How to eliminate lipoma on the face: a review of home remedies

What is a wen

A fatty tissue, or lipoma as it is also called, is an accumulation of fatty tissue under the skin. This is a benign, painless neoplasm that a person may not notice immediately, but only when it has already reached an impressive size.

It affects both women and men, with the only difference being that in women wen most often appears on the body, and in men on the face. In most cases, lipomas appear under the skin, but they can also be in the skin and inside organs.

Subcutaneous lipoma is characterized by slow growth, which is why it may not be noticed immediately, and a long period of painlessness, i.e. a person may not notice a tumor on the body until it reaches 10 mm and begins to cause discomfort, having a negative impact on organs and tissues nearby.

The mechanism of appearance of small white wen on the face

Disturbances in the hormonal system and metabolism lead to excessive synthesis of lipocytes. Cells are grouped into small islands. The sizes of the formations vary between 0.3 -3 cm. The shape is round. The color is white and looks like a pimple or acne.

Reasons for the appearance of white wen:

  • metabolic imbalance;
  • impaired immunity;
  • hereditary predisposition;
  • incorrectly selected diet;
  • diseases of the nervous system;
  • problems with the urinary system;
  • disturbances in hormone production;
  • pathology of the liver and pancreas.

Lipomas on the face are 3-4 times more common in women. Especially in the age period of 30–50 years. Among the provocateurs are skin damage, drinking alcohol, and smoking.

Causes

The main reason why this disease occurs is disturbances in the functioning of the sebaceous glands, as well as heredity. Experts note the connection between the occurrence of this problem and the use of cosmetics that are not suitable for the skin type, i.e. is not selected taking into account individual characteristics, but is bought at random.

Using some oils, such as flaxseed or coconut oil, on your skin can clog your pores, which increases your risk of developing small bumps on your face. If the reason is not cosmetics or improper care, then you need to look for it inside.

Diseases such as:

  • diabetes;
  • weak immunity;
  • lack of protein and vitamins;
  • bad habits such as smoking;
  • age after 40 years;
  • ionizing radiation.

How to get rid of wen on your face - recipes

How to clean your face at home from wen?

  • To get rid of the tumor, you first need to thoroughly cleanse your facial skin. In this case, you need to get rid of cosmetics and the stratum corneum (you can use crab).
  • Then boil some water in a saucepan and, bending your head over it, cover yourself with a towel to steam your face. Stay in this position for 10-15 minutes, after covering yourself with a towel. If your skin is dry, you can use herbal infusions (from wormwood, rosemary and millennial) for the procedure; if you are prone to oily skin, then decoctions of horsetail or chamomile are ideal.
  • Next, wet the skin with a towel and begin mechanical cleaning. Pre-wipe the tumor removal site with salicylic acid. Then remove the lipoma using light pressure.
  • After the procedure, you need to lubricate your face with a rich cream or make a mask, the recipe for which is given below:

Take 1 chicken egg, add ½ teaspoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese. Apply the mask for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. The procedure will shrink pores and tone the skin.

Is it possible to squeeze out a wen?

Doctors do not recommend squeezing out wen on your face yourself. But they can tell you how to get rid of them at home.

If you squeeze out on your own, there is a high risk of infection and relapse.

When you try to get rid of the problem at home, the skin is injured, which can cause a scar to appear and/or infection, then the formation will already be filled with purulent contents, and the affected area will become inflamed. In addition, it is unlikely that you will be able to completely get rid of this problem on your own, since removing the capsule in which the contents accumulate is not easy.

Squeeze out the wen

When you need to squeeze out a wen at home, then it is better to worry about all the necessary items in advance. However, you need to understand that after this procedure a scar may remain on the face, which is formed in case of improper extrusion.

In addition, milia can only be removed by squeezing out, since xanthelasmas cannot be squeezed out due to their deep location in the skin.

To squeeze out a lipoma, you must adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. First, you should thoroughly disinfect your hands and treat all tools with alcohol.
  2. Then you need to wipe the area with the wen with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
  3. Afterwards, you need to take the needle from the syringe and carefully puncture the lipoma.
  4. Then it is recommended to squeeze out the capsule with fat using gentle pressure using sterile disks.
  5. Finally, be sure to treat the wound and use a bandage.

It is believed that after squeezing out the wen in its place, the wound may remain red for about a day. If the abscess remains inflamed for more than 24 hours, you should seek the help of a specialist.

Traditional methods

Folk remedies against wen work only if they are small, and also if, under the influence of the folk method, the skin ruptures.

But, despite their low efficiency, they are popular among the population. Therefore, you can resort to one of the following methods:

  • Burdock root tincture . To create the product, you need to grind the root of this plant and add vodka. You need to wipe your skin with this medicine at least twice a day.
  • Egg mask . To prepare the mask, you need to beat one egg and add a pinch of pepper. The skin will turn red and dry after such a mask. Soon the skin peels off and then cracks, and the capsule comes out on its own. Carefully! This method is contraindicated for people with sensitive skin.
  • Onion mask . You can take both baked and raw vegetables. It should be crushed in a blender, and then the mixture should be applied to the lipoma. You should not keep this product on your face for a long time, as it may cause a burn.
  • In some cases, a mask with sprouted wheat grains, which are added to melted lamb fat, . It is believed that after a week of using the prepared mask, the skin around the wen will soften, making the lipoma capsule easier to squeeze out.

Can a wen resolve?

Cases of lipomas resolving on their own are quite rare. In medical practice, there were such cases, but only in those patients whose tumor size was insignificant, or in the case where the person did not have any pathological diseases that could provoke the growth of fat cells.

As for large formations, they can only be gotten rid of surgically.

And those that reach medium size (up to 5 cm in diameter) are observed and periodically examined.

Ointments for wen - how effective is the treatment?

The use of various ointments to treat fatty growths is quite a popular type of treatment. The effectiveness of such therapy directly depends on the degree of the disease and the individual characteristics of the body. Therefore, it is advisable to talk about timely referral of the patient to a medical institution to make a correct diagnosis.

The effectiveness of various drugs for eliminating wen is noted when they are used in the early stages of the disease, when the growth has not yet acquired a pathological character. In cases of widespread growth, with lesions of muscle tissue, bones or formation in the peritoneum, the only treatment method is to remove it surgically.

To determine whether treatment is effective, it is necessary to consider all the obvious advantages and disadvantages of this method. The positive qualities of therapy are:

  • ease of use of drugs;
  • relatively low cost of funds;
  • no interference with the integrity of the skin;
  • the ability to carry out treatment at home, at a convenient time;
  • no scars after treatment.

Despite the significant advantages of conservative therapy, the method has disadvantages. Firstly, you should remember the duration of the procedure. If surgery solves the problem in a few days, then applying creams requires patience. Sometimes treatment lasts several months. Secondly, it is necessary to take into account the fact of the possible degeneration of a lipoma into a malignant tumor. Only in a clinical setting can this phenomenon be confirmed or refuted. It is also worth mentioning the risk of an allergic reaction, which often occurs from treatment with ointments.

How to remove wen at home

If you decide to act independently, then you need to follow the rules to avoid undesirable consequences:

  1. Before you begin, you need to thoroughly clean your hands, tools and surrounding skin.
  2. It is better to make the hole with a special surgical needle - this way there is less chance of serious injury to the skin.
  3. If unpleasant sensations appear when touching the tumor, the operated area should be treated with Lidocaine.
  4. To remove the capsule, you need to make a small incision.
  5. Next, the wound is treated with alcohol and, if necessary, sealed.

Folk remedies for oral administration

To enhance the effect in the treatment of wen, you can use herbal preparations internally:

  1. Burdock root : 300 g of crushed root is poured into 0.5 liters of 70% ethyl alcohol and infused for a month, shaking occasionally. Afterwards the infusion is filtered. Take 20 minutes before. before meals 2 times a day
  1. Kalina: 1 kg of berries is mixed with 1 liter of May honey and ground well. 500 ml of cognac is added to the mixture. Let it brew for a month in a dark place, shaking occasionally. Take 1 tbsp with meals. l. 3 r. in a day.

  1. Cinnamon : 1 tbsp. l. crushed cinnamon is diluted in warm water, milk or kefir and taken 1 r. in a day.

How to remove a large wen

Large wen on the face (and other parts of the body), since it is impossible to get rid of them at home, are removed through surgery. During the operation, the capsule with its contents is removed. The risk of relapse in this case is very low.

You can get rid of them in other ways:

  1. Laser. During the operation, a small thin incision is made and the capsule is exposed to the laser. The surrounding tissues are not affected. After the surface of the lipoma has been treated with a laser, the doctor makes an incision, removes the contents and thermocoagulates the vessels, after which he applies two sutures and a bandage.
  2. Liposuction (used for small cones). The procedure involves suctioning out the contents through a puncture using a needle and electric suction.

  3. Radiomagnetic radiation (used to remove surface liposomes). The method is less traumatic for the skin and leaves no marks.
  4. Radio wave radiation (“Surgiton”). After the procedure, a crust remains on the skin, which quickly disappears.

  5. Electrocoagulation is the removal of a wen by applying an electric current to it. After the procedure, a crust forms, which falls off after a few days, leaving behind a pink spot, which also, over time, passes without leaving a trace.

Applications

Application is a method that uses a sterile gauze pad or cotton swab. Well soaked in the drug, they are applied directly to the affected areas of the skin. The procedure is carried out several times daily for 5-20 minutes.

The most common types are:

With black pepper.With butter and vodka.
Ground black pepper is poured onto a cloth soaked in alcohol. The lotion is applied to the skin for 15-20 minutes. The procedure is carried out 2 times. In a day. The course is 3 weeks. Sunflower oil and alcohol (vodka) are mixed in an amount of 40 g; a cotton swab, well soaked in the mixture, is applied to the wen, covered with cling film, a piece of warm cloth and left overnight. Treatment continues until the lipoma disappears completely.

Medicinal ointments

In the early stages, when the wen on the face is still small, you can get rid of it at home, by using such remedies as decoctions, masks and compresses. It is possible to use alcohol tinctures, for example salicylic alcohol, as well as iodine (apply pointwise). But you need to remember that if the problem concerns the eyelid or eye, then these products are prohibited from being used.

It is also impossible to squeeze out lipomas in these places, as you may lose your vision. You can get rid of tumors in the facial area using various ointments.

Vishnevsky ointment

It contains castor oil (base), tar and xeroform. A small amount of ointment is squeezed onto a medium-sized piece of gauze and applied to the affected area for 12 hours.

The procedure is carried out for 3 days, rest for 2 days. The result is that the contents are pulled out. Moreover, this remedy helps not only in the initial stages, but also when the disease is already advanced.

Vitaon

This product contains:

  • thyme;
  • chamomile;
  • mint;
  • fennel;
  • celandine;
  • sagebrush.

This tandem of medicinal herbs is an excellent alternative to Vishnevsky ointment. The product has no contraindications. Effectively draws out the contents without leaving scars or marks on the skin.

Ichthyol ointment and Levomekol

They also have the property of drawing the contents of the capsule to the surface.

Badyaga

It can be used as an independent product or as part of various ointments and balms. Has a healing, anti-inflammatory effect. Due to its healing properties, it is used as a prophylaxis for a large number of diseases, as well as after surgical operations. This product is made from animal ingredients.

Has a warming effect. When used in the head area, you should be extremely careful, since one of the side effects is hyperthermia. In addition, experts advise using medications such as Happyderm, Levosin and Actovegin to treat wen.

How to make a cream based on pharmaceutical ointments

At home, you can make a cream based on ointments sold in pharmacies. To do this, you need to take Vishnevsky and Ichthyol ointment in equal quantities. Mix well and add a few drops of aloe juice. Apply several times a day until the lipoma comes out.

Ointment for wen: homemade and pharmacy ointments, compositions, instructions for use and results

In this article we will look at which ointment for wen is the most effective.
The appearance of a lipoma on the body is very unpleasant, and almost every person wants to get rid of such an unaesthetic formation.

This unattractive bulge can be found on any area of the body, but the biggest problem is when it is located on the face or in areas that cannot be hidden with clothing.

In general, it is better to remove fat from a cosmetologist, dermatologist or surgeon, but in some situations you can try to get rid of such a delicate problem yourself.

You can try to remove a lipoma yourself only when it is small in size (maximum one centimeter) and located close to the skin surface. This article will talk about several safe methods for getting rid of tumors at home. If the wen is located deep and large in size, you need to seek help from a doctor.

We will tell you below how to choose an ointment for wen.

How not to remove lipomas at home?

People sometimes try to get rid of a wen by prying it with a needle. But it is not always possible to carry out just such a manipulation, since the wen tissue may be tightly attached to the epidermis or not sufficiently mature. Deepening the puncture or attempting to squeeze it out with your fingers creates a risk of infection, leading to worsening of the disorder and suppuration.

In addition to these complications, such an attempt to eliminate the wen is always accompanied by bleeding from the wounds and pain.

The same negative consequences can occur after squeezing lipomas with nails.

Methods for eliminating wen with pharmaceutical ointments at home

To get rid of wen at home, you can use various local pharmaceutical products. The principle of their influence is based on improving material metabolism, blood circulation and tissue softening.

Most of these products can be used to remove wen on the body and face, but when using them, you must avoid contact with the mucous membranes (genitals, nose, mouth and eyes).

Before using ointment for wen, you must make sure that there is no hypersensitivity to its composition.

Such ingredients provide blood flow to the lipoma, a drying and antimicrobial effect. As a result, the tissues of the wen gradually dissolve and come out.

Vishnevsky ointment is applied to the area of the lipoma, covered with gauze, and secured with an adhesive plaster. It is necessary to change the bandage as the drug dries. The number of procedures is determined individually - the wen usually resolves after three to four days.

This remedy can be used to treat adults and children. During breastfeeding or pregnancy, you should talk to your doctor about the possibility of using Vishnevsky ointment. In addition, before use, you must read all the contraindications in the instructions.

It should be noted that Vishnevsky’s ointment contains birch tar, which increases the skin’s sensitivity to ultraviolet rays. That is why it is not recommended to use this drug on open areas of the body in the spring and summer.

Badyagi-based products can be used to treat adults (including pregnant women and nursing mothers) and children. Such drugs should not be applied to the heart or chest area, nor should they be used for damaged skin.

Homemade ointments

You can also prepare ointments at home.

Below are some recipes:

  • Ointment made from laundry soap and baked onions. Peel a small onion and then bake in the oven. Then pass through a meat grinder, combine with one tablespoon of laundry soap, crushed on a fine grater. The resulting ointment is applied in the form of a compress twice a day. The duration of use is determined for each person separately.
  • Ointment made from honey and horse chestnut fruits. Wash five chestnuts, peel and chop in a blender. The finished mass is mixed with a tablespoon of honey. You can also add aloe leaves, crushed to a homogeneous consistency. The finished ointment in the form of a compress is applied three times a day or applied to the wen on the face in a thick layer. The duration of treatment is also determined individually.
  • Ointment for wen made from garlic and lard. Garlic and lard are crushed in a blender in a ratio of 1:2. Apply the ointment to the lipoma area two to three times a day. Treatment should be continued as long as needed in each case.

Rules for using ointments

Before using conservative therapy in the form of ointments, you need to read their instructions for use. When making your own product, you need to study all the ingredients used in the composition.

You can treat the neoplasm yourself after medical consultation. Before using the ointment for wen on the face and body, you need to cleanse the skin.

It is advisable to do the procedure in the morning, so that in the event of an allergic reaction you have additional time for the necessary actions.

During the fight against lipomas, you should stop using various types of cosmetics. You cannot use several drugs at the same time, as there is a possibility of incompatibility of ingredients, which will lead to negative consequences.

Reviews of ointments for wen

At home, getting rid of wen can be effective in some cases. This is evidenced by patient reviews. Ointments for lipomas can act only in the early stages of their formation. If lipomatous nodes have grown and put pressure on joints, muscles or blood vessels, it will not be possible to get rid of them without surgery.

First, you should definitely establish that the tumor under the skin is benign. To do this, you need to consult a doctor.

An allergic reaction should be excluded, as it is often observed in patients if they do not carefully read the instructions or use ingredients for homemade ointments that are not tolerated by the body. Lipomatosis cannot be treated by using different external medications at the same time.

When deciding to use local remedies to remove a wen, you need to be prepared for a long treatment course.

However, patients consider surgery by a surgeon to be the most effective when the lipoma is removed along with the capsule.

    You can try to get rid of a wen on the face using conservative means if it has not reached a medium or large size. At home, for example, an ointment made from melted lard and garlic can help.

  • Beetroot compress. Raw beets need to be grated on a fine grater. The resulting paste is applied to the affected area, covered with film and secured with an adhesive plaster. This procedure should be done for 3-5 days, leaving the compress on overnight. Soon the lipoma should come out;

  • Cinnamon. Every day you need to eat 1 tbsp. cinnamon. This must be done until the problem disappears;

  • Burdock root infusion. Burdock root needs to be crushed and taken 300 g, pour 0.5 liters of 70% alcohol, and put in a dark place for a month. • Compress with a golden mustache. The leaf of the plant should be washed, dried and kneaded a little, and then applied to the sore spot. It needs to be changed 2 times a day. The lump should completely resolve within 2 weeks.

How to remove wen before the eyes

The most common place for the formation of small wen is the area around the eyes. In this case, a person observes small white pimples that appear out of nowhere. At the moment, you can give a bunch of examples of traditional treatments, since they often do not require a lot of money, and are also considered the safest type of treatment. But it is necessary to take into account the fact that traditional medicine, unlike surgical intervention, will never give an immediate result.

Among the popular ways to combat lipomas is aloe juice . It is included in most recipes for preparing mixtures for compresses and lotions. It is assumed that after 3 weeks of using this plant, the wen will be able to open on its own, and the skin will quickly recover.

In the case when the problem arose right almost near the eye, then you need to know that it is undesirable to use lotions and compresses. In this case, an ancient method can help, which involves using a self-prepared ointment from lard and garlic. The ratio of ingredients for production is 2:1.

Chestnut or ichthyol ointment can be used as a panacea for wen . If the second one can be purchased at the pharmacy, then the first one needs to be prepared independently. You will need several chestnuts (chopped in advance in a blender), a spoonful of honey and a spoonful of aloe juice. This method requires frequent use.

Some people prefer to get rid of white subcutaneous pimples by simply piercing them with a needle. But you must make sure that the needle is clean and sterile, otherwise you can get an infection. It is also necessary to ensure that you have medical gloves and alcohol in advance.

What to do if you have inflammation of the wen

If the lump begins to sharply increase in size and hurt, the skin turns red, the body temperature rises, and an ulcer appears at the site of the lump, an inflammatory process is evident.

In this case, you need to urgently consult a doctor, since complications can be disastrous, and sometimes this neoplasm turns from benign to malignant.

If the wen on the face became inflamed before the patient began to use folk remedies to get rid of it at home, an ulcer formed on the surface and it ruptured, then the affected area must be treated with an antiseptic, covered with a gauze bandage, and, in order to avoid infection , seek medical help as quickly as possible.

As a preventative measure, you should follow simple hygiene rules:

  1. Wash your face several times every day.
  2. Use only cosmetics whose quality is beyond doubt and which suits your skin type.
  3. Monitor your diet and be able to choose it correctly so that your nutrition is balanced.
  4. Do not miss scheduled examinations with specialists of various specialties.

Kinds

Wen on the face may differ in depth, shape, location, and structure. In medicine they are divided into 4 groups:

  • Lipoma. Usually located on the forehead or temples, but can also be observed in other areas. This is a mobile, round, hard formation located deep under the skin.
  • Xanthoma. Favorite places for localization are areas under and on the eyebrows and eyelids. This is a flat formation that can merge with other elements and form an expanded area of the fatty fragment. An individual wen is represented by a mobile soft formation of an unstable shape. It reaches 0.5-1.5 cm in size.
  • Milium. White pimples appear on the forehead, chin, cheekbones, under the eyes, on the wings of the nose and the bridge of the nose. Despite their convex shape, they are difficult to squeeze out manually, since there is no flow in the seals.
  • Xanthelasma. Most often diagnosed in the eyelid area. The yellow soft formation is mobile upon palpation. At first, the seals are small, later, merging with other wen, they increase in size.

How to treat a wen in a child

Small wen may appear in children under one year of age on the nose or eyelids. The reason for their appearance is the immaturity of the child’s hormonal system. These types of wen go away on their own over time. Internal acne that appears on the gums does not require treatment. They will go away on their own as soon as the baby starts teething.

If a tumor is discovered in the ear, then you cannot postpone a visit to the doctor.

If the child is still small, the formations have appeared recently and are small in size, the doctor will prescribe conservative treatment. It consists of following a diet based on foods containing fiber and vitamins, as well as using ointments, the function of which is to treat the excretory ducts of the sebaceous glands. Traditional methods can be used, for example, onions with soap or aloe.

If in the case of wen on the face there are recipes on how to get rid of them at home, then if a tumor appears on the back of the head, neck, or chest, it is dangerous to waste time. It can only be eliminated surgically in order to avoid the consequences associated with the harmful effects of lipoma on blood vessels.

Lipoma at first glance seems like a harmless disease, but complications can arise if the formation increases or becomes inflamed. Then you need to act immediately.

Homemade ointments

Ointment is the first remedy used when tumors appear. The most popular in the fight against lipomas are ointments based on beeswax, honey with garlic and bread, as well as lard with garlic.

It could be:

  1. Yellow wax – 50 g; sunflower oil – 200 ml; chicken egg – 1 pc. The egg is hard-boiled, leaving only half the yolk. The wax is heated, oil is poured in, and the mixture is brought to a boil. Then the crushed yolk is added there and everything is thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained. The ointment is filtered. Shelf life 12 months. in the refrigerator compartment. Apply liberally to the wen overnight until the formation completely disappears.

  2. Crumb of black bread ; honey – 1 tsp; garlic – 1 tooth. A 1 cm piece is cut out of a piece of bread to fit the size of the lipoma. Chopped garlic is mixed with honey. The crumb is lightly dried in a frying pan without oil, then the resulting mixture is laid out on it and the medicinal sandwich is steamed under the lid for another 2-3 minutes. The warm crumb is applied to the wen, secured with a plaster and left for 3 hours. After the time has elapsed, it is replaced with a new one. The procedure is carried out 3 times. in a day.
  3. Lard – 1 tbsp. l.; chopped garlic – 1 tsp. The ingredients are mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Keep refrigerated. The mixture is rubbed into the wen 3-4 rubles. in a day.

Is it necessary to fight wen?

Fatty deposits are not prone to degeneration and, in general, do not show themselves on the skin in any way; the only discomfort they can cause is a deterioration in appearance.

Even one milia can cause a lot of trouble: they are poorly disguised with decorative cosmetics, and if the tumor is present on the eyelids, it can limit their closure and increase the susceptibility to conjunctival infections.

Large lipomas anywhere in the body are considered dangerous to health, as they put pressure on surrounding tissues, as well as tumors with associated microbial infection. To eliminate them, you need to consult a doctor and possibly undergo additional examinations.

As a rule, any type of wen must be removed in order to eliminate the cosmetic defect and restore smoothness and neatness to the facial skin.

Classification of wen

Wen are classified according to a number of clinical signs, which depend on the location and structure of the formation.

In medicine, lipomas are divided into the following types:

How to remove wen

If the lipoma disfigures your face or is located in a place where it interferes with movement, for example, under the armpit, you should not delay its removal. This will still have to be done, but the sooner, the smaller the incision will be, and the lower the likelihood of scar formation and other problems. The operation is performed under local anesthesia. The wen is cut in the center with a scalpel, its contents are removed, and the wound is treated according to all the rules of surgery. The wound may need stitches.

Surgery consists of removing most of the wen mass. This means that a small part of it still remains. It is almost impossible to remove all the fat cells located there. Therefore, after some time, the formation of a new wen is possible, although this does not always happen. As a rule, after lipoma removal, relapse does not occur.

Where do wen come from?

The sebaceous glands produce sebum. In some cases, its overproduction begins, so to speak, as a result of which the gland becomes too large due to accumulations of fat, which does not have time to exit through the narrow sebaceous duct. The lipoma itself can grow quite large, and it differs from viral warts precisely in the presence of fat inside. Often, when you squeeze a lipoma, you can see sebum secreted from the skin pores. Sometimes you can see small tufts of hair growing from the fatty adenoma.

Because these structures continually secrete fat, scabs may accumulate on them. In addition, they are often itchy, and scratching can lead to infection of the wounds and cause the formation of secondary scabs (welts or scars). But all these are visual (cosmetic) defects; in principle, they do not threaten health. If the process is prolonged, the fat accumulated in the cavity is dehydrated, turning into a solid substance like wax, and the compressed fat cells die. This is how a real lipoma, or sebaceous cyst, is formed.

Why shouldn’t you delay removing the wen?

Wen tends to enlarge, so if it appears in a visible place, you should not delay removing it. Sebaceous adenoma can be diagnosed by a simple examination, but in some doubtful cases, a puncture is taken from it and sent for analysis. After tests confirm the presence of a lipoma and not some other formation, you can go for removal.

Differential diagnosis and puncture are mandatory, because The method of removing the tumor depends on the results - whether it will be a gentle procedure, or with the capture of surrounding tissues, which will increase the wound surface and increase the risk of the formation of a rough scar.

Lipomas often form on the upper and lower eyelids. This happens because the thin skin of the eyelids contains meibomian glands, which function together with the sebaceous glands, and on the eyelids they work more intensively. Therefore, the risk of wen formation in these places is maximum. It is these glands that often provoke the formation of cysts, warts, polyps and wen. If the problem is not eliminated in time, the tumor can grow to such an extent that it begins to irritate the cornea of the eye, and this is a serious ophthalmological disease that worsens the quality of life.

Moreover, overgrown meibomian glands can be very tiny and unnoticeable, only a specialist can see them under magnification, but they cause a lot of trouble, a person blinks often and constantly feels irritated eyes. Such lipomas can be removed by a surgeon or ophthalmologist. For eyelid surgery, an ophthalmologist is much preferable because he has finer instruments. In other cases, the surgeon works.

What is a wen?

Wen (the medical name is lipoma, “lipos” - fat and “oma” - tumor) is a fatty tumor.
It is a small spherical subcutaneous seal that does not cause pain or other discomfort.

It has distinct boundaries and can be easily palpated during examination.

Wen forms on internal organs and on parts of the human body: kidneys, liver, neck, back, face, eyelid, arms and legs.

It occurs more often in the fairer sex.

Wen poses virtually no threat to human health and only in individual cases does it degenerate into a malignant tumor. In fact, the wen only causes an aesthetic inconvenience.

However, it is still recommended to remove such tumors, because over time the size of the wen can increase significantly and lead to serious consequences.

Therefore, if neoplasms of an unknown nature appear on the body, it is recommended to visit a dermatologist to establish an accurate diagnosis and exclude a life-threatening disease.
