Neckline massage: how to keep your skin youthful

When should you get a massage?

You can start massage of the décolleté area from the age of 30. At this age, external signs of aging are not yet visible, but rest assured, the process has already taken over the dermis from the inside. Thin, fat-free skin on the décolleté can imperceptibly and quickly turn into a dried out and wrinkled surface that will betray age.

Décolleté massage is a complex of both preventive and restorative anti-aging procedures aimed at stimulating one’s own collagen, moisturizing the skin and supplying it with oxygen.

Massage techniques

To perform a massage, you need to master its techniques:

  • Rubbing . It is performed with soft circular stroking movements starting from the center and moving the palm towards the axillary lymph nodes and collarbones.
  • Kneading . Manipulations are carried out in the same direction, but this time involving the skin. Carefully, so as not to damage the dermis, the décolleté and neck area is worked on.
  • Squeezing . More intense movements are expected. Use your palms to grab an area of skin and knead it well until slightly reddened. Direction – from center to periphery.

Massaging is recommended after a shower on fresh, prepared skin.

Direction and location of Langer lines

The most significant area for women that requires cosmetic care is the face. Many people understand intuitively how to massage it, listening to their tactile sensations. To such knowledge it is worth adding time-tested classic lines. They are subject to a single principle: the fibers are directed from bottom to top and from the center to the periphery.

Face lines:

  • from the center of the chin - to the lower edge of the earlobes;
  • from the depression above the upper lip - to the middle of the outer ear;
  • from the wings of the nose at the beginning of the nasolabial fold - to the upper tips of the ears.
  • from the middle of the bridge of the nose - to the temples, along the eye socket;
  • from the tip of the nose - up the bridge of the nose
  • from the outer corner of the lower eyelid - to the inner corner;
  • from the inner corner of the upper eyelid to the outer.

Lines on the forehead:

  • from the bridge of the nose - along the brow ridges to the temples;
  • from the bridge of the nose, along the center line of the forehead - to the line where hair begins to grow.

Lines on the neck and décolleté:

  • from the center of the chest - top in an arc, along the collarbone area;
  • along the front surface of the neck - up to the chin;
  • along the side surfaces of the neck - to the ear area and to the base of the skull.

Withering and loss of skin elasticity in these three zones is a fairly common phenomenon. This is due to age-related changes in the body and many years of active facial expressions. Women with dry skin are especially susceptible to this state of affairs.

Langer lines are easy to find empirically. You will need a mirror. On a small area of the face, you need to slightly squeeze the skin, first along and then across. The lines are located where the fold is formed.

Massage creams and oils

To massage the neck and décolleté, you need to use products that soften, nourish and moisturize the skin, and protect against wrinkles. You can choose a finished product based on its composition, or you can prepare excellent compositions at home.

Most popular recipes:

  • take equal parts of olive, grape oil and jojoba oil, mix;
  • combine full-fat sour cream with olive oil and egg yolk;
  • add a few drops of sage and calamus essential oils to flaxseed oil;
  • After swelling, heat the soaked gelatin in the microwave and combine with glycerin and honey (1 tsp each).

Massage products are not prepared in advance; a fresh composition must be made before each session.

Contraindications for rejuvenating facial massage

All massage techniques relate to physiotherapeutic procedures, and therefore have a number of contraindications. Massage is not performed when:

  • diseases of the blood and blood vessels, accompanied by increased fragility of capillary walls and poor blood clotting;
  • oncology;
  • warts, moles and papillomas in the area of study;
  • mechanical damage to the skin;
  • allergic or infectious rashes;
  • acute neuritis of the facial nerve;
  • hypertension 3 degrees;
  • sinusitis and acute sinusitis;
  • ENT diseases and viral diseases.

Procedures are prohibited immediately after chemical peeling and facelift surgery. Certain massage techniques (sculptural, etc.) have age restrictions: sessions are prohibited for those under 25 years of age.

Types and technique of execution

Many types of massage are excellent for stimulating the muscles of the décolleté area, maintaining elasticity and smoothness of the skin.

Classical

It is performed using hand manipulations along massage lines, capturing the décolleté and neck area. Using stroking, lightly pressing movements, the sternum is massaged from bottom to top towards the back of the head and chin.

The next stage is gentle, so as not to stretch the skin, circular rubbing of the problem area clockwise and counterclockwise.

Honey

A little honey should be distributed evenly over the décolleté area. Then gently press the skin pointwise with your fingertips and release sharply. Starting from the center of the chest, without missing a single section, move towards the armpits and collarbone. After some time, honey, mixed with sebaceous plugs and dead skin cells, turns into a white film.

At the end of the procedure, remove the film with a damp cloth, and keep the treated area for some time under a warm, dry diaper.

Fiery

Tibetan massage, which smoothes wrinkles and folds, includes the following steps:

  1. A thick terry napkin soaked in an infusion of medicinal herbs and essential oils is applied to the décolleté area.
  2. Several more moistened wipes are placed on top in several layers.
  3. The topmost fabric is additionally treated with alcohol infused with medicinal plants and set on fire.

Active sweating ensures deep penetration of nutrients, protects against wrinkles, and causes a lifting effect.

Vacuum

Vacuum neckline massage

Lubricate the décolleté area with oil or cream, then place the massage jar so that you feel the skin being pulled inward. Without lifting it from the body, the jar is moved from the thymus gland (center of the sternum) according to the following scheme:

  • to the axillary lymph nodes in one and the other direction;
  • to the clavicular lymph nodes up and down.

Thanks to the activation of metabolic processes, the condition of the skin improves significantly.

With herbal bags

Linen bags are filled with a mixture of medicinal herbs (thyme, lavender, lemon balm, sage) mixed with a few drops of essential oil. Then steam them to warm them up to a comfortable temperature and place them on the décolleté and neck area greased with cream, with the addition of olive oil, grape seed oil or jojoba.

After a few minutes, the bags are removed, and chilled napkins soaked in herbal infusion are placed in their place.

These manipulations improve blood flow, saturate the skin with oxygen, making it healthier and more elastic.

Stones

Healing minerals, most often tourmaline and jade, are used to rejuvenate the décolleté area and restore skin turgor. During stone therapy, the stones are preheated and moved with smooth movements along massage lines - from the center of the chest to the armpits, to the collarbones, in a circle.

After the thermal procedure, the manipulations are repeated, but with cooled stones.

Snails

Both Achatina - giant snails and their garden counterparts - are suitable for the procedure. The mucus they secrete nourishes and moisturizes the skin.

The procedure is very simple, you need:

  1. Rinse the décolleté and neck area with water without using any detergents.
  2. Moisten the affected area with milk to activate the snails.
  3. Rinse the snails under running water and place on the sternum.

After 15–20 minutes, they need to be removed, and the neckline and neck should be washed to remove mucus. Finish the procedure by applying nourishing cream to the treated area.

Fishes

Exotic fish massage of the décolleté area with garra rufa fish (carp family) will help not only get rid of wrinkles, but also improve your emotional background. The client is immersed in a pool with swimming fish and given the opportunity to cleanse the skin of dead cells and improve its condition due to the enzymes they produce.

The procedure uses warm water, which softens the skin faster. Session duration is 15–20 minutes.

Hot spoons

Before the procedure, the décolleté area should be lubricated with cream mixed with a few drops of any essential oil or honey. For the massage you will need 4 tablespoons: 2 of them will be heated, and 2 will be cooled. Alternately, you need to apply the devices, with the convex side to the chest, and work out the massage lines with light circular movements. After several repetitions, the last one should be the manipulation of cold spoons.

The main thing in preserving young skin is a systematic approach. In this case, constant uncomplicated procedures using simple and accessible means will give a result that will be noticeable and appreciated not only by you, but also by the people around you.

Drainage effect

Light pressure on the skin in the neck, chin and décolleté improves microcirculation of the lymph accumulated there. When it stagnate in these areas, the neck and lower face swell, causing the skin to stretch and look older. That is why, when massaging the neck, you need to perform elements of lymphatic drainage. In addition to the cosmetic effect, such drainage helps remove waste and toxins that accumulate in the lymph.

Do it according to all the rules!

Before you begin your neck massage , take a shower to remove dirt from your skin and warm it up before the massage. Dry yourself carefully and sit comfortably with your neck and décolleté area open. Secure long strands of hair to prevent them from falling over your shoulders, and remove rings as they can scratch your skin. Take a little massage product and rub it in your palms. This way it warms up from the warmth of your hands and the skin absorbs it better. Perform massage movements only on the sides of the neck and on the chin (in the middle part of the neck there is the esophagus, trachea, and thyroid gland, which should not be pressed). While massaging, try not to stretch the skin; perform all movements very delicately. Massage your neck every day for 5-10 minutes.

Cosmetics for the décolleté area

Massaging the neck on a dry surface stretches the skin and causes wrinkles to appear! Therefore, be sure to use special massage products (for example, jojoba oil - it has a powerful nourishing and moisturizing effect). Creams and masks for the décolleté area - if applied after a massage, have more effects: stroking and patting the skin improves blood circulation, and therefore the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. In this case, cosmetics are better absorbed, cells receive more energy, and their renewal is stimulated.
