Pigment spots are a special condition of the skin in which a fragmentary change in its color is observed.

Most often, pigment spots on the face spread in the form of multiple areas of dark shades, noticeably standing out against the background of the main color of the skin.

As you know, pigments such as melanin, melanoid, carotene, oxyhemoglobin, and reduced hemoglobin are responsible for healthy, normal skin color.

If any pigment is missing, various types of defects may appear on the surface of the skin. Pigment spots on the face and in other areas are not dangerous to health, but they worsen the appearance of the skin.

Today, various techniques are used to treat age spots on the face, ranging from chemical peeling and biorevitalization to the use of lightening masks. Do not remove skin defects yourself!

At the Armida Aesthetic Medicine Center, you will be offered the removal of pigment spots using a special laser - a fast-acting, low-painful procedure.

Laser technology has long been tested in practice by many cosmetologists, it is safe and most effective.

Benefits of the procedure

Laser pigmentation removal involves local exposure to problem areas in order to destroy excess melanin structures. Since the depth and intensity of beam penetration can be adjusted, healthy tissue is not affected and side effects are eliminated. remove pigment spots with a laser in 1-3 sessions - your doctor will tell you more after the examination. The list of contraindications is minimal, there are no age restrictions, so the procedure is in high demand. The average time of exposure to one area of the face or body is 5-15 minutes. Laser pigmentation can be removed quickly, painlessly, with a minimal rehabilitation period - which is why the procedure is in high demand. The effectiveness is high, but if the appearance of spots was caused by problems in the functioning of internal organs (usually the liver), an integrated approach, namely local laser removal of pigmentation on the face and treatment of systemic diseases).

How to remove age spots on hands

Age spots that appear on the skin of the hands are often called “solar lentigo” or “senile pigmentation.” And this despite the fact that changes are often observed in relatively young people who cannot even imagine that their lives are “nearing decline.” Noticeable heterogeneity in the color of the skin, which does not add attractiveness to a person, can be eliminated in St. Petersburg or Moscow during the laser removal procedure for age spots on the hands at the Delete clinic.

What is age-related pigmentation?

Solar lentigo appears as numerous brown spots on the skin of varying sizes, shapes and shades. They can appear in people of any age. The older the person, the higher the risk of developing a cosmetic defect: in people with fair skin under the age of 35, the incidence of solar lentigo is only 20%, while in 60-year-olds this figure rises to 90%.

At the beginning, the diameter of pigment spots does not exceed 5 mm. Gradually their size increases until the individual spots merge with each other. Their color becomes more and more saturated. As hyperpigmentation develops, the skin loses turgor and elasticity and becomes dry. In general, the appearance of the skin with solar lentigo is much worse than it should be for a person at this age.

More often than others, people with Fitzpatrick skin phototypes I and II have to think about removing age spots on their hands. In simple terms, these are those people whose fair skin does not tan well and quickly burns in the sun.

The mechanism of formation of solar lentigo

In order to understand how best to remove age spots on the face or hands, let’s first look at the mechanism of their formation. The appearance of pigmentation on open areas of the body, be it the arms, face, neck, back or décolleté, is determined not by a person’s biological age, but by the intensity and duration of exposure to ultraviolet radiation. In fact, this is an external manifestation of a protective reaction that develops in tissues in response to damage. For example, in professional drivers, age spots often appear only on the left hand.

Normally, a tan appears in response to solar insolation or exposure to solarium lamps. The uniform production of melanin by melanocytes changes the shade and increases the protective properties of the skin. Some time after the cessation of the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays, the synthesized melanin is destroyed and removed from the tissues.

In the foci of solar lentigo, the number of melanocytes that actively synthesize melanin and melanophages, cells of the immune system that have absorbed pigment molecules and turned dark, increases. Simultaneously with the stimulation of melanogenesis, other changes develop:

  • an increase in the number of layers of epidermal cells, which leads to its thickening and roughening of the skin;
  • the appearance of areas of accumulation of atypical elastin, the molecules of which have been damaged by ultraviolet rays, which makes the skin uneven;
  • persistent dilatation of superficial vessels with the formation of telangiectasia (spider veins and spider veins);
  • the formation of skin creases (wrinkles) as a result of damage to collagen molecules.

All these changes may have varying degrees of severity in different people, but are present in one way or another in each of the patients with solar lentigo. In this regard, removing pigmentation on the hands always requires a complex treatment that will effectively eliminate all manifestations of photoaging.

How to remove age spots on hands?

Most often, dermatologists recommend their patients use ointments with arbutin, mequinol, trichloroacetic acid or retinoids. In order to achieve significant lightening of pigmentation, it is necessary to apply the preparations daily for 8-10 weeks. The effect of treatment is unstable. 2-3 months after the end of the course, the spots begin to darken again.

You can remove age spots on your hands using cryotherapy and some hardware cosmetology techniques. However, even here the effect is not persistent enough. An obvious disadvantage is that the effect is only on melanin accumulations, while other skin changes caused by photoaging are not eliminated.

Removing pigment spots on the hands with a laser allows you to significantly improve the condition of the skin in several ways in one procedure:

  • the color of the skin becomes uniform;
  • the elasticity and tone of the skin increases due to the activation of neocollagenesis;
  • the skin's hydrobalance is normalized by stimulating the synthetic activity of fibroblasts (it is these cells in the tissues that are responsible for the production of sufficient amounts of hyaluronic acid).

During one procedure, you can remove age spots on the hands, moles, scars and other aesthetic skin imperfections.

How is the procedure carried out at the Delete clinic?

The “gold standard” for removing age-related hyperpigmentation is the alexandrite laser with a wavelength of 755 nm. Specialists at the Delit laser cosmetology center use the PicoSure alexandrite laser with a picosecond light pulse duration in their work.

Why is it important? The fact is that the shorter the exposure to the laser flash, the less tissue heating. The absence of thermal damage to the epidermis and dermis when working with the PicoSure device allows you to remove age spots on the hands, eliminates the likelihood of developing inflammation, and then post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation of the skin at the site of laser exposure. Thus, while maintaining the high efficiency of laser exposure, the likelihood of developing complications is reduced to almost zero.

The procedures are carried out with a frequency of 1 session every 2-4 weeks. The laser therapist determines the number and frequency of visits individually, taking into account skin type, severity of age-related changes, and individual tissue reaction to laser exposure.

Recommendations for skin care after the procedure

Laser exposure can destroy already formed foci of pathological or “age-related” pigmentation, but does not affect the mechanism that ensures the appearance of new such foci. In this regard, it is important not only to remove pigment spots on the hands, but also to provide sufficient skin protection from ultraviolet radiation in order to prevent the recurrence of solar lentigo. To do this you need:

  • Choose suitable clothes. It is better to give preference to clothing that will cover areas of the skin where solar lentigo appeared at one time. If we are talking about hands, then these are shirts, thin sweaters with long sleeves, gloves.
  • Use sunscreen. Creams and lotions with photo filters can protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation and prevent the reappearance of age spots on the hands and other exposed areas of the body.

Age spots on the hands are a cosmetic imperfection that can reveal a woman’s real age and even “add” years to her despite all the efforts to care for her face and figure. Fortunately, removing senile pigmentation is now not difficult. In our Delete clinic this can be done at an affordable price and with a guarantee of results.

Equipment

Laser removal of age spots on the face at GMTCLINIC is carried out using professional equipment - laser or photo technology. The procedure is painless, cells containing the melanin pigment absorb the rays, after which the epidermis in the treatment area begins to collapse and peel off, being replaced by healthy structures. In our work we use:

  • alexandrite device Candela, neodymium Quanta System Duetto;
  • photo technologies Elos, M22 and Sciton;
  • laser resurfacing for problem skin using MultiPulse CO2, Dermablate MCL-31, Fraxel and Sciton.

Elos targets cells with a high content of melanin; the depth of penetration of the beam in this case will be higher. which laser is best for removing pigmentation during a face-to-face consultation. Each device has its own features and advantages that are taken into account when choosing.

PicoSure laser

PicoSure is a picosecond laser device from the American company CynoSure. It impacts a target with a picosecond wave, breaking it into microparticles. Pulsed charges under the skin have the effect of burning out pigmented areas of the skin, after which the body itself removes them out. The laser beam is very precise and gentle, so it does not affect nearby tissues or injure the skin.

Laser therapy itself does not involve severe pain, but sometimes patients feel mild discomfort in the form of burning or tingling. To do this, the doctor treats the desired areas with a cooling gel. The duration of the course of laser therapy depends on what problem the patient wants to eliminate, its scale and neglect. PicoSure is used to remove ink from tattoos of any complexity and age. After laser therapy, doctors prohibit sun exposure, going to the solarium or to the sea. It is better to do the procedures in the autumn-winter period.

Preparation for the procedure, rehabilitation, contraindications

The laser for pigmentation helps very well, but in order for the procedure to give maximum results without side effects, you need to properly prepare for it. 2-4 weeks before the procedure, avoid visiting beaches, baths, solariums, and swimming pools; maintain the same pause after laser exposure. There are restrictions on taking ibuprofen, aspirin and derivatives - they are removed a month before laser treatment, retinoids and drugs based on them are removed 3 months before. Contraindications are standard for all cosmetic interventions - oncology, severe pathologies of blood vessels, heart, blood, internal organs, diabetes. In case of exacerbation of chronic diseases, the procedure is not performed; it is also not recommended during lactation or pregnancy. We draw your attention to the fact that these contraindications are relative - if you have any doubts, contact a clinic specialist, and he will tell you for sure whether the procedure can be done specifically in your case. Do not treat skin with laser if there are wounds or rashes in the treatment area.

Contraindications

Like any cosmetic or medical procedure, biorevitalization with hyaluronic acid also has contraindications:

  • herpes in acute form;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • tendency to form keloid scars;
  • allergy;
  • skin diseases;
  • simultaneous use of blood thinning drugs.

Biorevitalization of the face is an excellent way to combat skin imperfections and the first signs of aging, which is definitely worth thinking about in a timely manner.

Reasons for the formation of age spots on the face

The appearance of brown spots on the face is associated with excessive production of melanin, a pigment that creates a protective barrier against ultraviolet radiation. A similar phenomenon is observed when the body suffers from any disease or exposure to external factors.

The appearance of pigment formations is influenced by:

  • abuse of exposure to direct sunlight;
  • lack of vitamins in the body;
  • diseases of the endocrine system;
  • hormonal disruptions, changes in the body;
  • liver and kidney diseases;
  • age-related diseases;
  • oncological processes;
  • exposure to harmful toxic substances;
  • pathological processes in the gastrointestinal tract.

To identify the cause of hyperpigmentation, a person needs to consult a doctor.

Rehabilitation period

A distinctive feature of Fotona is the absence of a recovery period in the traditional sense. The skin will not peel off, no dense dark crust will threaten you. You should also follow your doctor's advice:

  1. After the procedure, slight swelling is possible. It will go away within 24-48 hours.
  2. Within a week, the skin in areas treated with the laser may become crusty. They cannot be torn off - the skin must be completely renewed without intervention.
  3. In the first two weeks after the procedure, you should not go to the pool, solarium, or bathhouse. When going out in the sun, use creams with

The effectiveness of injections into age spots

The effect of the drug on whitening age spots is achieved by introducing it under the protective layer of the skin, thus, the effect on the cell structure occurs from the inside. Under the influence of the injection cocktail, nerve endings and biological points are stimulated. The effectiveness is directly proportional to the amount of the injected drug. A large amount implies a longer stay of substances in the dermis. The effect depends on the number of procedures and the type of injection cocktail. The skin is maximally lightened due to the presence of vitamin C in the composition. The course, composition and dosage are calculated individually, taking into account the patient’s age, the presence of chronic diseases and the goals of the course. Whitening injections have a temporary result, therefore, after the patient has completed a course of manipulations, it is worth conducting sessions for prevention.
