Why should oil be applied to the ends?

Hair becomes dry and brittle due to a lack of sebum, which protects it from drying out, so the most damaged areas of any hair are the ends, while the upper part requires almost no nutrition. If you apply thick oil textures to it, weight and greasiness cannot be avoided. The only oil-containing product that can be applied over the entire length is an oil spray: this is a cross between a conditioning spray and a product for the ends of the hair.

  • Leave the product to absorb for 2-3 hours.

You will achieve better results if you keep this wrap on all night. You will like the result, the condition of your hair will noticeably improve, and its growth will accelerate. After about 15-20 days, the curls will grow by about 2-3 cm.

For hair loss, pumpkin oil should be rubbed into the roots and scalp 2-3 times a week. It can be mixed with burdock or castor oil to enhance the effect.

What is included in hair oils?

The main active ingredients are silicones and oils. The former condition, act as a protective barrier and prevent the evaporation of moisture from the hair. They also smooth out the cuticle of the hair, so after application it shines so beautifully and is easier to comb.

The latter are responsible for nutrition and health. At the same time, each oil has its own peculiarity: coconut oil, for example, is one of the few that can penetrate inside the hair and restore its structure from the inside; argan oil nourishes due to fatty acids, phenol and vitamin E.

The ideal option is if the product contains several types of oils at once: for example, the famous Mythic Oil L'Oréal Professionnel contains a whole cocktail of beneficial vitamins and antioxidants: life-giving oils of avocado, grape seed and cranberry.

What are the benefits of base oils in hair care ^

Natural base oils for hair are a liquid extracted from a wide variety of plants and contain many vitamins and microelements. Basically, they have a rather thick consistency, thanks to which they manage to tightly envelop each hair and penetrate deep into their structure.

The benefits of base oils in hair care have been proven for a long time: in ancient times they were used for cosmetic purposes and successfully treated many trichological diseases, and now they are the most common ingredients in masks.

Which base oil is best for hair?

The specific action depends on the specific type of component. There are many base oils for dry hair that are used in medicinal products, both in pure form and in mixtures with other substances:

  • Castor oil: quickly regenerates damage, moisturizes, adds shine;
  • Olive: nourishes, increases moisture levels, makes strands elastic;
  • Flaxseed: protects from ultraviolet radiation, restores cut ends;
  • Coconut: smoothes, makes curls shiny.

Basic oils for oily hair have drying properties:

  • Burdock: is neutral and suitable for everyone, but when mixed with other components, it strengthens the roots and treats dandruff in oily curls;
  • Jojoba: relieves irritation, eliminates seborrhea, stops hair loss;
  • Grape seeds: has a general strengthening effect;
  • Pumpkin: relieves oily seborrhea, stimulates growth;
  • Almond: prevents hair loss, activates growth processes.

For what problems are the best basic hair oils used at home:

  • Lack of moisture, damage and excessive dryness;
  • Dull curl color;
  • Lack of natural growth;
  • Baldness or hair loss;
  • Seborrhea and dandruff;
  • Lack of volume;
  • End excision.

How to properly use the best base oils for hair in masks:

  • The oil must be warmed before applying or mixing;
  • Calculation of proportions should be done as follows: for short strands, 1-2 tbsp is enough. l. total mass, for medium - 2-3 tbsp. l., and for long ones - 3-5 tbsp. l.;
  • After the composition has been applied, you should put a plastic cap on your head and cover yourself with a scarf to create a thermal insulation effect;
  • For treatment, only two weekly sessions are enough, which must be completed each time by washing off the mixture with shampoo.

Is it possible to replace a professional product with vegetable oils?

The most important argument in favor of professional products: their formula is thought out to the smallest detail and tested many times. It is very difficult to predict how a natural product will behave on the skin or curls. As a result, at a minimum, we have no effect, at a maximum - an allergic reaction, greasy hair and, as a result, your spoiled mood.

Remember that natural ingredients are very complex in chemical composition and should be used only after consultation with professional stylists.

Precautionary measures

  1. Do not buy cheap products from dubious places; they may be generously added to other oils - soybean, mineral. Choose a quality product from trusted manufacturers, preferably in a pharmacy.
  2. Before use, do a sensitivity test, because allergies can occur to anything.
  3. Do not frequently apply oils with a high comedogenic index to the scalp, preferably no more than 2 times a month.
  4. During the period of active hair loss, you cannot treat your hair with oils!
  5. After oil masks, do not use a hot hair dryer, iron or curling iron.

Life hack for using hair oil

“To distribute the oil evenly throughout your hair, tie a low ponytail, squeeze one or two pumps of oil into the palm of your hand and distribute along the entire length of the ponytail. Then remove the elastic band, take a massage comb and comb the strands along the entire length. This way your curls will receive exactly the amount of oil they need without weighing them down.”
