The fight against wrinkles is an eternal problem for every woman. And if our grandmothers were forced to cope with improvised means, then it is much more difficult for us. You need to choose not only effective cosmetics, but also ones that fit your budget. Moreover, even the most expensive means often turn out to be useless. What if you don’t waste your money and try the forgotten elixirs of youth? For example, honey against wrinkles.
Does honey help with wrinkles?
Wrinkles appear due to damage to collagen and elastin fibers. This is due to the fact that with age, the metabolic rate is disrupted. Skin cells do not receive enough water and beneficial microelements, which is why they lose their elasticity.
Honey is a natural product that our grandmothers, great-great-grandmothers and even the ancient Egyptians used to fight wrinkles.
The reason for the popularity of honey is that it contains useful enzymes (diastase, invertase, amylase, peroxidase, catalase, etc.). These enzymes are catalysts for our body, that is, they speed up metabolism and promote the absorption of beneficial microelements.
In addition, bee honey contains vitamins (B1, B2, B5, B6, B9, C, PP), microelements (manganese, copper, iodine) and organic acids (lactic, malic, citric, etc.). The body needs them to maintain acid-base balance, renew and nourish cells. This is what is needed to combat skin aging.
Wrinkles are a normal natural process that no woman has ever been able to avoid. However, some people become covered with wrinkles at 20 years old, while others look great at 50. And all because these women know how to care for their skin, speed up metabolism and stimulate cell renewal. Let's try to find out their secrets.

- essential essence of dill seeds 2 drops;
- Frankincense essential oil 1-2 drops.
How to increase the effectiveness of masks with honey against wrinkles on the face?
Whatever products you use, remember, one-time use is useless. Honey alone will not help against wrinkles on the face.
In the fight against skin aging, consistency, regularity and an integrated approach are important.
To increase the effectiveness of homemade honey masks, get rid of the following habits that are harmful to your skin:
- Long exposure to the sun and regular tanning in a solarium . Tanning dries out your skin, so be sure to moisturize before and after sunbathing. For this purpose, use products with an SPF protection factor of at least 15.
- Alcohol and tobacco products . They slow down metabolism, and cells do not receive useful microelements. Yes, it’s difficult to get rid of the smoking habit, but a beautiful neck is more important!
- Poor nutrition . This habit has never made anyone healthier or younger. Remember, we are what we eat. Would you like your skin to be as smooth as an apple or as parched as a fried potato? Before you eat anything, think about this comparison.
- Dehydration . Lack of fluid leads to dry skin and, consequently, the appearance of wrinkles. You need to drink little and often. As night approaches, the portion of water should decrease so that there is no swelling in the morning.
- Incorrect care . The products in your cosmetic bag should match your skin type. All procedures must be regular and consistent. If you do not take care of your skin for an entire month, rare anti-wrinkle honey masks will not have the desired effect.
For the eye area
The sweet bee product can also be used to combat wrinkles under the eyes. When caring for this area of the face, you need to be very careful not to stretch the thin skin. It is recommended to apply the prepared compositions not with your fingers, but with a foam sponge.
Prepare a honey mask for wrinkles around the eyes immediately before application; keep it on for no more than 20 minutes.
With banana and cream
This composition is ideal for application to the delicate skin of the lower eyelids. To prepare it, you need to chop a quarter of a banana and add to it a teaspoon of heavy cream and liquid honey. Bring the mixture until smooth.
With aloe
To obtain fresh aloe juice, you need to pick the bottom leaf of the plant, wrap it in parchment or cling film and keep it in the refrigerator for a week. Then chop the leaf and squeeze out the juice.
Add an equal amount of honey to the resulting juice. Use for application to the skin of the lower eyelids.
With sour cream
To prepare this composition, you need to mix sour cream with a sweet natural beekeeping product. The finished composition can be applied not only under the eyes, but also on the entire face.
How often should honey treatments be done?
Masks should be done 1-2 times a week. It is advisable to combine different ingredients so that the skin receives different microelements. Visible results will appear after at least a month of effort. But we absolutely cannot stop there. Keep trying if looking beautiful and healthy is important to you.
If you absolutely don’t have enough time for masks, use honey milk to wash your face. It is suitable for all skin types, and its preparation takes a couple of minutes:
Dissolve a teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water and wash your face before going to bed. After 10 minutes, rinse your skin with cool water and apply your night cream.
After applying the cream, do a massage, which will increase the effectiveness of honey procedures.
Using oatmeal
Oatmeal is an excellent addition to honey-based masks. This ingredient helps exfoliate dead skin particles from the top layer of skin. As a result, the face will look fresher and younger. To carry out the procedures, buy the most ordinary Hercules flakes (not instant cereal!) and grind it in a blender or coffee grinder, but not very finely; you should get small grains, not flour.
Refreshing
This is an excellent SOS remedy that can be used if you urgently need to get yourself in order. Take a couple of spoons of prepared cereal and pour in a small amount of hot milk. Cover the dish with a lid to swell. Then add a spoonful of liquid honey and puree made from half a banana to the thick mass.
It is best to apply this composition while lying down, since in a vertical position the mass will slide off the face. Apply a thick layer to the skin, place wet gauze on top with holes for the lips and eyes. Rinse off the mixture with warm water.
Rejuvenating
In this version of the mask, you need to pour brewed green tea over the prepared oatmeal. After the cereal swells, add a spoonful of honey and five drops of lemon essential oil.
How to massage against wrinkles?
- Place your fingers on your forehead. Raise your eyebrows up, and with your fingers try to lower them down, providing slight resistance. Massage the area between the eyebrows, moving from the bridge of the nose to the ends of the eyebrows.
- Use your fingers to massage your cheeks in a circular motion, moving from the corners of your mouth to your eyes and ears.
- Open your mouth as wide as possible and pronounce the sounds “U”, “I”, “A”. Repeat for 2-3 minutes.
- Strain your neck and move your head forward, look up, right and left. Straighten your neck, and then try to move your head left and right, as Indian dancers do (or as if you want to eavesdrop on someone first from the right and then from the left).
- Using stroking movements with the back of your hand, massage your neck and chin.
If possible, repeat this procedure every day.
