3 weeks before lipofilling of the legs. On the appointed day of the operation, the patient must come to the clinic.

When all specialists are ready to perform lipofilling of the legs, the patient is given general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. Very rarely, local anesthesia can be used. After the painkiller begins to take effect, the operation begins. To do this, fat is first collected from the donor areas, during which the area of the body from which the fat cells will be taken is flooded with a solution containing adrenaline and an anesthetic. This reduces blood loss. After this, using micro-punctures through thin cannulas, adipose tissue is collected in the required volume. Then comes the stage of cleaning the material that has been collected. It is needed to cleanse fat cells of excess blood and fluid. After this, the areas of the lower leg where the patient’s own fat cells are planned to be injected are flooded with a special solution. And finally, at the next stage, fat is injected with a syringe intramuscularly and subcutaneously to distribute the cells evenly. When all manipulations are completed, interrupted single sutures are applied to the shin area at the puncture sites or the incisions are sealed with a postoperative plaster. At the end of lipofilling of the legs, the legs are wrapped in diapers and compression garments are put on.

Algorithm for lipofilling of legs

Long before the operation, the doctor conducts computer modeling to visualize the final result. If the patient is not satisfied with it, other corrective techniques are proposed. After reaching agreement, photographs of the lower extremities are taken from various angles. Lipofilling of the legs itself is carried out in three stages, but the procedure is preceded by a preparatory stage.

Features of the leg lipofilling technique

Exploratory survey

It begins with inspection and identification of the type of deformation and its severity. The specialist prescribes an appropriate examination, which is a necessary measure, since the operation is performed under general anesthesia. It includes:

  • clinical blood test and its biochemistry;
  • coagulogram - degree of coagulation;
  • general urine analysis;
  • ECG to rule out heart problems;
  • test for HIV, hepatitis, herpes, syphilis;
  • pregnancy test;
  • fluorography to examine the condition of the respiratory system.

Shortly before surgery, namely 2-3 weeks, the patient is advised to stop taking blood thinning medications (anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents, including aspirin), stop smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages. 5-7 days before the procedure, you should change your diet, excluding spicy and fatty foods, strong coffee and tea.

Technique

Lipofilling of the legs is performed using epidural or combined intravenous anesthesia. Conventionally, it is carried out in three stages: collection of aspirate, its subsequent processing and implantation into the problem area. During the procedure, the patient is on his back. On average, the operation lasts 1.5-2 hours.

  1. Stage 1. Donor material is being collected. For this purpose, the selected area is flooded with a special solution (warmed) containing adrenaline and an anesthetic to reduce blood loss. The ratio of the latter to fat mass is 1:1. The sampling is done using cannulas through micro-punctures. To reduce the procedure time, this stage is performed by two specialists at once.
  2. Stage 2. After receiving the donor material, the nurse begins to process it using one of the following methods: centrifugation and filtration, washing and filtering. Its essence is to isolate high-quality cells without impurities of liquid, blood and other elements. At the same time, infiltration of the treatment zone is performed in the same volume as the injected fat.
  3. Stage 3. The prepared material is injected into the problem area using a thin 2x15 mm needle. It is placed in various layers of soft tissue subcutaneously or intramuscularly to obtain an even distribution. The introduction of aspirate into the recipient areas allows for maximum enlargement of the calf area and correction of sunken areas. In this way, the lower leg is modeled in accordance with the patient's wishes. 100-180 ml of adipose tissue can be injected into each leg.

At the end of the lipomodeling stage, the puncture areas are treated: applying single sutures, gluing wide strips of sterile plaster. The affected areas are wrapped in diapers, since on the first day a large amount of sanguineous fluid is released through the incisions. Then compression garments are put on and worn for four weeks.

Recovery after surgery

The procedure for correcting legs using your own fat is considered low-traumatic. therefore, 2-3 hours after its completion, the patient can go home. Rehabilitation lasts no more than two months. During this period, it is recommended to follow your doctor’s prescriptions for a speedy recovery.

  1. Compression garments should be worn for 4-6 weeks to cover the donor sites and operated areas. It does not interfere with tissue survival, but prevents the development of severe edema.
  2. The first 2-3 days should be kept in bed and movements should be limited as much as possible.
  3. For 2-3 months you need to completely avoid visiting baths, saunas, other thermal procedures, physical activity, and massage.
  4. Take a course of finger massage from a specialist if contour irregularities and seals are detected.

Patients who have been injected with large volumes of adipose tissue (more than 200 ml) are advised to undergo a course of physiotherapeutic procedures to improve lymph and blood circulation. These are microcurrent and magnetic therapy, polarized light. Lyoton-gel or Traumeel should be applied to the donor areas and lipofilling areas. The use of Detralex and Ascorutin tablets is indicated.

results

For several days after lipofilling of the legs, the patient must remain in bed. For about a month and a half after the operation, it is necessary to wear compression garments, not only on the legs, but also on the donor area from where the fat cells were collected. This will prevent severe swelling from developing. If during lipofilling of the legs a large volume of material was injected, which exceeds 0.2 liters, the patient is additionally prescribed physical therapy for normal lymphatic and venous drainage of the tissues. Detailed instructions for caring for yourself after lipofilling of the legs will be given by the surgeon who performed the correction. All recommendations should be followed for an effective rehabilitation period. In general, the results obtained after lipofilling of the legs can last for 2-4 years. It depends on the metabolic rate in the body.

OPERATION LIPOFILLING OF THE HIMS

Lipofilling of the legs
The lipofilling operation of the legs is performed under general anesthesia. As a rule, combined inhalation, intravenous and spinal anesthesia is used. The duration of the operation averages from 1.5 to 3 hours and depends on the number of donor areas that need to be processed to obtain the required amount of adipose tissue.

Preparation for lipofilling

The surgeon evaluates the anatomical features, the structure of the skeletal and muscular systems, and the distribution of subcutaneous fat. Using volumetric modeling technology, he marks donor areas for transplantation and areas for introducing biomaterial.

Next, the patient is sent for examination to exclude contraindications. It is necessary to pass a general urine and blood test, determine the blood group and Rh factor, do a coagulogram, a sugar test, ECG and fluorography, undergo a laboratory examination for hepatitis B, C, HIV, syphilis. You will also need a conclusion from a therapist or phlebologist.

Question answer

Can lipofilling of the legs make the appearance of crooked legs more attractive?
Yes, but it is worth considering that visible results can only be achieved with false curvature of the legs.

If your calves are asymmetrical, is it possible to make them look the same?

Yes, lipofilling of the legs allows you to add volume to the calves, exactly in the place where it is not enough.
