Beware, fillers. Why “beauty injections” can be very dangerous

Fillers that are popular today are, of course, not a circular facelift, but still not as simple a procedure as it might seem at first glance. So-called “beauty injections” are associated with certain risks that must be taken into account before deciding on such a method of rejuvenation. Candidate of Medical Sciences, dermatocosmetologist Natalya Taran told AiF.ru why fillers sometimes cause harm to health .

Human factor

Unfortunately, there is no escape from this. It would not be superfluous to remind you that the injections must be carried out by a doctor who has all the documents and certificates confirming his education and specialization. This can be either a plastic surgeon or a cosmetologist.

Line of drugs

The Apriline series of dermal fillers includes three preparations, which differ from each other in the concentration of hyaluronic acid and the area of application.

Apriline normal

Apriline normal is a preparation for contouring with an active substance concentration of 23 mg/ml and a viscosity of 500,000 mPa, which is intended for superficial administration (to the depth of the epidermis). Apriline normal gel improves the turgor and elasticity of the skin, helps smooth out facial wrinkles in the periorbital area of the face, forehead and nasolabial triangle, and is used to correct the contour and volume of the lips. Duration of preservation of the result: 6-10 months.

Apriline forte

Apriline forte is a filler of dense consistency (1,000,000 mPa) with a hyaluronic acid concentration of 23 mg/ml. Designed for injection into the middle and deep layers of the skin in order to fill deep wrinkles and skin folds, correct the oval of the face, restore the volume of the skin in the cheeks, cheekbones and chin, and increase the volume of the lips. The lifting effect of Apriline forte is comparable to the results of such fillers as Surgiderm 30xp and Princess filler. According to reviews on the cosmetologists forum, the result after injection of Apriline Forte filler lasts 8-12 months.

Apriline hydro

Apriline hydro is a biorevitalizant prepared on the basis of hyaluronic acid in a concentration of 18 mg/ml, which is used to activate the processes of natural rejuvenation of the skin of the face, neck, décolleté and hands. The drug helps smooth out wrinkles, improve color and increase the elasticity of the skin, and also prevents the process of premature aging of the skin. Apriline hydro is intended for injection into the superficial layers of the skin, and the effect of its administration lasts 6-9 months.

5. Violation of facial expressions

The density of the selected preparation is of paramount importance. If the doctor chooses a soft, plastic filler to create volume, then the desired result will not be achieved, since such drugs cannot hold their shape. The whole procedure will simply be useless. It is worse if a bulky and non-plastic drug is injected into an area with increased facial activity. Fillers can lead to disruption of this very activity; unevenness on the skin, compaction and fibrosis can also occur.

The principle of action of the drug

Intradermal injection of gels from the Aprilline line allows you to smooth out wrinkles and activate the process of natural rejuvenation of the skin by stimulating the synthesis of new collagen and elastin. A special technology for stabilizing the molecules of the active substance ensures uniform

distribution of the drug in the dermis and prevents the process of its enzymatic destruction under the action of hyaluronidase, which allows for a long-term rejuvenating effect.

The Apriline line of fillers are highly plastic, monophasic gels that are used for contouring and biorevitalization. The drugs have passed the procedure of international standardization and certification, meet GMP requirements and are approved for use in Russia and Ukraine.

Fillers - where is the danger lurking?

When the technology first appeared in Russia, the ratio of high-quality certified fillers and their more budget-friendly analogues was divided approximately equally. Now the share of drugs with questionable quality that have not yet passed the certification procedure has become many times greater. Therefore, the first thing you should pay attention to if you decide to take risks in the name of beauty is the composition of the drug, its reputation and certificate. Otherwise, there is a high probability of encountering side effects in the form of unevenness, subcutaneous lumps, impaired lymphatic drainage, bruising, or even rejection of the drug. By the way, an allergic reaction to fillers can occur years later; in some cases, injections cause erythema and swelling. It’s not always pleasant, and it’s not always possible to attract a specialist through whose fault you ruined your health and face. And this is another reason to think about whether to decide on the procedure.

Choose only high-quality certified fillers

If you have sensitive skin or a tendency to puffiness, then it is better to forget about fillers. Any injection is an injury to the skin tissue, which leads to temporary swelling. In addition, all injection methods that exist at the moment, one way or another, lead to depletion of the skin, and with regular injection they even provoke pronounced ptosis, that is, tissue drooping. Even if your skin is not hypersensitive, the hyaluronic acid contained in fillers will still attract water along with swelling from the injections. Due to the additional volume and “weight” of fillers, we will get an inevitable heaviness of the face, which will work against us when the short-term lifting effect of the procedure ends. The face will look haggard and deformed.

A sad result - that’s what we fought for and ran into

The final argument against fillers is that you are deliberately preventing yourself from achieving a lifestyle that can make you younger, more beautiful and healthier for a longer period of time. The fact is that any activities and procedures that improve blood circulation, metabolism and microcirculation contribute to the rapid absorption of drugs. Therefore, after the cosmetic injection procedure, sports, massage, microcurrent therapy and visiting the sauna will be contraindicated for you. Is it worth risking your health and pushing yourself into strict limits that will negatively affect your lifestyle? It’s up to everyone to decide, but everyone should definitely think about it before choosing this path.

Filler injections cannot be combined with any procedures

Filler injections can be combined with certain procedures. First of all, this is hardware cosmetology, skincare procedures - something that is absolutely safe and compatible. From my personal experience, I want to say that I try not to combine fillers with Botox in one procedure.

I try to separate it at least a few weeks, because if we inject Botox, we will slightly worsen the lymphatic drainage. And if we inject filler on top, the risk of swelling increases. That's why I separate these procedures. Everything else: hardware and skincare cosmetology are absolutely compatible with filler injections.

What is filler?

In simple terms, this is a series of substances that are administered by injection. In general, the mechanism is similar to the well-known Botox, but the main difference is that fillers do not paralyze and relax the muscles, but fill and lift the skin from the inside.

Natural, timely skin care can save you from dangerous injections

There are many different types of “beauty injections”. They are similar in functionality, but differ in the substance taken as their basis. It is this that influences such parameters of fillers as density, viscosity, durability and efficiency. This is where the first pitfalls begin.

Do hematomas always remain after filler injection?

It all depends on the anatomy. There are areas with a rich blood supply - the lips. When a needle is used in this area, hematomas will occur with an 80% probability. The question is how big they will be.

In the zygomatic area, specialists use an atraumatic cannula. After it, bruises are the exception rather than the rule - the likelihood of hitting a vessel is low.

Cosmetologists are not x-rays. No professional can say with 100% certainty that it will not fall into the vessel.

Indications

Typically, contour plastic surgery and biorevitalization are prescribed for those whose age has exceeded 30. But even in this case, there are exceptions. For example, there are young people suffering from skin diseases. And the action of hyaluronic acid will improve healing and give a natural color. So who are the Dermafill products indicated for?

  1. Patients who are over 30. These are those who have begun to develop wrinkles with age. It’s still too early to go under the surgeon’s knife, but natural skin color and smoothing out wrinkles is what will suit them at the moment.
  2. Dry and dehydrated skin. This skin's elasticity decreases. This occurs either with age, or due to some external influences. It could also be due to bad heredity. And at present, they have not yet come up with other effective means to combat this disease.
  3. Injuries and abrasions. Usually, after laser resurfacing, peeling or plastic surgery, there is a need for tissue restoration and rapid healing. Then patients are prescribed a course of hyaluronic acid. After all, fillers not only smooth out the skin. Hyaluronic acid allows the skin to breathe, accelerating the blood and saturating the cells with oxygen. This allows you to quickly restore damaged areas.
  4. Preparation for ultraviolet irradiation. Although hyaluronic acid acts in two directions. It prepares the skin to be irradiated with ultraviolet light. It also restores it after the irradiation itself. In addition, under the influence of rays, the skin loses moisture very quickly. Fillers naturally restore these imperfections.
  5. Unhealthy skin color (pigment spots). This anomaly occurs if the body lacks melanin, which is responsible for its color and also plays the role of an antioxidant. Hyaluronic acid normalizes the amount of melanin and restores antioxidant protection. Thus, the skin restores its natural color and is less exposed to oxidative reactions.
  6. Increased skin oiliness. This problem occurs in those who have enlarged pores. This problem makes the skin oily. Fillers, which include essential oils, help solve the problem by reducing the activity of the glands.

Thus, the Dermafill line is indicated both for people who have wrinkles, as well as for those who have skin problems. But it is worth noting that before the age of 25, the need to use fillers does not make sense.
