Face mask, eye area: delicate skin - reliable protection

Dark circles under the eyes don't look very nice. They make our face not only tired, but also old. But the age is already not young. Dark circles and bags under the eyes appear for several reasons:

1. Heredity. There is no escape from this.

2. With age, our skin loses its elasticity, firmness and turgor. It becomes much thinner than it was before.

3. Disorders that make us cry. After crying, we calm down, but tears cause swelling and bags under the eyes.

4. Insufficient sleep. We all know that we need to sleep at least 7 hours, but not all of us can go to bed early. Housework, work, children - sometimes we don’t manage to do everything we need in a day. Or, the complete opposite, when we allow ourselves to sleep more than usual. Also, it does not have a very good effect on our eyes.

5. Impaired circulation of water removal from the body. Very often, water simply lingers in the body and causes swelling not only on the face, but also throughout the body. In this case, I'm talking about salt. We all know that salt retains water. And our eyes are no exception.

6. Allergies. A stuffy nose causes blood vessels to dilate, which causes fluid to accumulate under the eyes. And thus bags under the eyes are formed. And if you add lacrimation to this, then here is the result, as they say: “on the face.”

7. Stress and fatigue. Very often, being in this state, a person begins to develop a so-called disease - mononucleosis. The eyes begin to look puffy and yellow in color. Sometimes people call this disease jaundice.

8. Working at the computer. Our beloved computer affects our entire health. Sitting at the monitor for a long time, as a result, a variety of ailments in the body.

Some of these reasons cannot be removed or solved in any way (genetics, aging). But we can deal with other reasons. Or at least slightly slow down and reduce the process of dark circles appearing under the eyes.

I have cool budget masks in my collection to get rid of dark circles under the eyes. Simple masks that you can make yourself from common homemade ingredients.

A very simple and inexpensive homemade mask for dark circles under the eyes

The mask consists of common ingredients that we have at home: honey, egg white and vitamin E.

I take vitamin E from regular vitamin capsules, pierce it with a pin and get liquid vitamin E.

Preparation:

Squeeze a few capsules of vitamin E into a small container. Add a little honey and egg white to it. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Application:

I apply it under the eyes and wait about 20 minutes. The sensation is a little unpleasant: the protein dries out/dries out and the honey creates discomfort during absorption and drying. After 20 minutes, I wash off with plain water. It takes a long time to wash off because of the honey. After the mask I do not apply anything to the skin.

You can store the mask in the refrigerator, but tightly closed and for no more than three days.

Another mask, I just love it. It removes bags under the eyes, refreshes and smoothes the skin under the eyes.

General approach to use

With proper use of masks , you can avoid various troubles in the form of allergic reactions (if the recommended dosage of components is increased) and achieve the maximum positive effect.

For people who prefer to make masks not in beauty salons, but at home, cosmetologists recommend adhering to the following rules:

  1. When using masks of a very liquid consistency, it is advisable to make special pads from gauze or discs (patches).
  2. Products must be applied with gentle movements without rubbing the composition into the skin.
  3. When rinsing, it is also necessary to use gentle movements so as not to damage the sensitive skin around the eyes.
  4. All ingredients should be mixed only in the specified proportions to avoid the development of side effects and allergic reactions.
  5. If the components are mixed correctly, but after a few minutes you feel a strong burning sensation and itching, you should not wait until the end of the procedure. The mask must be washed off immediately and an alternative recipe must be chosen.

Important! To immediately determine whether allergic reactions will occur when applying the mask, you need to prepare a small amount of the product and apply it to the inner bend of the elbow.

The skin in this area is also highly sensitive, and if no symptoms of irritation appear in this area within 15 minutes, the product can also be used for facial skin.

What causes skin color changes under the eyes?

If you are familiar firsthand with such a nuisance as the appearance of blue, sunken or dark circles under the eyes, then it may be a consequence of:

  • lack of vitamins in the body, especially C, K and P (routine);
  • chronic fatigue, overwork;
  • lack of sleep and stress;
  • insufficient or improper skin care;
  • diseases of the kidneys, endocrine glands, cardiovascular system;
  • intoxication of the body, for example due to long-term use of medications;
  • bad habits.

From a physiological point of view, the formation of dark circles under the eyes is associated with poor blood circulation in the face or specifically in the eyeball area and under the skin around the eyes.

What masks should be used for the skin around the eyes?

The skin around the eyes is soft and sensitive, its condition changes not only with age, but also with the seasons. Stores are filled with masks for the skin around the eyes, so choosing the right option won’t be difficult. Now you need to figure out which mask options are best to choose in order to achieve a good effect. There are selection rules, they are as follows:

  • You need to buy the cream whose packaging indicates the age category for which it can be used. A quality product that provides good results cannot be universal for any age.
  • In summer, you should definitely use moisturizers that will prevent your skin from drying out and protect you from harsh sun exposure.
  • In winter, preference is given to nourishing creams; they will not only saturate the skin with the necessary components, but also protect against the harsh effects of frost.
  • If you are 50 years old, you should not use creams that are intended for 35-40 years; they will not give the desired result, but will only lead to unjustified costs.

Not everyone can choose a unique product for themselves the first time; sometimes you have to test several options and compare them with each other to determine which one has a more beneficial effect on your facial skin.

Rules for caring for the skin around the eyes

Follow our recommendations to ensure that the mask for the area around the eyes brings maximum benefits.

  1. 1 Cleansing Clean the area around the eyes with special products - micellar lotion or other eye makeup remover.
  2. 2
    Rules for applying the mask Apply the composition to cleansed skin. We are talking exclusively about motionless eyelids - upper and lower. Cosmetics should not be applied to the moving eyelid unless the manufacturer indicates otherwise. Homemade cosmetics should not be applied to it under any circumstances.
  3. 3
    Exposure time The mask in this zone is usually kept within 15 minutes. Moreover, it is better to spend this time in a horizontal position and with your eyes closed - for maximum effect.
  4. 4
    How to properly wash off a mask A regular mask is removed with a cotton pad. This should be done as gently and carefully as possible so as not to injure the sensitive skin in this area. It is these risks that have inspired modern manufacturers to release patches. Because every wash off of the mask in the area around the eyes is additional stress for the skin. After a patch or compress, the remaining product is simply driven into the skin with your fingertips.
  5. 5
    Care after the mask You can apply serum or cream for the skin around the eyes.

To ensure that the skin in the eye area has a natural and pleasant color, it is important to pay special attention to its care. To begin with, you should pay attention to your daily routine. So, healthy and full sleep should last at least 7 hours, it is recommended to go to bed early and get up in the morning. You should also make time for walks in the fresh air.

And time can be found even with a very busy schedule - for example, when returning home by bus, get off the transport a couple of stops before home and walk the remaining distance. If your work involves spending a long time at the computer, then you need to periodically interrupt your activities and do eye exercises.

Exercise for the eyes

Proper nutrition will also be an important factor in improving the condition of the skin around the eyes. You should reduce the amount of tea and coffee you consume, avoid salty or spicy foods, drink liquids during the day, and avoid drinking heavily in the evening. It’s very good if you can replace part of your diet with vegetables, herbs, and fruits.

Ginger tea

Ultraviolet radiation in large quantities is harmful to the skin, so in sunny weather it is better to wear glasses or use creams to protect the skin from sunburn. It is important to improve the emotional situation around you, to react less to stress if you cannot avoid it.

Masks against dark circles

Homemade masks to relieve bruises and lighten the skin around the eyes can be made from various products and cosmetic oils. The most popular are potatoes, parsley, lemon, dairy products, cucumber, and medicinal herbs.

Potato

Most women use a mixture of grated raw potatoes and olive oil, applying this mixture to the eye area for 20 minutes. We suggest trying, instead of potato pulp, using potato juice and olive oil, mixed in a 2:1 ratio, respectively, for example, 2 tablespoons of juice to 1 tablespoon of oil.

Soak two cotton pads in the resulting product and apply them to the skin for half an hour, after which do not wash off the residue, but let it be completely absorbed. This mask can also be used for the entire face.

The lightening properties of raw potatoes can be used in a mixture with oatmeal and milk in approximately equal volumes. In this case, it is better to pass the potatoes through a meat grinder or grind them into a homogeneous pulp in a blender. The mask, which lasts 20-25 minutes, will soften the skin, slightly whiten it and soothe it, relieving irritation.

Parsley

Homemade eye masks with fresh parsley effectively whiten and recharge the skin with vitamins. Use its juice or carefully chopped greens in the following combinations:

  • parsley and almond oil 1:1;
  • sour cream, green juice and lemon juice 1 tsp each;
  • juice of parsley, lemon and cucumber 1:1:1.

Parsley is rich in vitamin C, which is especially useful for eliminating dark circles under the eyes.

Cottage cheese

Curd masks also have a slight brightening effect and nourish the skin. You can mix natural cottage cheese with milk and lemon juice - this is a good nourishing mask. In combination with green tea and lemon juice, curd can be used to prepare a toning whitening mask.

After adding 2-3 drops of lemon essential oil and 2 drops of orange to a teaspoon of cottage cheese, lubricate the area under the eyes every other day for 15 minutes, then wipe with pink or cool mineral water.

Other recipes

A popular mask against dark circles and bruises with walnuts. Grind it into a fine powder, add butter and a little lemon juice and keep the product on the skin for about 20 minutes.

Regular rubbing of the face and around the eyes with cold milk, as well as a mask of cucumber juice and sour cream, are effective. Once a week, make fortified compresses with orange and cucumber juice in equal proportions.

What are the benefits of natural products?

Some people prefer to use specialized cosmetic formulations instead of home remedies. However, they may not always be useful and improve the situation. In some cases, you can even get the opposite effect. For example, many people use fatty creams to care for the skin of the face and eyelids, but such products clog the pores and make it difficult to breathe, causing skin cells to accumulate excess fluid and the load on the capillaries increases. The result of these processes is dark circles under the eyes.

Clogged pores on the face

Natural homemade masks do not have such side effects. Moreover, their effect is longer lasting, but only with regular use. From store-bought products, you can use creams that have a lifting effect. The main thing is to buy a quality product.

In order to forget about blue or dark circles under the eyes, it would be a good idea to start by giving up bad habits and starting to adhere to a healthy lifestyle. Spend more time outdoors, move, do not overuse salty, spicy and spicy foods, giving preference to greens, cereals, fresh vegetables and fruits, and clean water.

An even more important step will be to examine the body for the presence of any chronic diseases, because they may be the main cause of the dark color of the skin around the eyes. Include a light facial massage in your daily care, which you do morning and evening after cleansing the skin with light tapping movements with your fingertips. Cool or contrasting compresses are also a good addition to your skin care routine.

The main ingredient in all remedies for dark circles under the eyes is a brightening agent. Products for homemade masks should also have a whitening effect. Perfect for:

  • Fresh greens or dried herbs - parsley, chamomile, sage;
  • Oatmeal or white bread;
  • Tea leaves from black and green varieties;
  • Dairy – cottage cheese, sour cream, butter;
  • The best vegetables to use are potatoes and cucumber;
