It contains many trace elements, amino acids, fatty acids, essential oils, vitamin P, vitamin B group, various resins, and even bee venom! The composition may vary depending on the place of extraction. Mumiyo is usually found in mountainous areas. Its miners gave it another, beautiful name - “tears of the mountains.”

In the course of numerous studies, scientists have found that in order for mumiyo to form, certain conditions are needed:

  • mountainous terrain 250-3500m high;
  • absence of low temperatures;
  • a concentration of animals and birds (bats, squirrels, wild pigeons and others) and plants (juniper, lichens, mint, rose hips, wormwood, fragrant valerian, thyme);
  • for the accumulation of mumiyo, it is necessary that there are cracks or niches in the rocks;
  • As a rule, accumulations of this useful substance are found in granite and limestone rocks. It looks like a crust, growth or film of a dark color. The consistency resembles resin. Most often, mumiyo is mined in Russia, India, Arabia, Monglia, Australia, China, Nepal, and South America.

  2. tissue regeneration: mumiyo can significantly lighten and make scars on the skin thinner and less noticeable,
  3. anti-inflammatory effect: masks with mumiyo have excellent antibacterial effects, which helps to cleanse the skin of acne and acne for a long period;

There are practically no contraindications for using mumiyo as a cosmetic product. But it won’t be superfluous to conduct a sensitivity test, in case you come across a product of poor quality.

When using mumiyo as part of skin masks, it is recommended to follow a few simple rules:

  • If you use the tablet form of mumiyo, then before adding it to the mask, the tablets must be crushed well to form a powder. Shilajit in liquid or viscous form is more effective.

  • Cosmetic procedures using mumiyo are carried out once every 10-12 days.
  • The use of any mask recipe must be carried out in a course. It is optimal if it is 10-12 procedures.
  • If the prepared mask is not thick enough, you can put a paper napkin on top of it and lie down.
  • After cleansing your skin from the mask, you should not apply makeup. Therefore, it would be advisable to make masks in the evening.
  • Masks with mumiyo should be washed off well, using plenty of warm water.
  • To enhance the effect of the mask, after the procedure you need to apply a nourishing cream to your facial skin.
  • You should not apply masks with mumiyo too often.
  • Before using mumiyo for skin, you need to make sure of its quality and authenticity. To do this, the purchased mummy should be filled with warm water. If it completely dissolves in 5-7 minutes, it means the product is of high quality and can be used without fear.

  • You can wash off the masks either simply with warm water or herbal decoctions.

Since ancient times, proven recipes for masks, creams, compresses and baths with mumiyo for skin rejuvenation have come down to us. Use them regularly to delay the appearance of wrinkles and reduce existing ones.

Composition and beneficial properties of mumiyo for facial skin

Mumiyo (from the Persian “mum” - “wax”) is a mixture of organic and mineral compounds of animal origin. It is believed that mumiyo is a waste product of rodents, in particular bats. Natural locations of the product are in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Official health care is controversial about this product. Traditional medicine and cosmetology, on the contrary, widely use the substance and achieve positive results.

The composition of mumiyo is a complex complex of various biologically active components, these are:

Mineral base . The main ingredients are compounds of oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, and carbon. Shilajit is rich in sodium, potassium, calcium, chromium and magnesium. All of them are contained in every living cell of the body, ensuring its normal functioning. A lack of macro- and microelements makes the epidermis of the face swollen, tired and pale.

Polyunsaturated fatty acid derivatives . Necessary for skin rejuvenation, stimulation of cellular regeneration processes. In addition, the face and décolleté area are important for the beauty.

Vitamins. Natural catalysts for metabolic reactions. Hypovitaminosis causes premature withering of the skin, fading of hair and increased brittleness of nails.

Natural resins. They have an astringent, bactericidal effect. They have antiviral activity and increase immunity. These properties are useful for problematic skin types.

Homemade creams

With nourishing cream and mumiyo

  • Mix a tablespoon of your favorite nourishing cream with two powdered mummy tablets. To the resulting composition you need to add 2 drops of aloe juice. The mass must be mixed well and left for 12 hours until the powder is completely dissolved.

The resulting cream should be applied evenly to previously cleansed skin. To enhance effectiveness, you can do a finger massage.

With honey and almond oil

  • Mix three tablespoons of heated honey, two mummy tablets ground into powder and a few drops of almond oil.

The resulting mass can be applied to the face 3 times a week.

With baby cream

  • Add three mummy tablets dissolved in water to a small amount of baby cream. Add 2-3 drops of jojoba oil to the resulting composition. Mix well.

Apply a small amount of this cream 2 times a week to clean skin.

With rose oil

  • Mix the crushed mummy tablets with a small amount of rose oil to form a thick mass.

The finished cream is applied directly to problem areas 2-4 times a week.

With cream and mumiyo

  • A universal anti-wrinkle remedy can be prepared very quickly - pour 2 crushed mummy tablets into a jar of rich cream, mix thoroughly and let it brew for 10 hours.

Use daily, at night.

With red wine

  • Pour two mummy tablets into 120 ml of red wine and let it brew for 24 hours.

The resulting lotion is used for washing. It allows you to keep your skin toned and nourish it with useful substances.

Methods of application

Mumiyo is used in folk medicine and cosmetology, both internally in the form of infusions and topically. Depending on the disease or the desired cosmetic effect, the specialist recommends one or another form of therapy.

Cosmetic ice

The product is used mainly among women of the older age group and is aimed at reducing the formation of wrinkles.

Homemade recipe: take 5 mummy tablets for 150 ml of still mineral water. Once completely dissolved, freeze in molds. Rub the prepared ice cubes on your face 2 times a day. Thanks to ice, blood flow and lymph circulation improves, complexion is evened out, and fine wrinkles are smoothed out.

At a younger age, cosmetic ice is used to prevent the formation of wrinkles around the eyes. The solution is prepared in the same proportions, but with the addition of 2 tsp. chamomile decoction. Before freezing, the liquid must be filtered through a sieve.

It is useful to use at night by rubbing an ice cube over the skin around the eyes.

Tonic

A cleansing suspension with the addition of mumiyo has rejuvenating and bactericidal effects. For mature skin, a cleansing solution based on red wine is suitable: take 0.5 g of mumiyo per 50 ml of dry drink. Completely dissolve within 24 hours. The resulting liquid is stored in the refrigerator. It is advisable to wipe the skin of the face and décolleté 2 times a day. This tonic tightens the skin, improves its tone and elasticity.

For young people with problem skin, a solution in the same proportions is prepared in mineral water without gas. The toner dries the skin and has a bactericidal effect. Acne, pimples, blackheads are the main indications for such a cosmetic product.

Lotion

The lotion is prepared using ordinary boiled water in a ratio of 1:10. To eliminate the specific smell of resin, you can add a couple of drops of lavender oil. The absence of alcohol and the healing properties of mumiyo make it possible to use the resulting solution for age spots in the complex treatment of acne and rosacea.

The lotion cleanses the epidermis, has a bactericidal effect, and evens out the complexion. Constant use eliminates acne from the face.

Cream

To beauty the face, eliminate dry skin, and increase elasticity, prepare a homemade cream that has a rejuvenating effect (the concentration of mumiyo increases with age):

  1. Take 10-20 tablets, this corresponds to 2-4 g of the substance.
  2. Thoroughly crushed to a powder state.
  3. Dissolve in 2-3 tsp. water.
  4. The liquid is placed in the refrigerator overnight.
  5. In the morning, squeeze a tube of baby cream into a shallow clay bowl and mix thoroughly until smooth.

To rejuvenate the skin, apply to the face for 3-4 months.

A number of women add essential oils to the cream to reduce the specific smell of mumiyo: most often lavender or jasmine.

Separately, it is worth noting that mumiyo dissolves well in water, but does not dissolve in oil. This is why you first need to dissolve it in water and then add it to baby cream. Trying to dissolve it immediately in baby cream will lead to nothing.

Scrub

Shilajit is not used in this capacity on its own. A combination of coffee scrub and cream with the addition of a healing agent is effective. Take coarsely ground coffee beans and rub them into the skin with gentle movements. The grain deeply cleanses the treated area. Then homemade cream with added mumiyo is applied.

This combination is used to eliminate acne scars. Allows you to make the scar invisible. The effect is based on the grinding of the epidermis with coffee beans and the regenerative properties of the cream.

Mask

It is a mandatory part of professional facial care. Cosmetologists recommend applying masks to your face at least once a week. Before application, you must thoroughly cleanse the skin and remove excess moisture with a napkin. The average holding time is 15-20 minutes. After removal, be sure to apply cream.

Masks with mumiyo are used in beauty salons and at home. The natural component (together with other traditional medicine) has great benefits for the epidermis:

  • Saturates with vitamins and polyunsaturated fatty acids;
  • Has a bactericidal effect;
  • Improves blood circulation and lymph flow;
  • Stimulates the production of collagen and elastin;
  • Has an anti-inflammatory effect.

There are no other more effective means for skin rejuvenation.

Masks

With sour cream

  • Dissolve the mummy tablet crushed into powder in a spoonful of rich sour cream. To the resulting mixture add a small amount of finely grated fresh cucumber and a teaspoon of linseed or olive oil.

Mix the finished mixture thoroughly and apply to previously cleansed facial skin in two layers. The mask is applied in the evening for 20-25 minutes, after which it should be washed off with warm water.

With oils

  • Mix two crushed mummy tablets with 2 teaspoons of peach oil and 1-2 drops of orange essential oil.

The mask is applied to clean facial skin in the evening for 30 minutes. It is not recommended to do this procedure more than once a week.

With egg and lemon

  • Add the powder made from two mummy tablets to one beaten egg white and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix and apply for 10-15 minutes to prepared facial skin.

The mask is applied to cleansed facial skin in an even, thick layer for 30 minutes. After the mask is washed off, it is recommended to apply any nourishing cream.

With sour cream and honey

  • To prepare such a mask, you need to take one teaspoon each of sour cream and honey, beat them, add one egg yolk and 2 g of mumiyo dissolved in warm water. Stir the mixture.

Apply thickly to clean facial skin for 15 minutes. This mask has an excellent moisturizing effect, nourishes all layers of the epidermis, and helps smooth out fine wrinkles.

With sodium mineral water

  • Five mummy tablets must be thoroughly crushed and dissolved in a tablespoon of sodium mineral water. Heat the mixture in a water bath until a thick paste forms.

This mixture is applied pointwise to problem areas. Exposure time is no more than 30 minutes. This mask will help smooth out fine wrinkles, make scars and age spots less noticeable.

With herbal decoction or milk

  • Dissolve two mummy tablets in a decoction of herbs or milk, mix with beaten egg whites and three tablespoons of honey, add a teaspoon of small oatmeal to the resulting mixture.

The mask is applied to clean skin for 15 minutes. It will perfectly nourish the skin with moisture and vitamins and easily cope with fine wrinkles.

With starch

  • Brew half a teaspoon of starch in two tablespoons of milk in a water bath. Cool and add 1 teaspoon of mumiyo solution.

The mask has a good lifting effect, will help tighten the skin, make it clean and smooth.

With cream, honey and egg

The mask is applied to clean skin for 10-15 minutes.

The mask helps treat rashes, has antibacterial properties and dries out oily skin. It is very nutritious, so regular use will tone your facial skin and give it a healthy appearance. The main property is that mumiyo has no contraindications for use and does not cause allergic reactions.

Let's list all the beneficial properties that masks made from mumiyo can provide:

How should you prepare masks?

If you follow certain recommendations, the effectiveness of treatment will increase. It is best to use resin in liquid form rather than tablets, because the balm is more effective. Dragees are very easy to grind into powder, and they are much cheaper, but it is better not to skimp on beauty.

Mumiyo face masks with a rejuvenating effect are recommended to be applied once every ten days; the course involves the use of ten masks. During this time, the skin will have time to renew itself and heal. To choose the right mask, you need to decide on your skin type, because if you apply the treatment to the wrong type, it may not be effective.

Only freshly prepared formulations should be used.

It is very easy to check the naturalness of the resin. The substance needs to be poured with hot water and if it dissolves in a few seconds without a residue, everything is fine and you can use it. Let's look at the main types of facial skin.

  1. Oily skin is not prone to wrinkles due to strong hydration.
  2. Dry skin - wrinkles appear early, prone to early aging.
  3. Normal skin - with good care, ages slowly.
  4. Combination skin is not prone to premature aging.

Knowing your skin type, you can correctly use mummy masks to prevent the appearance of wrinkles if you have dry skin or reduce sebum production if you have oily or combination skin.
