Why do wrinkles appear around the eyes?
Starting from about 25 years of age, metabolic processes in a woman’s body undergo some changes. First of all, this concerns the functioning of the epidermis. The production of collagen and some other substances that ensure the normal functioning of the skin and its attractive appearance decreases.
Why does a lack of collagen play a decisive role in the formation of wrinkles? The fact is that this protein compound is actually a building material for connective tissue (that is, cartilage) and the epidermis, and also plays a very important role in skin metabolism. Its deficiency leads to:
- a sharp decrease in skin cell division;
- deterioration in the supply of moisture to cells and a decrease in their ability to retain it.
As a result, old cells are not replaced by new ones and they have to maintain the functioning of the skin much longer. It is quite natural that they wear out a lot during this time. This wear and tear is further aggravated by the fact that the cell membrane, in conditions of collagen deficiency, does not retain moisture well.
All this leads to the formation of wrinkles. They primarily appear on the eyelids and areas around the eyes. This is due to two main factors.
- The skin around the eyes is very thin and consists of only three to four layers of cells. Therefore, it wears out much faster than the skin on other areas of the face and body in general.
- The eyes play one of the main roles in human facial expressions (along with the corners of the lips). In addition, we squint when we try to see a distant object or protect ourselves from the sun's rays entering our eyes. This creates serious stress on the epidermis, which also contributes to its faster wear.
The appearance of wrinkles can be caused not only by physiological characteristics and age-related factors, but also by bad habits and poor lifestyle choices. Among them we can name:
- excessive exposure to direct sunlight;
- increased stress levels;
- smoking;
- poor nutrition (mainly dangerous is abstinence from meat and other protein foods, which are converted into collagen during digestion);
- improper facial skin care;
- various diseases (for example, acne);
- overwork and lack of sleep.
Selection and storage
To purchase high-quality essential oil, you need to pay attention to several points when choosing:
- Composition - the product must contain a single component, 100% essential oil without unnecessary impurities.
- Price - this product cannot be cheap; on average, its cost fluctuates around 1000-1500 rubles.
- Packaging - the product should be sold in a dark glass container that protects the product from exposure to light; before purchasing online, you should study the photo of neroli oil.
In pharmacies you can find neroli oil from different manufacturers. It is believed that the best product on the market comes from Mediterranean countries. The product is also produced in Egypt, but it is not elite.
The shelf life of the essential product is 3 years. The product must be stored in a tightly sealed dark glass bottle, and the temperature should not exceed 25 degrees. The bottle should be kept in a dark place, away from direct sunlight.
How to choose oil for the skin around the eyes?
The aging of the skin around the eyes can be quite successfully combated. There are two main approaches to this:
- introducing collagen into the epidermis;
- stimulating the skin to produce collagen independently by adding various nutrients.
The second approach is more preferable, since it does not just nourish the skin, but pushes it to produce the necessary substances on its own. Products such as oils for the skin around the eyes are well suited for it, which, with the help of various natural plant extracts and microelements, creates conditions for normalizing metabolic processes in the epidermis.
But which skin oil should you choose? Which one is better? Here's what to look for when purchasing.
- Origin of components. All oil ingredients must be of natural origin. This will protect you from side effects and other adverse effects that may be caused by the use of laboratory-synthesized components.
- Saturation of extracts. All extracts are divided into two large groups: light and heavy. Heavy ones are more saturated, have more extract from the plant. Therefore, their use is much more effective. But it should be remembered that they are not suitable for everyone, since people with sensitive skin may experience an allergic reaction when using such extracts.
- Allergy. Before using the oil, it is better to consult a doctor and find out if you are allergic to any of the components. Also, you should not purchase products that contain at least one substance to which you are sensitive.
- Manufacturer. You should not purchase cosmetics from little-known, no-name manufacturers. No one guarantees their quality or vouches for their composition, so such cosmetics can cause unpleasant side effects (primarily allergies).

Two lines are a Russian cosmetics production company located in the city of Biysk, Altai Territory. A distinctive feature of the Two Lines products is that they use environmentally friendly raw materials collected in Altai for their production. However, in addition to plant raw materials of natural origin, the achievements of modern science are also used. This makes cosmetics even more effective.

Elixir for your skin in winter, or How to make your own ghee
Ghee is especially popular in India, a country where cows are sacred animals. In Sanskrit, it is called Ghee butter, and it is considered the most valuable healing product, liquid gold, a substance containing the energy of the sun.
In Rus', in the old days, oil was also heated everywhere, but, unfortunately, over time this tradition was almost forgotten.
After melting, butter is pure milk fat (99.8%). It contains absolutely no lactose, water and protein-casein fractions. Externally, it is a relatively soft substance of golden color with a subtle pleasant sweetish taste and smell.
Ghee contains up to 36% polyunsaturated fatty acids and many fat-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin E with antioxidant activity and antirachitic vitamin D), which are completely preserved during melting.
Ghee has a healing effect on the skin when used externally.
This is an excellent remedy for relieving skin inflammation, moisturizing, nourishing and increasing protective functions.
The whole secret is in valuable animal lipids, close to the components of our skin cells - the skin perceives and absorbs them perfectly (much better than lipids of plant origin).
As we age, our skin produces less and less oil and we need to add a little more to maintain the normal protective lipid layer that retains moisture to keep our skin smooth and plump. Ghee is one of the best options for this “extra fat” due to its composition and animal origin.
I recommend using ghee instead of face cream (especially in winter and with dry skin) - it is almost universal, suitable for any skin type and completely safe.
However, when using ghee for facial skin care (like other oils), the following rules should be strictly followed:
- drink enough water so that the skin is not dry from internal dehydration;
- never apply oil to dry skin (oils are always applied to still damp, heated skin directly on top of droplets of water);
— do not apply a lot of oil (the oil content should not be felt, otherwise the effect will be the opposite of what was expected);
- apply oil to previously cleansed skin;
- do not use facial oil on a regular basis, but use it as needed and/or during the cold winter period.
Now let's talk about how to make your own ghee.
We will need unsalted butter, made according to GOST, with a fat content of at least 82.5%. If the fat content is less, it means that there are some additives in the oil + more water, and it will not make good ghee.
I buy this inexpensive but high-quality oil in a regular grocery supermarket:
The easiest way to heat oil is on the stove.
a very thick and light bottom is suitable for melting . The thicker the bottom, the better.
The process itself is very simple. The oil heats on its own - the main thing is to make sure that it does not burn.
Cut the butter into pieces of 30-50 grams, place in a clean, dry saucepan and place on the lowest heat.
Gradually the butter will begin to melt:
Along the way, the white foam that forms should be removed with a clean spoon (and then given to the cat).
After 5-10 minutes the butter should completely melt.
Once again, check that the heat is set to the minimum setting at which the oil will slightly .
As the oil boils, a light white foam forms over and over again. We continue to carefully remove the foam with a clean spoon. We act without fanaticism - excess foam will be filtered out when filtering the oil at the very end.
When it starts boiling, the oil mass is cloudy, but gradually the protein separates from the fat, precipitates to the bottom of the pan, and the oil becomes clearer and clearer.
The cooking time of the oil depends on its quantity. 400 grams of butter will be ready in about 20-30 minutes.
How can you tell when the oil is ready? It will become transparent (the bottom of the pan will be visible), beautiful, bright yellow and begin to crackle just barely audibly.
In this case, a small white sediment forms at the bottom (the same proteins separated from fats). It is important to ensure that the sediment does not start to burn (darken). As soon as the sediment turns even a little brown, this is a sign that it’s time to turn off the heat and the oil is ready. Oil with burnt sediment is considered unsuitable for medicinal purposes.
When the oil is ready, it must be carefully poured into a clean glass container (you can pass it through 2 layers of gauze or a wide bandage, on which undetected foam and sediment will remain).
Be careful not to let any sediment pieces fall into the jar of prepared ghee.
When the oil cools, it will no longer be transparent. You need to store it covered with a lid in a dark place or in the refrigerator (just in case, so to speak).
It is believed that good ghee has an unlimited shelf life, but prudence dictates that it is better to use it within a year
When using ghee externally, do not forget that it is a valuable food product and one of two oils with which you can cook (the other being coconut oil).
Refined vegetable oils, with which we are accustomed to frying everything, are obtained through thermal and chemical processing. Often, chemical solvents are used (for example, hexane, similar in composition to gasoline), which in small quantities, but remain in the final product. Any refined oil is dangerous to health.
I hope that my humble article will be useful to many of you.

Masks with neroli
Neroli facial oil is great for adding to homemade masks.
For dry skin
For dry skin, we will prepare a product with its participation. Mix an egg with a coffee spoon of olive oil, add a drop of carrot oil, a couple of drops of neroli and milk powder until the consistency of sour cream. Apply the mixture to the neck and face and leave for ten to fifteen minutes. For the mask to work, you need to lie down and relax during this time, and not combine the procedure with household chores. Remove with warm water and rinse your face with cool water to always look attractive.
For problem skin
A mask with oatmeal, sour cream, neroli and honey provides comprehensive care for problem skin. On a large spoon with a “hill” of crushed oatmeal, take the same amount of sour cream, add a teaspoon of honey, three drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice and a couple of drops of neroli oil for the face. Mix everything and apply to clean skin for twenty to twenty-five minutes. We do the procedure twice a week for a month.
Fruit mask
Neroli gets along well with fruits too. Mash a ripe banana or three ripe strawberries and add a couple of drops of neroli to the puree. Keep the mixture on your face for a third of an hour and remove with warm water.
Neroli is a delicate and soft extract. It perfectly helps to always look attractive. But if you are intolerant to citrus fruits or allergic to them, it is better not to use the product. And without consulting a specialist, taking it as home care is dangerous in this case.
You should not use neroli oil on your face during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is forbidden to use ether if concentration of attention is required: neroli gives a relaxing effect.

An undoubted advantage of using peach oil for the area around the eyes is the natural composition and safety of this product. To do this, apply a couple of drops of the product to the area of the elbow, where the skin is quite thin and susceptible to external irritants.
If after some time no signs of itching and redness appear, you can safely use this remedy in the area around the eyes.
