Every girl who is about to go for hair removal wants to know how long the wax lasts. Not all experts can say how long wax lasts, since this question is individual. The duration of maintaining smooth, hair-free skin may depend on various factors, including the professionalism of the specialist, the client’s hormonal background, the quality of the wax, and the thoroughness of the preparation of the procedure. Today we will find out how long waxing lasts on the legs and other parts of the body. Read the following article on the pages of the magazine.
How long does wax last?
There is no definite answer to this question, because everything depends on the physiological characteristics of a particular person.
There is no definite answer to this question, because everything depends on the physiological characteristics of a particular person. The effect lasts for about a month, after which the procedure will have to be repeated. The main thing is to wait until your hair is long enough. It has been noticed that depending on how many procedures are done and how to do it, there is less discomfort each time.
The body gets used to it, and the hair grows thinner and slower.
To remove hair from the face or legs, you usually need to do 5-6 depilations with hot or warm wax over two to four weeks. How long does cold wax last? You'll have to tinker with it a little longer.
Important! How long does wax depilation last? The average figure between the two thresholds (14 and 24) is 19 days.
What is waxing (waxing)?
Waxing is carried out using a special warm composition, which is applied to previously prepared skin. This procedure can be performed on almost any area of the body, even the most delicate ones (bikini area and armpits).
The best effect is achieved if waxing is carried out with a hair length of at least 3-5 mm. For this procedure, types of product are used, such as soft or hard, as well as water-soluble wax or wax strips for depilation in the bikini area.
Waxing or waxing is the oldest cosmetic procedure.
How long does waxing last?
If you have never used this method and have not used a razor to remove hair, then after the first waxing procedure the hairs will not be visible for 21-30 days. Women who have regularly used razors and other hair removal methods for 3-5 years enjoy smooth skin after using wax for about two weeks.
Note that the duration of the effect of wax hair removal is individual for everyone. For some women, it is enough to visit a specialist once every three to four weeks, while others rush for a second correction within a week. This is due to the hormonal background of a woman: in some young ladies, the level of testosterone in the body is increased, which is why the hair on the body is pronounced. However, you should not lose sight of such cases when, after waxing, body hair stopped growing altogether.
A common trend for most women is to reduce the amount of unwanted hair with regular waxing. This is explained very simply: removing hairs from the roots thins their shaft, despite the fact that the hair follicle is not completely destroyed. However, after some time, individual hairs weaken so much that they stop growing altogether.

In this article we will look at the back depilation procedure in detail. What are the indications for back hair removal? What results can I expect from the procedure? Read the answers to these and other questions in our article.
Does everyone grow hair on their back?
Hair grows on every girl's back. The only difference is the amount and length of hair in a given area. For some, the hair is a barely noticeable fluff, while for other women it can be dark and thick, with high density. Everything here is purely individual. We can only say that thick and dark hair on the back of women is quite common, especially near the lumbar area. In most cases, they represent a path that rises from the butt to the level of the thoracic spine. Less common is hair growth on the back to the neck, on the shoulder blades.
Causes of hair growth on the back
The reasons can also be very different. Most often, these are individual characteristics of the body. Some are born blonde, some brunette, some are tall, some are average. It’s the same with the hair on the back - for some it is invisible, while for others the hair growth is more pronounced, dark in color and thicker.
Also, the cause of hair growth on the back can be a hormonal imbalance (for example, after childbirth, illness, hormonal therapy, etc.). If hair on your back appeared in adulthood, it may make sense to consult an endocrinologist. It also makes sense to consult a doctor for those women whose hair growth is excessive - more than 1/3 of the back is covered with hair, the hair is thick and dark. In such cases, it is worth consulting with an endocrinologist - perhaps the reason lies in the incorrect production of any hormones.
Back depilation - how we do it
There are 3 different methods for back hair removal:
- Manual technique (performed using nitrile gloves with fingers);
- Spatula technique (performed using disposable wooden spatulas);
- Bandage method (performed using a sugar cartridge and disposable bandages).
In our salon, the master will select the optimal hair removal method just for you. But since the area of hair removal from the back is extensive, the most used method of back depilation in our country is the bandage technique. Thanks to her, we achieve maximum painlessness of the procedure.
The procedure for back depilation, if it is done with sugar paste, is carried out using the unique Depilux-Bio technology.
Attention! We perform back depilation with sugar using the Depilux-Bio technology. Read more about sugaring using the Depilux-Bio technology.
Briefly, the procedure goes as follows: first we degrease the skin and cleanse it. To do this, we use a special product to prepare the skin for depilation. Then, to ensure better adhesion, the skin must be treated with a special product that does not contain fragrances. We use only environmentally friendly powders made from natural materials. This protects the client's skin from injury and irritation. Then the back depilation procedure is performed directly.
Important!
The back depilation procedure is performed with natural hypoallergenic eco-paste containing fructose, glucose, water and citric acid.
All components of the paste are natural, which guarantees the safety of the procedure. Next, we take a sugar cartridge preheated to the optimal temperature (37 - 40 degrees Celsius) and apply it to our area against hair growth. After the composition is applied, the master makes a sharp jerk strictly parallel to the skin along the hair growth using natural cotton disposable bandages. Then we repeat this action the required number of times until the hair is completely removed from the back.
After the procedure, the skin is moisturized with a special natural product. This relieves skin irritation and also promotes healing of pores after hair removal.

How long does waxing last and how to prolong the effect?
To enhance the effect, there are various substances, for example, lotions. They are used after the procedure; the active substances have a direct effect on the hair follicles, inhibiting hair growth.
In addition, the lotion thins the hair and makes it disappear completely in the future. From a certain place, of course. Most of the products have different formulations, but usually they contain substances that soothe the skin and have antiseptic properties.
What undesirable consequences could there be? In fact, this method is considered one of the simplest and most trouble-free.
But in exceptional cases the following may occur:
- dry skin,
- irritation,
- pimples,
- deeply ingrown hairs.
If you do waxing in a salon, then such problems are practically eliminated. At home, they are rarely observed.
Some experts do not recommend waxing during pregnancy. Whatever one may say, sometimes the sensations from the procedure can be unpleasant. And separate sets of cosmetics for depilation or after it are not suitable for women in an interesting position.
How long does wax hair removal last: extend the effect with folk remedies
You shouldn’t limit yourself exclusively to professional products.
You shouldn’t limit yourself exclusively to professional products. You can choose regular creams that are sold in cosmetic stores, or order through a consultant.
Formic alcohol can be used to slow down the growth of unwanted vegetation. It also relieves possible inflammation, brightens and makes hair thinner. Apply the product using rubbing movements in the first week after hair removal. After a short break of several days, the course is repeated.
Among folk remedies, lemon is the most famous. Both its juice and peel are used. After the session, the skin is rubbed with a crust or a cotton pad soaked in juice.
On average, hairs begin to grow after 2-4 weeks. Post-epilation products will help consolidate the result; it is better to choose from a professional line. Many of them not only slow down growth, but also take care of the skin and prevent the appearance of ingrown hairs.”
How to use wax in cartridges
To prevent the procedure from causing harm, you need to know how to use a wax melter. A few hours before depilation, you need to take a shower and cleanse your skin with a scrub. After the skin has dried, you need to apply baby powder to it.
Once all stages of preparation are completed, you can begin the depilation itself. The sequence of actions is as follows:
- First, the cartridge must be placed in a wax heating device.
- After 20-25 minutes the wax will completely melt.
- The device must be turned upside down so that the wax flows to the head, and a strip is drawn on the skin. The wax should be distributed along the hairline.
The wax melter must be kept in a vertical position, otherwise the wax will begin to flow out. You need to glue a depilatory strip on top of the applied composition and leave about 1 cm below, then press it down so that it fits more tightly to the skin. After a minute, take the strip by the left bottom edge and quickly pull it in the direction against hair growth.
If you were unable to pull out all the hairs the first time, you can remove them with the same strip. But this is only permissible if there is wax left around the edges.
Once the hairs have been removed from one area, you can move on to the next. The same depilatory strip is suitable for multiple use. As soon as the wax layer reaches 2-3 mm, it will become difficult to peel off.
If the wax in the cartridge hardens, you can reheat it in a wax melter and continue the procedure. After depilation, you need to apply a soothing product or vegetable oil to the skin. The treated area should not be wet for 8 hours to prevent irritation.
If, after the strip is glued, there are difficulties in removing it, this will indicate that the skin is not dry enough. In this case, the wax will need to be allowed to cool and a new strip should be used. If all these manipulations do not produce results, the wax can be wiped off with oil and the composition can be applied again.
Contraindications to the procedure
Depilation using wax components is unacceptable in situations where the patient is pregnant, suffers from decompensated diabetes mellitus, or has the following problems with the skin in the area that is planned to be treated with wax:
- phlebeurysm;
- wounds, fresh scars, cuts;
- malignant and benign neoplasms;
- herpetic rash;
- papillomas, condylomas, moles that should not be injured.
It is not recommended to carry out the procedure for viral infections, colds, stress, heart problems and diseases accompanied by high fever. Also, you should not do biodepilation immediately after intense tanning, hair removal using chemicals, or shortly after the previous waxing (less than 2 weeks).
