Expression wrinkles on the forehead have recently begun to bother people aged 25 years, or even earlier. They spoil the appearance and give away a person’s age. Sometimes facial wrinkles even visually add several years to the face. We don’t notice how actively we gesture with our faces in conversations or arguments, and at this time more and more new folds are brewing on our faces.
There are many reasons for the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead:
- Aging of the body. This is the most common cause of facial wrinkles on the forehead. Facial muscles lose their elasticity, their fibers weaken. As a result, facial skin becomes darker and wrinkles become more noticeable.
- Facial expressions that have become a habit. If you constantly frown or raise your eyebrows, then wrinkles may appear on you ahead of time.
- Smoking abuse.
- Constant stress, depression, emotional tension, nervous stress and overwork.
- Lack of sleep.
- Very active physical activity in large volumes, not gymnastics.
- Constant exposure to the sun. Everyone knows that ultraviolet radiation, including solar radiation, accelerates the aging process of the skin.
- Poor living conditions.
- Poor ecology in the place of residence.
- Constant use of decorative cosmetics.
- Insufficient face building or too intensive facial skin care.
- Hereditary predisposition.
Wrinkles on the forehead can be vertical or horizontal. Horizontal ones look like folds along the forehead. They occur when the eyebrows are raised frequently. Vertical wrinkles are most often visible between the eyebrows, and they appear if you have a habit of frowning.
Today there are many ways to fight against facial wrinkles.
Many manufacturers offer special products, various injections, cosmetic procedures and other activities. They all cost a certain amount of money.
If you don’t want to spend your money, then explore other ways to fight wrinkles: yoga, face-building, facial gymnastics.
Lifting the corners of the lips, neck and chin

Sit exactly on the edge of the chair, back straight, pull your head up by the crown. Place one palm on the front of your neck. Don't push! Lightly pull the skin down until there is slight resistance, literally 3 mm. Smile. Pull your tongue up. Use your other hand to secure the folds around your lips. Then lean back a little and rock back and forth (like on a rocking chair) 20 times. The amplitude is small - 20–30 degrees.
Features of the technique
In addition to the peculiarities of muscle attachment, the unique nutrition of facial muscles is taken into account. Dependence on the blood supply to the muscles is increased. The muscles are abundantly “entangled” with nerve endings. This greatly enhances any effect achieved by toning muscle tissue.
As a result of performing facial gymnastics, all facial muscles are activated. Relaxed muscles receive energy and nutrition. In muscles that have reached activity, internal processes accelerate. Trained muscles support the skin better and prevent sagging.
Gymnastics exercises are aimed specifically at the movement of facial muscles. Regular maintenance of tone helps:
- completely get rid of small wrinkles;
- significantly reduce the size of deep ones;
- smooth out folds and creases;
- give the skin a fresh, healthy look.
Note! Gymnastics, taken as a daily rule, can get rid of large wrinkles, preventing them from forming for a long time. Regular warm-up done in the morning charges you with energy and positivity. Exercising before bed relieves daytime stress, helps you unwind and prepare for a night's rest.
For lifting the corners of the lips

Take the corners of your lips with two fingers and lightly (literally 1–2 mm) pull them to the center.
After this, pull the corners of your lips with your muscles towards your earlobes, and apply resistance with your hands. Do the exercise statically. That is, at the moment when you pull the corners of your lips to the center with your hands, try to stretch the corners of your lips in a smile towards your earlobes. Perform the exercise for 10–20 seconds. Make sure that folds and wrinkles do not form on your face.
Tibetan complex
Tibetan women take care of their faces based on the principles of traditional medicine, based on the regulation of the movement of internal juices of the human body and energy flows.
To perform Tibetan gymnastics, you need to stand on your feet, straighten up, rushing your whole body upward. It is important to tune in to achieve a state of harmony and peace. All manipulations require 8-fold repetition due to the special positive power assigned to this number - a symbol of infinity and prosperity.
Exercises:
- First you need to warm up your palms and charge them with positive energy. Connect them, bring them to your forehead, then separate them and cover your closed eyelids with them, pressing them. Without removing your hands, rotate your eyes clockwise and counterclockwise, moving them along a vertical line.
- Grab your eyebrows in the middle. They should be raised, lowered, pulled in one direction, then in the opposite direction.
- Using your thumbs, smooth the skin from the crow's feet to the temples.
- Warm up your hands, smooth the skin from the cheekbones to the chin.
- Fold your palms into a “bucket” - as if you are going to scoop up water and cover your face with them from the bridge of your nose to your chin. Open your mouth wide, show your tongue, rotate it, touch the upper and lower teeth.
- The hands are there. Pull your lips alternately in different directions. Pursing your lips tightly, simulate swallowing. This must be done 3 times.
- Perform a light tapping massage over the entire face.
- Massage your head from the forehead to the back of the head, as if combing.

Try to smile towards your temples, while looking in the mirror so that you don’t squint, your chin and neck don’t work.
Curl your lips behind your teeth. Smile slowly with your zygomatic muscles toward your temples 20–30 times. Using your hands, gently smooth out any wrinkles and folds around your mouth and eyes.
This exercise may not work out right away if you have developed the habit of tensing your lips when smiling and lowering the corners of your lips.

Wrap your lips behind your teeth and take a light teaspoon into your lips. Smile slowly with your zygomatic muscles toward your temples 20–30 times. Try to keep the corners of your lips up diagonally towards your temples, rather than spreading out to the sides. Using your hands, gently smooth out all the wrinkles and folds around your mouth.
When performing cheekbone lifting exercises, make sure that you do not strain the muscles of the front of your neck, chin, and chewing muscles.
Causes of forehead wrinkles
The frontalis muscle is located above the forehead, it raises the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose. It also pulls the scalp forward, forming transverse and longitudinal folds. The facial muscle structure is closely related to the human integument. When the supracranial fibers move, the skin in the forehead area stretches.
Wrinkles can form for two reasons. Active facial expressions cause eyebrows to rise or frown on the bridge of the nose. Aging processes lead to a decrease in the amount of collagen. After relaxation, the epidermis does not smooth out completely, muscle fibers lose elasticity, and creases form.
As the muscle tone of the forehead decreases, the eyebrows and oval begin to droop. Drooping eyelids, jowls, and a double chin appear. Therefore, face-building for the forehead is of great importance in anti-aging programs.
Reasons for the formation of frontal wrinkles:
- age-related changes;
- increased emotionality;
- stress;
- smoking, alcohol;
- violation of work and rest schedules;
- sudden weight fluctuations;
- unfavorable environmental conditions;
- lack or improper skin care;
- deficiency of vitamins, minerals;
- pathologies of the endocrine system.
Attention! Creases can occur due to incorrect selection of glasses or lenses. Weather conditions also have an impact - gusty winds, scorching sun, snow. It is impossible to eliminate all provoking factors, but by increasing the elasticity of the fibers, it will be possible to smooth out wrinkles.

Connect your wrists together (as in the photo).
Fix your lips, cheeks and chin. Rhythmically inflate and deflate your cheeks, while inflating, simultaneously pressing on them with your palms. Make sure that there are no wrinkles or folds in the area of the nasolabial triangle and around the eyes. Wrists pressed to lips. Repeat 20 times. Then puff out your cheeks and stay in this position for 10 seconds in a static position. Be careful not to strain the back of your neck or the back of your head. To do this, do not press too hard with your hands. After performing the exercise, relax your face, do a light kneading and lightly pat your cheeks with your fingers.
Facebuilding method from professional trainers and celebrities
Facelifting for the face, the most effective procedures of which can be carried out through surgical operations or cosmetic procedures, and facebuilding are not the same thing.
Face building is a kind of cosmetological fitness: a set of exercises aimed at developing facial muscles, combined with massage procedures. Maybe that’s why the author of one of the most popular methods for prolonging youth without contouring was former fitness trainer Evgenia Baglyk.
Complex of Evgenia Baglyk
The main idea of Evgenia Balyk’s rejuvenating set of exercises is that the facial muscles can be trained no worse than the body muscles. Regular exercises with a properly selected load help increase the volume of the facial muscles and prevent sagging skin.
Facelift for face
Before starting to compile the program, Evgenia carefully studied the structure of each facial muscle and analyzed the features of their interaction during active facial expressions. Having completed many trainings and highlighting the best of the world's most popular face-building practices, she began to compile her own set of exercises.
Each movement in the exercises is designed taking into account the functionality and structure of the muscle being worked.
Gymnastics for the face according to the method of Evgenia Balyk has no age restrictions, but she promotes an individual approach, depending on the needs of the client. She has preventive, rejuvenating and deficiencies-correcting exercises. It is recommended to start classes with a trainer who will help you follow the program and tell you in detail how to perform the exercises correctly.
Galina Dubinina complex
Galina Dubinina's technique is a symbiosis of advanced exercises, according to the system of American cosmetologist Carol Maggio and the recommendations of one of the best plastic surgeons, Reinhold Benz. Its complex consists of elements of face-building, yoga, bodyflex and other progressive practices aimed at improving the general condition of the body.
Galina Dubinina’s full comprehensive program includes:
- massage of bioactive points;
- treatment of problem areas of the neck and face;
- gymnastics for the eyes;
- bodyflex and breathing exercises.
The combination of various practices constitutes a single system, so the exclusion of any exercise included in the complex will negatively affect the overall result. If there is not enough time for a full program of classes, it is recommended to focus only on face-building.
Carol Maggio Complex
Facelifting for the face, the most effective exercises for which were developed by American cosmetologist Carol Maggio, is gaining more and more followers in Russia. Its concept is based on the connection between internal energy and the physical state of a person.
According to Carol, training will provide the expected result only if the exercise is fueled by positive emotions and energy flows aimed at achieving the goal.
To get the effect, you should perform the exercises taking into account the recommendations of the author of the technique:
- to check the correctness of the exercise, you must perform it standing in front of a mirror;
- correct body position: back straight, stomach tucked, muscles of the thighs and buttocks slightly tense;
- you need to tune in to the exercise, concentrate on the accuracy of the movements, feel every muscle involved;
- Each exercise must be completed by completely relaxing the muscles of the face and body. Then press your lips tightly and try to forcefully draw in air, feeling their vibration and tension;
- After completing classes, you can do a light facial massage.
The complex from Carol Maggio contains 13 exercises. She constantly refines and improves her methodology. At 70 years old, a woman looks at most 50, which clearly proves the effectiveness of a facelift.
Complex of Anastasia Burdyug
Anastasia Burdyug is one of Carol Maggio’s followers. She was certified by the author of the method and based on it created her own project called “Super Face”. The complex consists of 13 exercises aimed at maintaining and increasing the tone of all facial muscles.
The main condition for achieving results is to consistently perform all exercises in the recommended order at least 2 times a day: morning and evening.

Benefits of facial exercises
An ideal oval shape, an even, smooth skin structure; similar results can be achieved without regularly visiting a cosmetologist. Effective gymnastics will strengthen muscle fibers, restore oxygen breathing, and cell regeneration. After 25 years, the synthesis of collagen and elastin decreases.
The gradual reduction of important elements leads to loss of elasticity. Creams, fluids, serums act only in the upper layers of the skin. You can activate the rejuvenation processes yourself by mastering the basics of face building.
Training results:
- wrinkles are smoothed out;
- swelling and flabbiness disappear;
- a beautiful oval face is formed;
- cheekbones take on clear outlines;
- correction of facial features, general harmonization;
- lifting bulldog cheeks, jowls;
- skin color and structure improves.
Thanks to the activation of blood circulation during facial gymnastics, cells receive nutrients and oxygen in large volumes. Fragile capillaries are strengthened, which avoids problems such as rosacea. The face literally transforms.
Note! By normalizing internal processes, you can even cope with acne and enlarged pores.
