Causes and methods of eliminating marionette wrinkles

What are marionette wrinkles?

The wrinkles that run from the corners of the lips down to the chin got their name because they give the face a resemblance to the face of a puppet. They are a consequence of the natural aging of the body and begin to form after 35-40 years. Because of these folds, the face takes on a dull, tired, sad look, and the person looks older than his age.

Causes of marionette wrinkles

There are various reasons that cause the formation of grooves in the oral area:

  1. Natural aging processes. With age, the amount of collagen and elastin decreases, and the subcutaneous fat layer on the face becomes thinner. The skin of the face loses its elasticity and sags. Most mature people experience drooping of the corners of their lips.
  2. Fast weight loss. Women who exhaust themselves with strict diets risk getting premature wrinkles. The fact is that when a person suddenly loses weight, the previously stretched skin does not have time to shrink and sags.
  3. Features of facial . Some people are born with a predisposition to developing early marionette lines. Such people naturally have reduced tone of the facial muscles around the lips, so they quickly sag.
  4. Abuse of sunbathing and solarium. Those who like to sunbathe in the sun or in a solarium often have dry skin. Ultraviolet rays deprive the epidermis of moisture and slow down the production of collagen fibers.
  5. Smoking . Tobacco smoke and tar have a negative effect on the skin of the face. The nasolabial area is especially affected.
  6. Changes in hormonal levels. In mature women, the level of the hormone estrogen decreases, and this leads to increased formation of wrinkles.
  7. Loss of teeth. If there are no teeth in the dentition, then the cheeks begin to sink, sag, and wrinkles form on the cheeks and in the lower part of the face.
  8. Too active facial expressions. Some people experience increased muscle tone in the mouth area. This is another factor that provokes the appearance of early wrinkles.

Not being a doll: how to get rid of marionette wrinkles

Marionette lines
(or wrinkles of grief) honestly deserve their name, because they run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin - exactly like those of the familiar marionette dolls. how to get rid of them? We study all effective methods together with Ph.D. Alisa Sharova .

Causes of marionette wrinkles

These wrinkles, which can spoil the appearance of any person, usually appear at the age of 35–40, however, this happens even earlier. Their appearance can be influenced by many factors. From malocclusion (and in this case even correction is powerless, the problem will only get worse with age) to the phonetic features of the language of their “lucky owner”. For example, Europeans usually have more severe marionette lines than Slavs. The fact is that Romano-Germanic languages have many open sounds, for the pronunciation of which you have to strain your lips, but in the Russian language there are much fewer such sounds; the platysma (subcutaneous muscle of the neck) is practically not involved in articulation. Therefore the result is different.

However, marionette wrinkles appear due to a whole range of reasons. Firstly, starting from the age of 30, the skin noticeably loses its elasticity, stretches and begins to form wrinkles and folds. Secondly, deep fat packets, which serve as a support for muscles and determine the relief of the surface of the face, decrease in volume and sag, while superficial fatty tissue, on the contrary, often increases in volume as we age, making the face heavier and sliding downwards under the influence of gravity. This process is facilitated by increased activity and constant tension of the facial muscles of the lower half of the face. Two muscles influence the formation of marionette lines: the depressor anguli oris (the depressor anguli oris muscle) and the platysma (the subcutaneous muscle of the neck). They are responsible for the drooping of the corners of the mouth and the lower part of the face as a whole. Finally, with age, the ligamentous apparatus of the face also ages. This mainly manifests itself in stretching and lengthening of the ligaments, causing the oval of the face to “sag.” In addition to the physiological changes that characterize facial aging, the appearance of marionette wrinkles is influenced by gravity. To understand exactly how it affects faces, compare photographs of astronauts on earth and in space: in zero gravity they look younger.

What are the features of marionette wrinkles?

If a marionette line is just a wrinkle and not an overhanging deep crease, contouring can help by adding volume to the desired area. However, it is not always possible to save the situation by filling it with filler. With different body weights, the approach to wrinkle correction will be different. If the weight is too heavy, gravitational ptosis increases. First, you will need weight correction and work not with the wrinkle itself, but with adjacent areas. If there is a lack of weight - the skin is too stretched, hanging, you will need to work on filling the volume and lifting the skin.

How to get rid of marionette wrinkles?

First of all, it is important to decide on the goal: after all, you can fix the problem quickly, but not for long. For example, by choosing to fill the missing volume with fillers and reinforcement. Or take the issue seriously and get a result that will last for a long time.

· Bite correction.

This is not always required, but many of those who come for such a correction cannot avoid a trip to the orthodontist. Sometimes this is enough for the wrinkle to go away.

· Relieving hypertension.

If the puppet's wrinkles come with tightly clenched teeth and constantly pursed lips, the lower third of the oval face simply needs to be relaxed. In this case, injections of botulinum toxin into the muscle that depresses the lower lip and the subcutaneous muscle of the neck usually help. At this moment, the necessary facial calm is created, as a result of which unnecessary wrinkles are smoothed out.

· Redistribution of tissues.

With both ptosis and hypertonicity, the tissues in this area are out of place. This can be corrected by reinforcement - the skin in the area of the angle of the lower jaw is stretched, emphasizing the contour of the face and straightening the marionette wrinkle.

· Increase in volume.

To do this, fillers based on hyaluronic acid are injected both into the marionette wrinkle and into adjacent areas. For example, if you increase the volume of the chin and cheekbones, the facial frame becomes denser, and the tissues no longer “flow” down.

· Muscle toning.

To get rid of muscle sagging, mesotherapy cocktails based on dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) are usually used. Recent scientific research shows that DMAE has a positive effect on skin fibroblasts. What is important is that the use of DMAE gives an immediate lifting effect, especially with the deformation type of aging. However, with a one-time use of the drug, it will go away within a week. The course use of DMAE includes the process of fibroblast activation. And the skin really begins to renew itself and look younger.

· Hardware technologies.

They give longer-lasting results (albeit slower compared to Botox and fillers), working not with an individual wrinkle, but with areas of the face.

· Radiofrequency lifting.

This method is good because, if necessary, the device with which the procedure is carried out can be adjusted both to act on the skin and deeper, at the level of fatty tissue. After all, if the main problem of marionette wrinkles is excessive fat deposition in the oval area of the face, then first you need to start the lipolysis process. If the reason is sagging and sagging skin, you need to work with it to get compaction and rejuvenation of collagen, thereby restoring the elasticity and smoothness of the skin. Due to the thermal effect on collagen, the effect of the procedure will be noticeable immediately, however, to achieve a lasting effect, you should undergo a course of procedures that will trigger the synthesis of your own collagen. 

· Fractional techniques.

Most often, this means laser technology, although many fractional radiofrequency devices have now appeared. Regardless of the type of energy used, the operating principle of all these devices is the same. Microscopic columns of tissue are burned into the skin to varying depths. They are surrounded by intact tissue, which is heated during the procedure, which promotes rapid healing and the synthesis of new collagen. After this, the skin noticeably shrinks, the clarity of the oval contours of the face is restored, and wrinkles are smoothed out.

· Fat breakdown.

In addition to radiofrequency lifting, injection lipolysis can be used for this. The advantage of this procedure is the ability to reduce the volume of local fat deposits, for example, to correct the shape of the face. The combination of lipolysis with reinforcement with mesothreads or threads with notches will also help improve the result.

Expert opinion

Anna Voloshina, cosmetologist at the Sensavi Beauty Institute

You should start thinking about correcting marionette wrinkles after you notice that shadows suddenly appear along these lines that were not there before. The approach to correction is very individual. The tactics and strategy of action are determined by the anatomical features and condition of the patient’s tissues. Perhaps direct impact on this area is not even necessary, but it will be enough, for example, to add volume to the cheekbones with filler or inject a certain amount of an injectable drug into the area of the nasolabial folds. This way, the puppet’s wrinkles are automatically leveled out. Of course, filler injections are also permissible in the labio-mental wrinkles themselves.

Sometimes botulinum therapy is used to solve the problem, but in rejuvenating the lower third of the face this effect is not the first choice procedure. At Sensavi, we prefer a comprehensive approach to correcting marionette lines. Very good results are shown by the use of the ultherapy procedure (Ulthera ultrasonic lifting), tightening tissue down to the deep muscular aponerotic layer, followed by injections of individually selected (for example, density, elastic properties) filler.

Natalya Mikhailova,
Ph.D., dermatologist, chief physician of the author’s clinics “Reforma” by Dr.
Mikhaylova After 30–35 years, muscle tone and elasticity of the facial skin decrease, sagging (gravitational ptosis) is noted: marionette lines and deep nasolabial folds form.

Reform clinics offer a large selection of minimally invasive, effective signature procedures that are alternative to plastic surgery. One of them is the author’s injection technique “vector lifting”, which restores the youthfulness of the face in an average of an hour and a half. Using a long thin needle, the doctor injects filler (a drug based on hyaluronic acid) under the skin in certain directions. A new frame is created that supports the skin from sagging for 1.5–2 years. After the procedure, the face instantly rejuvenates: it does not look heavy, swelling under the eyes disappears, the corners of the mouth and eyes lift.

The advantage of vector lifting compared to plastic surgery is improved quality and comprehensive tightening of sagging skin, the formation of new collagen fibers, a lifting effect and the absence of long-term rehabilitation.

How to remove wrinkles of grief?

You need to start fighting folds in the oral area as early as possible. The less pronounced the wrinkles, the easier it is to get rid of them. There are many salon procedures designed to correct facial folds.

Plasmolifting

This method involves injecting the patient's own blood plasma under the skin. First, the patient's blood is taken, then the plasma is separated from it, and then the plasma is injected under the skin in places where there are wrinkles. Own plasma is well tolerated by the body and is not rejected.

The introduction of plasma activates the production of fibrin, which accelerates the growth of new cells. After the procedure, wrinkles in the oral area become less pronounced. For greater effect, cosmetologists recommend combining plasma lifting with other procedures, for example, filler injections or laser treatments.

Plasmolifting

Contour plastic

This technique involves the use of special injections that correct the facial lines. The main ingredient of the injection solution is hyaluronic acid. A liquid or gel containing hyaluronic acid and other beneficial substances is injected under the skin into certain areas of the face. The drug penetrates into the deep layers of the epidermis and rejuvenates it at the cellular level.

Hyaluronic acid is used in cosmetology for many anti-aging procedures. Its advantages:

  • well tolerated by the body, does not cause allergic reactions;
  • stimulates the production of collagen and elastin;
  • acts in the area into which it is introduced, does not spread throughout the surrounding tissues;
  • does not form clots;
  • smoothes the skin and restores its elasticity.

Botulinum therapy

This procedure is known to many as “Botox injections.” Botox has long been used in cosmetology to combat wrinkles. The drug relaxes the facial muscles, causing wrinkles to smooth out. With the help of botulinum toxin injections, you can get rid of even pronounced folds of grief, so the procedure receives a lot of good reviews. The result lasts for about six months, then the procedure must be repeated.

Women who want to get rid of marionette lines should resort to Botox injections twice a year.

Photorejuvenation

This procedure involves exposing the skin to light pulses. As a result, collagen and elastin proteins are activated, toxins are removed, and cells are saturated with oxygen. After a course of procedures, the face looks much younger, and wrinkles are significantly reduced.

Cryolifting

This technique is based on exposing the skin to cold. Cold increases the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. The method is quite effective, so it is suitable for combating folds in different areas of the face, including marionette wrinkles.

Peeling

This method involves removing dead particles of the epidermis. This is done using abrasives, fruit acids, dry ice, and ultrasonic waves. After this treatment, the surface of the skin becomes smooth and silky, pimples, acne, age spots disappear, and wrinkles are smoothed out.

How to get rid

The most reliable method for correcting marionette wrinkles is a salon facelift, or facelift. It is performed using injections, hardware and surgery.

Contour plastic

The method of contour plastic surgery involves the use of natural and artificial fillers - fillers. Preparations that are injected under the skin of the face not only fill the depressions, but also stimulate the production of your own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid .

Bioreinforcement and threads

The bioreinforcement procedure involves strengthening the skin with gel-like preparations of polylactic and hyaluronic acid or hydrolyzed collagen. The threads are introduced according to a special pattern, creating a strong network of connective tissue strands. They actively support the cover, preventing its deformation.

Lipofilling

Lipofilling is becoming increasingly popular in cosmetology, since this procedure uses the patient’s own tissue, namely fat, which fills deep folds from the inside.

This method of lifting is an injection alternative to lipolifting - plastic surgery for transplanting adipose tissue to areas of folds and sagging.

Hyaluronic acid injections

The most common way to correct wrinkles is with hyaluronic acid injections. The technique gives a good effect and, if the filler is distributed incorrectly under the skin, it allows you to correct or even eliminate the result.

The density of the drugs used varies depending on the area being corrected. High-density hyaluronates are used to fill grief lines.

In difficult cases, usually after 50-55 years, the doctor may recommend surgical lifting, in which there is no need to update the result every few months.

Cosmetology procedures

You can get rid of marionette wrinkles not only with the help of biodegradable and natural fillers, but also through special cosmetic procedures that affect the facial muscles or cells that synthesize collagen and other compounds that provide skin elasticity.

Botulinum therapy

The task of Botox (bolulinum toxin) is to turn off the sensitivity of muscles to the action of nerve impulses. This substance is able to relax facial muscles that are in hypertonicity, which leads to the smoothing of facial wrinkles .

In some cases, if there are “folds of sadness,” cosmetologists recommend Botox injections, since the formation of a deep wrinkle from the corner of the lips to the chin may be associated with dysfunction of the depressor oris muscle.

Plasmolifting

Plasmolifting is performed when there is a loss of skin tone due to natural age-related processes. This rejuvenation technique involves the introduction of the patient’s own blood plasma. The procedure requires up to 40 ml of blood, which is centrifuged and injected under the skin in small portions.

The active component of such a natural drug is not the plasma itself, but the platelets contained in it, the concentration of which in the separated solution is several tens of times higher than in human blood. These blood cells stimulate the healing and renewal processes of the skin.

A salon or clinic performing plasma lifting must be chosen very carefully, since the procedure and blood processing require special knowledge.

If in doubt, you can choose an alternative technique - mesotherapy. The effect of this method is based on the deep subcutaneous injection of vitamins and medications that stimulate cell regeneration.

Hardware cosmetology

Injection correction methods have a number of contraindications. In addition, some patients find it psychologically difficult to resort to injections. If for any reason it is not possible to remove an existing deep defect with fillers that is not amenable to surface treatment, it is recommended to resort to hardware cosmetology methods.

The following procedures are effective for marionette wrinkles:

  • radio frequency lifting (RF-lifting),
  • laser tightening and resurfacing of the stratum corneum,
  • microcurrent influence,
  • ultrasonic correction.

They have a long-lasting effect and a small number of contraindications.

Is it possible to remove marionette wrinkles at home?

Many women are interested in the question: is it possible to get rid of wrinkles of grief on their own, without injections and hardware methods? Of course, salon treatments are much more effective than home methods. It is impossible to remove deep folds at home, but you can smooth out small wrinkles. There are several ways to do this.

Gymnastics for the face

When the first marionette wrinkles appear, it is recommended to start doing facial exercises. If you practice regularly (10-15 minutes every day), the results will not be long in coming.

Here are some simple exercises for the oral area:

  1. Place the index fingers of both hands on the corners of your lips. Tighten your lips, moving your fingers towards the center of your mouth.
  2. Gently stretch the folds downwards, smoothing them out.
  3. Take a deep breath into your mouth until your cheeks swell. Hold them in this position for 2-3 seconds. Repeat the exercise up to 10 times.
  4. Fold your lips into a tube and pull them forward. Repeat up to 20 times.
  5. Alternately inflate one or the other cheek.

Gymnastics for the face

Anti-wrinkle massage

For better results, gymnastics can be combined with massage. Massage accelerates the blood, activates metabolic and regenerative processes in cells, and improves skin tone.

Before starting the procedure, remove your makeup, wash your face and wash your hands with soap. You can first take a steam bath or apply a warm compress to your face (wet a terry towel in hot water, squeeze and hold on your face for 5-10 minutes). To make your fingers glide better over the skin, it is advisable to use cosmetic oil.

Massage technique

Using gentle movements, without strong pressure, move your fingertips in the following directions:

  • from the center of the chin to the ears;
  • from the hollow under the lower lip to the ears;
  • from the central point above the upper lip to the temples;
  • from the corners of the lips to the ears.

The skin can not only be stroked, but also lightly pinched or tapped. The procedure time is 10-15 minutes.

Beauty care

To maintain your skin in normal condition, you need to constantly care for it. To do this, you need to choose cosmetics that match the age and needs of the skin. In addition to industrial preparations, you can also use homemade face masks made from various useful products.

Basic correction methods

Considering the main reasons that cause the appearance of marionette wrinkles, it becomes clear what the main methods of combating them should be aimed at. The main task of correcting wrinkles of grief is to “fill” the loose labio-mental area with substances that compensate for the lack of hyaluronic acid and collagen.

This can be done using modern methods of skin rejuvenation, which include:

  • Contour plastic;
  • Botulinum toxin injections;
  • Plasmolifting;
  • Hardware methods.

The most popular methods in the fight against wrinkles are contouring and botulinum toxin injections.

Contour plastic

The contouring procedure performs two tasks:

  • Firstly, it replenishes the lost volume of muscle tissue;
  • Secondly, it stimulates the production of substances, the lack of which causes sagging skin tissue - collagen and hyaluronic acid.

A very dense filler gel with hyaluronic acid is injected under the wrinkles. Its task is not only to fill, but also to lift the tissue above the wrinkle. The area of the face where grief lines appear is very soft and flabby. There is no bone underneath, so the puppet line is able to “absorb” a lot of the drug. So, to correct one wrinkle, up to 0.8 ml must be injected under the skin. gel. Moreover, even this amount does not always make it possible to obtain the desired result.

The first time after the procedure, it seems that the person is smiling. In cosmetology, this effect is called the “Mona Lisa smile.” After a couple of days, this side effect disappears. Also, for several days there may be swelling at the injection site and swelling of the area into which the gel was injected.

contour-plasty

When correcting marionette wrinkles, it is advisable to combine contouring and injection of Botox into the muscles that lower the corners of the mouth.

Botulinum toxin injections

As mentioned earlier, the causes of marionette wrinkles are not only sagging tissues, but also tension in the muscle that is responsible for moving the corners of the mouth. You can weaken it with the help of botulinum therapy or, as we are used to hearing and saying more often, with the help of Botox.

Botox is the most popular injectable drug. It has long been used to eliminate facial wrinkles in the upper part of the face, but its use for removing gravitational wrinkles has been practiced recently. Botox should be used very carefully to correct marionette wrinkles, observing the dosage and clearly defining the injection point. After administration of the drug, neuromuscular transmission is blocked - the muscle contracts less, since it is limited by the Botox injection.

Plasmolifting

The essence of plasmolifting, which can also be used to remove marionette lines on the face, is that platelet-rich plasma is injected under the patient’s skin. Once in the fold area, plasma stimulates the production of skin cells responsible for its elasticity. Rejuvenation and smoothing of the skin occurs due to the regeneration of damaged and aging skin.

botulinum toxin injections

Hardware methods

Wrinkles of this group can be removed using modern hardware rejuvenation methods: laser and ultrasound correction, radio wave lifting, thermolifting, etc.

The action of these methods is based on the fact that rays and waves of a certain frequency and length penetrate into the deep layers of the skin, destroy damaged areas of the skin, stimulate the production of collagen fibers, and synthesize the “protein of youth” - elastin. The difference in the procedures is what drug is applied to the skin.

Prevention of marionette wrinkles

To prevent the early appearance of folds in the oral area, follow these recommendations:

  • if you smoke, try to quit;
  • chew gum less;
  • take good care of your skin;
  • in summer, use cosmetics with sunscreen filters;
  • do not overuse sunbathing and solarium;
  • control your mouth facial expressions;
  • insert extracted teeth on time;
  • do gymnastics and massage.

Preventing the appearance of marionette wrinkles is much easier than getting rid of them. Following the recommendations described above and proper skin care will help keep your face young for many years.

Methods for correcting marionette wrinkles

Plasmolifting

Plasmolifting will help remove the folds of grief on the face. This is an innovative and very effective procedure that involves the injection of a drug mixed with purified plasma from the patient’s own blood into the fold area. The advantage of the method: absolute compatibility of the drug with the patient’s body; no age restrictions; minimum contraindications; stimulation of skin regeneration; general rejuvenating effect.

The procedure is carried out in several stages. First, a small amount of blood is taken from the patient, then it is placed in a centrifuge, where platelet-rich plasma is released. This plasma is then injected into problem areas, in the case of marionette lines - into the folds in the corners of the mouth. The first results can be seen literally a few days after the procedure - the skin becomes elastic and the complexion improves. However, to completely get rid of the folds of grief, several procedures are necessary.

Contour plastic

The most common method for correcting grief folds.

Special fillers are injected into problem areas, filling the crease and straightening the skin in this area. Correction of marionette wrinkles with fillers is recognized as one of the most effective methods of rejuvenation. There are several drugs for facial rejuvenation. Women under 35 years of age are injected with hyaluronic acid-based products, which not only smooth out wrinkles, but also maintain skin tone.

With a constantly expanding range of hyaluronic fillers, there are not so many truly high-quality and proven ones.

Among them is Juvederm from the American company Allergan. By the way, this company is also engaged in the production of Botox.

A distinctive feature of Juvederm fillers is the high concentration of hyaluronic acid. Therefore, these drugs are used in cases where a powerful, most pronounced effect is required. Fillers are a transparent gel of varying densities, produced in disposable syringes for intradermal injections. The effect of fillers lasts up to 1.5 years.

If wrinkles are very pronounced, then Perlane is used. This is a product of the Swedish company Q-med. Due to its high density, it takes longer to absorb than other hyaluronic acid fillers. The effect of its administration occurs immediately after the procedure and lasts for a year or longer - up to two years.

When creating Perline filler, scientists used a special technique for stabilizing hyaluronic acid. As a result, the resorption of Perlane filler does not reduce, but increases the moisture content in the skin. This process is accompanied by the replacement of filler molecules with water molecules. Thus, the filler not only fills wrinkles and folds, but also provides optimal skin hydration. As the drug is absorbed, this effect does not weaken, but, on the contrary, intensifies.

One of the universal ones is Neauvia Organic filler, created by a group of Italian and Swiss scientists from 100 percent pure hyaluronic acid. And to connect hyaluronic acid molecules together, PEG polymer (polyethylene glycol) is used. It helps the filler stay in the skin for a long time without causing adverse reactions.

Newvia fillers also have amazing elasticity and plasticity. That is, the ability to change shape and size under the influence of external loads and maintain them or return to their original position. Therefore, each filler in the line adapts to the existing anatomical structures and at the same time maintains the required shape for long-term aesthetic correction. Nuvia fillers are able to create the desired volume without causing compression of surrounding tissue, thus always providing natural-looking results.

In addition, there is almost no migration of filler in tissues.

In addition to hyaluronic acid, Newvia Organic contains calcium hydroxyapatite. This naturally occurring mineral triggers the formation of new collagen in the skin. As a result, the density, firmness and elasticity of the skin improves, acquiring the ideal double effect of volume and hydration.

After the age of 35, denser fillers are used to fill wrinkles and create the necessary framework to support the skin.

Radiesse from German manufacturers is one of the world's best preparations for smoothing out deep wrinkles.

Radiesse differs from gels based on hyaluronic acid in that it can not only smooth out the skin, filling wrinkles, but also activate the process of producing new collagen in the skin due to calcium hydroxyapatite, which is part of the drug. Thus, this filler works not only from the outside, but, above all, from the inside, allowing for long-term improvement in skin quality. The results of Radiesse correction last for a long time.

Another undoubted advantage of Radiesse is that it does not attract water, therefore, it can be used even by patients who are prone to edema (for the tired aging morphotype). Hyaluronic fillers are not recommended for them, since hyaluronic acid attracts moisture.

For a more effective process of smoothing out deep folds of grief, the combined administration of drugs for contouring and plasma is recommended.

Hardware techniques

To eliminate deep wrinkles in adulthood, hardware procedures are also used. For example, Ulthera therapy.

This SMAS (skin tightening) procedure is based on the use of microfocused ultrasound. It affects soft tissues at a depth of up to 4.5–5 mm. Thanks to ultrasound, lines are formed at the level of the superficial muscular aponeurotic system, consisting of local heating areas - thermal coagulation points. The temperature at these points is brought to 60–70 degrees, due to which collagen fibers are shortened and compacted, and immediate lifting occurs -Effect.

Thermal effects also promote the migration of fibroblasts (connective tissue cells of the body, whose main function is the synthesis of collagen and elastin) to the area of damage. Therefore, about a week after the Ulthera-therapy procedure, the synthesis of type III collagen (also called young collagen) increases, with its subsequent transformation into type I collagen, not only in the immediate areas of thermal influence, but also under them. Thanks to the process of neocollagenogenesis, an additional lifting effect is achieved and within a month after exposure, the skin becomes thicker and wrinkles are smoothed out.

The main result (peak performance) is achieved after six months.

It is important to note that the surface of the skin - the epidermis - is not damaged, and this means there is no rehabilitation period.

There is also a treatment protocol that combines Radiesse and Altera procedures. First, the Alteratherapy procedure is performed, then Radiesse filler is injected.

Recommended regimen: introduce Radiesse into the same areas in which the Ulthera-therapy procedure was performed. This way, a double lifting effect is obtained - strengthening the ligamentous apparatus and the production of young collagen due to the stimulation of fibroblasts with calcium hydroxyapatite.

The combination of Altera + Radiesse is most suitable for the tired (pasty, edematous) morphotype of aging. This is generally the most common type of aging for most women of Slavic appearance. If in the morning the owners of this type of appearance look good, then in the evening there is a deepening of wrinkles and folds.

With this type of aging, a volume deficit in the middle third of the face, pronounced nasolabial and lip buccal folds, and defined lip sacs appear early.

For a tired morphotype, Ulthera therapy in combination with Radiesse gives an excellent effect. The filler will add the final touches to the finished portrait of returned youth! The result of the combined correction lasts for 3 or more years.

Laser treatments

American fractional photothermolysis Fraxel helps cope with wrinkles of any severity.

The fractional principle is as follows: a thin laser beam acts not on a large area, but on a micro-section of the skin, comparable in diameter to the diameter of a human hair. During exposure, old and damaged collagen and elastin are destroyed in the micro-area. As a response, the body begins to restore the damaged area - new skin appears, free from defects. Since the diameter of the microdamage is very small and there are many healthy cells around, recovery occurs very quickly and the procedure is safe.

The fractional principle allows you to influence the skin much deeper than with laser resurfacing. Thus, the Fraxel laser is capable of forming micro-zones of influence to a depth of up to 1.5 mm. This is enough to destroy old collagen. In this case, the uppermost layer of skin - the epidermis - is not injured, so after the procedure there is no need for a clinical or home rehabilitation process. There is no need to apply protective bandages, use special ointments, or sit at home for weeks.

When carrying out a fractional photothermolysis procedure with a device, the doctor can always accurately select the degree and depth of exposure to the laser beam. Thanks to the targeted impact, the result is expected, carefully weighed, and optimally selected.

After a course of 3-5 Fraxel procedures, the skin will become elastic and beautiful. Since the procedure stimulates the formation of new, blemish-free skin, the rejuvenation results will last for many years.
